Jeez, fans complain for 4 years that Gettleman never trades, then complain when he does. After this year's spending spree the Giants will probably be limited next year. Having that extra first round pick will be beyond clutch. Especially in a draft that could be deep with edge rushers.

I haven't watched any of this guy. I kept hearing about the top 3 guys and then Bateman as the 4th WR. Going to watch some games of his later today. Considering we traded with the bears there is a very good chance that will turn out to be a top 15 maybe top 10 pick next year too!

DJ has 1 year to show that he's the guy going forward. If he shows us otherwise, we now have 2 first round picks to use to leverage a position to get replacement. Trading with the Bears, who appear to be a bottom of the league team with a new rookie QB, could net us a high pick to start with... On the other hand, if DJ proves himself, well, you already covered that. Yeah, we let Parsons go to the Cowpies and Philthy got Smith, but we've ensured our future no matter what happens with DJ. That's priceless moving forward.

Anyway, I heard JJ is making all the decisions now, I'm still not sure why we are talking about DG.

I made it known. I am not a fan of top 10 or 1st round draft picks for WRs. They do not have a stellar track record for being a sound pick. Even if he is a total bust. ( worst case scenario) We gave up nothing. We still have our 1st round pick. Chances are it will be a high one with the Bears fielding a rookie QB. And we gained a 5th round pick.
What is the Bitch?

How anyone can be mad is beyond me the kid is fast and his agility is absolutely is insane. He literally reminds me of Tyreek Hill or Percy Harvin. Plus the two first round picks next year is looking even better.

Honestly I think DG did exactly what he had to do and we still got an explosive play maker who can line up anywhere and do everything, and a first round pick for next year? I have been very vocal about not trading back when we selected Saquon, I think this time we did exactly the right thing once D Smith was gone.
It sucks we didn't get Smith, and it sucks more he went to the Eagles, but in the end we may just be better for it.

And a 4th rounder next year as well - so three picks (including a first rounder) to move back 9 slots, grabbing a dynamic playmaker, not reaching for one of the edge players. The only other player I would have liked here was Darrisaw, but now they can pick a true guard in the second round or Dickerson for Center and bump Gates to Guard.

Most excited I’ve been about a draft in a long time. We didn’t panic, we set ourselves up for something crazy next year. I love it.

Every year a handful of posters get hammered and make fools of themselves on draft day ... most sleep it off and are less emotional in the morning

Not that it matters, but WalterFootball actually had Toney as their 4th WR: walterfootball.com/draft2021WR.phpI did little to no research on Toney because I didn't see us trading back to the 20's and I "knew" he'd be gone by our pick in Rd2. I did more research on guys like Bateman, Marshall, Eskridge, D. Brown, etc. The fact we already have some established weapons should allow us to utilize Toney properly. He's very much a swiss army knife type player from what I've gathered.

Could even be better than top 10 pick if what the talking heads were saying about needing to get Justin Fields starting as soon as possible to save their jobs. According to T.H.E.Y.(The Hearsay Experts for You), the Bears' coach is in desperation mode and he needs to get Fields set up to start and quick. This could turn into a good thing for them or go horribly wrong.

Dude a lot more than 2% hate the pick. You should see the shit storm on Facebook lol.
Anyway I think Toney will be able to make an impact from day 1. I'm excited to see how we'll use him.

This is what we are getting THIS is what I wanted this year We.now have him on a rookie deal This is the kind of player for years that I wanted a WR with RB skills with the Ball in his hands. Loved it was calling it when I thought we were gonna run out of playmakers and when Denver took the corner the writing was on the wall glad they had a plan. I said early on be fore the draft that if they lose on Waddle and Smith they need to trad down and Grab Toney I'm pumped they never draft who I want lol.

How about that ankle snapping move in the first clip? Very, very nice.
On that topic, and taking nothing away from Smith I didn't see any crispness in his moves, in and out of cuts. Basically he just ran past college DBs (like they were standing still ha)
So, I think Smith won't find it as easy at the next level.
Anyway, Smith wasn't available so it is moot. We played the had that was dealt us and we did fine with it.
