was the pick in 2018.
This isn't hindsight.
You can put to bed Daniel Jones being better than Allen. It's not even close, unfortunately for Giants fans.

Allen was setup to fail. Jones is walking in the footsteps of QBs that didn't work out. Injuries, coaching changes, etc.
I hope I'm wrong.

We missed out on both Josh Allen’s. That kid in Jacksonville is a player as well.

Revisionist history. We can do this ever year.
The only picks projected to be worth the #2 pick at the time were Barkley, Nelson, Chubb, Darnold, Mayfield, and Rosen. There may have been a CB.

He was in the same system his 1st 2 years and had a much better team around him same system, but they were hardly stacked with talent around him. better this year w/ diggs They had a top defense last year as well... Now they surrounded him with talent Jones in his 2nd year is being asked to now carry a team on his back with an entirely new staff that had no offseason practices or preseason games now down to Slayton and a bunch of never will bes at WR behind a brand new line still getting to know each other This is how talented qbs fail Not that I didn't predict this or anything.

Some like Josh Allen (QB). I still dont. Not long term. I dont like his QB skills nor his ability to stay healthy long term the way he plays.
Thats said, yes, he should have been the pick over a freaking RB. And he is better than Daniel Jones.

Comparing the two just makes me feel worse about jones, not better. Allen has a stronger arm, he's a better runner, and he's more powerful. Not to say jones is poor in any of those areas, just that allen is better. The knock on allen coming out was accuracy, but he's improved immensely in his time during the NFL, which speaks volumes in and of itself...I'm willing to give them more or less equal grades here, however strength + accuracy again tilts this in favor of allen. Both have questionable decision making, but jones is probably a bit better. However his lack of talent in the other areas makes him overall notably worse. I just don't see him ever really being able to complete against the likes of his young gun contemporaries like allen, jackson, mahomes, murray, etc.

What I see here is the people refusing to give Allen credit for improving and proving a lot of people wrong. Hanging on to the wrong take is worse than coming up with a hot take. Allen is looking really good these days and is a borderline MVP candidate. He deserves nothing short of credit.

ANY of the QB's that year were the pick over a running back at 2....positional value dictates that easy choice Today...311 yards and four touchdowns....also rushed for a touchdown for 5 total. Completed 72.7% of his passes...long way from Wyoming and that completion % Plus, his touch is improving...kids a football player with uber talent. Jones?...he is a game manager that turns the ball over, a silly amount...if he does not stop the turnovers he is gone after this year, and us picking a new franchise.

Dave GETTLEMAN “I saw Daniel Jones and I was in full bloom love” Well Dave maybe you both can see the door together....He gave Shurmur the “credit” for finding Jones so I guess he wasn’t on Gettleman’s radar who knows.

He was billed as the next tom brady, but looking more like Matt cassell

Haha, how did I know that you were going to bring that up? You'll be fine after Lamar Jackson passes the 10 point barrier in the first quarter. I honestly should have started Gallup to at least make you have to sweat it out tonight.

I loved that trade just before we played each other. He gave me a pretty good offer. Prescott is actually looking like an MVP candidate and Gallup was due. If I would have still kept him, I would have been just a little bit upset about him prematurely celebrating that should have been TD yesterday. I'm pretty sure that his FF owner was pissed off at that.

That coach and that QB will make sure of that.

I have to give Harooni credit. He was on the Josh Allen bandwagon from the start. Go figure, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
