Wow that escalated fast. Anti gay comments about Michael Sam apparently as well as anti gay slang referring to Roger Goodell. That would probably do it.

I don't agree with holding someone to task for things that they did over a decade ago. I would like to think that he isn't that same guy. He owned it and admitted that he was not in the right frame of mind. That should be enough. However, that team had millions of dollars in sponsorship revenue to think about, so Jon had no choice but to resign because the team was going to fire him to save face.

So question now is, will every current NFL coach's emails be subject to this same level of review? If you want to be fair about it that should be what is done.
Then after that it should be done for all front office people too including owners. How would that go over with the ownership of each team?

Apparently this is what he said...
In some of those emails, Gruden referred to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell as a "fa****t" and a "clueless anti football p****y." He wrote that Goodell shouldn't have pressured then-Los Angeles Rams coach Jeff Fisher to draft "queers," according to the report. The Rams made Michael Sam the first openly gay player to be drafted in the NFL in 2014.
He wasn't surviving that..

Problem is there is no end to this. Can we be permitted to expose all of Goodell's emails from his entire career even before he was commissioner? How do we know the proper scrutiny can be applied without tampering occurring before any review.

Wonder what he was saying.

Hey, the Giants might have a win on their schedule over the next 6 weeks.

Hypocrisy and corruption is in the NFL's DNA. They only react when their bottom line is affected.

This isn't like ruining someone's like over one inappropriate tweet that they made in 7th grade. It's 7 years worth of racist, homophobic hate-filled nonsense he made as a grown adult who was running football teams. Of course he apologized, because he got caught. This is clearly someone with some serious issues.

It was still wrong then. He wasn't a young person either he was a grown man. He was just dumb for putting on record. The advice "Never reply when you’re angry. Never make a promise when you’re happy. Never make a decision when your sad." would have helped Gruden here.

They do nothing though to the rest of the league including league office all the way up to Goodell, coaches, players, front office folks, owners down to the lowest level NFL employee Gruden may actually have a legit law suit.

Lol. Yes the NFL being hypocrites is already established and nothing new. They do nothing though to the rest of the league including coaches, players, front office folks, owners down to the lowest level NFL employee Gruden may actually have a legit law suit. I guess it may depend on how his emails came out. Wasn't it an NFL investigation into workplace misconduct with Washington? In that case, he has no recourse. Those emails would be NFL property. A large company I worked for did random email audits. It was made clear our work emails did not belong to us. If you were caught with inappropriate language or attachments, you're quietly fired. It happened often. But those were just the emails pertaining to that investigation. You don't think Gruden used the same language in emails before and after? He’s not stupid enough to consider a lawsuit. He will quietly disappear into thin air.
