Isn't the owner white?
I mean had a white quarterback refused to play for his team no one would have a problem with it.
LOL, Kase and I were at that game. I went to the previous one in San Diego as well. Those fans never, ever got over Eli dissing them on draft night. He never did beat the Chargers, which is kind of funny and ironic. My guess is Baltimore fans still hate Elway as well. I remember Elway getting sacked in his first game against the Colts. It was one of those full weight of the body type sacks that just said W E L C O M E T O B A L T I M O R E. 🙂

The Chargers had some very likeable players on that team (Brees and Tomlinson to name a few). The Eli games were their fans' Super Bowl. Some of the things being said by their fans towards Manning in that game can't be repeated now. He was called the equivalents to a female dog, a bundle of sticks, and the female sex organ by even school aged children. I actually met Tiki Barber at that game. He was cool as a fan.

Where there is smoke... One or two could be dismissed, but 9? It's up to 12 now being represented by this lawyer. Another 10 women have come forward now and apparently are being vetted. TMZ report last night. If true 22 women ? No wonder he wanted out of Houston. The lawyer said he is a neighbor of the owner but he doesn't know him and has never met him. This was on TV late last night after 11pm. What a mess Houston can't get spit for him now. I'm sure if the league see's any evidence he's gone for at least a year. Houston probably suspends him from club as well. But 22 women, sexual assault charges being made. Police said no investigations going on . So what does that say ? What a mess of a young mans perfect life and a terrible incident to everyone involved. Innocent or guilty Watson could be ruined. Wow, 22 ..can't even wrap my head around it. I hope he is innocent but if he is not, he does not deserve to be in the NFL

It just seems once stuff like this gets out there's always more to follow.

Watson has problems. This all cant be fabricated BS. One there is no reason to fabricate this stuff and two there are too many allegations.
IMO he may be done playing in the NFL and if even a couple of these allegations stick then he should pay dearly as well.

PFT is claiming there now 24 women who have come forward. This is just crazy.
Watson wasn’t kidding when he said he’d never play for the Texans again.

I can only imagine the team was aware of his habits. It's the only thing that makes sense to me. They must have waited and once the realized he wouldn't acquiesce they went with plan B.
No doubt it's best to reserve judgement until we hear his side, but he sure seems like damaged goods now. And that's by no means meant to sound indifferent towards those women.

My feeling is that the number of people coming forward is less important than the materiality of their story. This is a big smoke / fire play. My gut tells me that if you’re looking to make a big splash against someone recruiting people to initially affirm is pretty easy. Until this big block of women - fronted by the ambulance chaser - is interrogated and their corroborative evidence is submitted and reviewed, this just feels like so much like a PR campaign supported by he said/she said.

I'm not going to condemn the guy before he gets to defend himself, but there is a LOT of smoke here. In one of the lawsuits he is accused of doing it to the same girl twice in 2 separate instances. Even after she told him she was a lesbian. Then paid her a only a third of her fee because he said she didnt do what he wanted.

I will be curious to hear if the lawyer gave the cops the statements from every accuser. From his perspective, he really only needs to hit one one criminal case, and the rest of the civil suits will fall like dominos.

Last I saw he was having a pretty good time in the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately in the NFL, if you are really good and one of the stars of the league Goodell will find a big enough rug to sweep this under.

if this story is true then my sympathies are all with these victims but if its just a money grab then there has to be some legal protections to guard against it with severe penalties and some nasty repercussions against the lawyer..

Bringing (knowingly) false allegations could result in disbarment and possible prison for the lawyers. I don't too many civil attorneys would risk their livelihoods for that. So there may some fire to the smoke. Like I said before a couple here and there could be dismissed. But a pattern of behavior that can be verified is trouble for Mr Watson

PFT is claiming there now 24 women who have come forward All civil. What strikes me is there wasn't a single hint until he didn't want to stay with the Texans then all hell broke lose, just strange . Keeping 24 women quiet all at the same time is impossible to do, it just is. The attorney is looking to have a grand injury decide if criminal charges are appropriate.
I'd say it's pretty common that once one woman comes forward, it empowers others to do so as well.
It's pretty obvious with the response from his attorney that this was an issue for him.
Maybe he would have been better served to just play football instead of pushing for a voice in front office and coaching matters?

One of my theories is that the team is basically “not helping” since Watson gave them the finger. They were probably aware of certain behaviour in the past but did what they could to cover for him or keep things away from press that were either bad or could be construed certain ways. Now they’re pulling back and letting the chips fall. They could also step in to save him if he renegs on his trade demand but it might have gotten to far now for them to want to get involved.

I seriously doubt Bloomberg would do the same thing today given today’s racial climate.

I actually have no idea but I always thought the city was crazy strict.

They might have been able to do things behind the scenes to prevent the lawsuits from getting filed...ie. settle/pay off. That kind of stuff does go on. But I am delving into celebrity gossip territory here so I am going to stop

And it could go in many directions.

They may be but it wasn’t as if Plaxico intentionally pulled the trigger. It was an accident and one he paid for dearly while clearly being at fault. i just thought at the time that if there was a moment to cut an athlete some slack, that seemed like the time to do it.
