This is what happens when a team makes assenine decision in the top 5 Culprit-Jets(what a surprise) Bad decision- Metcalf at 3
Result
Combined with a run on o linemen and 2 TEs ahead of us ... I can't think of anyone that would have questions with this scenario

Sorry,I know, your draft, but I see this and I see someone leaving the lobster tail on the plate when they spend $150 on surf and turf

Sorry,I know, your draft, but I see this and I see someone leaving the lobster tail on the plate when they spend $150 on surf and turf I was really tempted to take Brian Burns there at 17 and then I was planning on EDGE in the 2nd after Burns and all the guys of value I normally target at 17 were gone. The highest ranked EDGE guy left in the 2nd round was Winovich (spelling?) And I thought that Harry was better value than that. That being said don't sleep on Crosby and Van Ginkel late. Both are freaky athletes who have great burst off the edge. Could use some polishing but definitely would be some young talented guys to throw in the mix. That being said if it were possible to get Q Williams and someone like Ferrell or Brian Burns at 17. I would be drooling at the thought of that. Ferrell or Burns/Hill/Tomlinson/Williams/Carter would be a really really talented, young, and pretty damn athletic front

6: R1P6 DL QUINNEN WILLIAMS ALABAMA
Can the best player in the draft drop? Very possible, and DG would wet himself if he had it happen.
17: R1P17 DL RASHAN GARY MICHIGAN
Like Williams, another freak. At 17? Doubtful, as he has top 3 talents...sure the production might scare teams away, but the Wolverines used him in situations where he was asked to do the mop work...he is a bull that can be in a china shop and purchase the QB's health ... inexorable closing speed.
37: R2P5 OT KALEB MCGARY WASHINGTON
Not sure he will be here...a huge man with incredible athletic ability. Smashed the combine and senior bowl...would be an immediate upgrade of Wheeler on the right side...so important to get a vertical pass game going...the time element for ANY QB.
95: R3P31 LB TRE LAMAR CLEMSON
108: R4P6 G MICHAEL JORDAN OHIO STATE
Interior beast, another DG guy...future center.
132: R4P30 EDGE SUTTON SMITH NORTHERN ILLINOIS
This productive freaky athlete would flourish at getting the QB playing alongside Williams and Gary....

At that point I'm either taking the best 2nd level player on the board or a playmaker in the passing game ..I get BPA and stuff but this guy is a more athletic Cedric Jones And I'm thinking Sutton Smith now in the 3rd,he wont make it to day 3,and is a perfect compliment to William's And we don't have a vertical passing game if you don't do anything with these receivers, though a RT could be best value at 37(not a fan of this guy to be honest)

I've never said WR is a luxury...said I don't see value in a WR in this years draft, and if Brown is there in the late third, he might be BPA at that point, in my huge difference of BPA vs. yours. QB, EDGE, OT and the shut down corner...IMHO, the 4 most important positions in football. It's all good my friend...we all want the same thing in 2-3 yers, when Solder and Manning are no longer here...a shot to play the Patriots again for the Vinny trophy. We're not briefing for operation Neptune type tuff here...it's putting together a team that will compete in a few years...and I believe strongly in the big boys winning the games, and making life easier for all the guys who score in the end zone, some that enjoy showing how they can pee like a dog if the need calls for it. Nobody's life is in danger, just a few televisions.

I'd rather do this then draft the next Eli Apple, instead taking one or 2 on day 3 to battle the inevitable 1 year vets we sign in the next month or so to improve the back end and maybe even find an decent starter.

Why can't we purchase a WR? Because legit top end guys rarely come free,if they do they usually are defective in some way(usually mentally)and if we are trading away a generational one why pay probably nearly as much for a hot as good version that we had signed And we probably have to pay Sheppard and also in the slight chance Coleman and or Latimer do actually "late bloom" they will also be UFAs looking for top dollar Get the guy early this year, there should be a playmaker in the 17-3rd round range that will meet the BPA meets need criteria that fits a dire hole

6: R1P6 EDGE NICK BOSA OHIO STATE
If this mock comes to light, DG should get that card in faster then he did Barkley...this is a prime value edge, get the QB guy...not a running back.
17: R1P17 OT JAWAAN TAYLOR FLORIDA
Another run to get the card in...the future left tackle just dropped into our laps at 17
37: R2P5 EDGE JAYLON FERGUSON LOUISIANA TECH
Immediate starter, and another high value destroy the QB player...can get to the QB and stop the run. Amazingly, over 1/4 of all his tackles are for a loss. Production that translates into the NFL...a perfect 3-4 guy in the second round?...can't pas up this value.
95: R3P31 OT KALEB MCGARY WASHINGTON
Yep, this guy again. At the end of the third round, the future right tackle is secured.
108: R4P6 CB SAIVION SMITH ALABAMA
Work in progress...lacks ball skills but has upside as a press man coverage guy. Nice size...needs a year of seasoning.
132: R4P30 S AMANI HOOKER IOWA
Ability to play nickel corner....or safety. Excellent ball skills...wtching his tape you can see why some of the posters on this site are high on him. Nice late 4th round pick here.
142: R5P4 WR EMMANUEL HALL MISSOURI
Track speed to open up the offense ... creating the tremendous offense we had all those years when we had OBJ.
143: R5P5 WR HUNTER RENFOW CLEMSON
At pick 143, why not the slot? Renfow is a precise route runner with great hands...should be a starter in round 5. 171: R5P33 S MIKE BELL FRESNO STATE
I'd use him as a corner...nice size at 6'3.
180: R6P7 EDGE MAXX CROSBY EASTERN MICHIGAN
Great tape, great production. How does that production stack up at the next level? It doesn't, unless he fills out. He has all, but lacks that strength ...but has the frame. Round six guy who if fills out, can actually...become an effective starter. Worth the shot here.
232: R7P18 LB CAMERON SMITH USC
Really? Round 7? Lacks speed, but he is a tackling machine who has great ILB instincts ... easy pick here, or even in round 5.
245: R7P31 OT ISAIAH PRINCE OHIO STATE
Future swing tackle in round 7, already better then the RT we wheel out there...Taylor on the left, McGary on the right, and Prince as the swinger. Next years QB shall be protected, and the offense should click

6: R1P6 QB KYLER MURRAY OKLAHOMA
Had my choice of the mobile one and the not asked to be so mobile one, Haskins. Shurmur swayed DG here, and now that we have the QB set, and a tiny guy who runs all over locking onto one receiver, time to give him his weapons.
17: R1P17 WR D.K. METCALF MISSISSIPPI
DG says, I gave you the small QB, now it's time to get size. Goes with the linebacker receiver with the 12 pack abs, and football genes.
37: R2P5 WR A.J. BROWN MISSISSIPPI
DG comes back with another physical receiver, knowing you can never have enough weapons, or hugeness.
95: R3P31 WR PENNY HART GEORGIA STATE
Shurmur declares it is his turn, and counter the two bigger wides with a quick route runner for his type of offense.
108: R4P6 TE JOSH OLIVER SAN JOSE STATE
Shurmur and DG settle for this non blocking receiving tight end, as Shurmur enjoys 2 tight end sets so much, he wants to be the first coach to try 3....
132: R4P30 RB BRYCE LOVE STANFORD
Time for more running backs, as this offense needs to score 65 a game to have a chance, and if Barkley gets hurt, as he is a running back after all...well, we need that added run dimension to keep on moving the chains and clock. Don't want a pass only team. Shurmur also is thinking 2 running back sets now as well...could he be thinking three? 142: R5P4 WR HUNTER RENFOW CLEMSON
We decide to go BPA in this spot, and while Hunter is another slot, you know what they say...you can never have enough slot receivers. Or was that pass rushers?
143: R5P5 WR ANTHONY RATLIFF-WILLIAMS NORTH CAROLINA
Shurmur decides we don't need to block, that he believes the league is getting away from blocking, tackling and shall soon be using a flag to stop plays. His theory is run by DG, who then pulls the trigger on the best value at this spot, DG warning Shurmur he could be fired if we don't sore 65 a game. Shurmur assures him we can be down by 40 at halftime, and can still win the game...and cover the spread.
171: R5P33 OT ISAIAH PRINCE OHIO STATE
In a shocking pick, DG who is adapt at finding linemen who block in the middle rounds, takes Prince from Ohio State...prompting many fans to declare they shall boycott the team as they are in fantasy leagues, and the only Prince should be seen on a football field doing halftime shows.
180: R6P7 RB BENNY SNELL JR. KENTUCKY
Benny fills the three running back sets Shurmur wants to use...DG declares Barkley, Love and Snell is a chance at the superbowl as no team has ever had three backs on the field at the same time who do so much.
232: R7P18 WR EMMANUEL BUTLER NORTHERN ARIZONA
Keeping the fans happy, the Giants take Butler from NAU and assures all we can now come back and win any game that is against a team that has no pass rush, blockers or any players at all.
245: R7P31 EDGE CARL GRANDERSON WYOMING
He finishes off his best weapons draft with a grunt...believing the war can be won by air superiority alone, and adding the grunt to teach the players how to make a bed so tight, a quarter shall always bounce back.

METCALF MISSISSIPPI DG says, I gave you the small QB, now it's time to get size. Goes with the linebacker receiver with the 12 pack abs, and football genes. 37: R2P5 WR A.J. BROWN MISSISSIPPI DG comes back with another physical receiver, knowing you can never have enough weapons, or hugeness. 95: R3P31 WR PENNY HART GEORGIA STATE Shurmur declares it is his turn, and counter the two bigger wides with a quick route runner for his type of offense. 108: R4P6 TE JOSH OLIVER SAN JOSE STATE Shurmur and DG settle for this non blocking receiving tight end, as Shurmur enjoys 2 tight end sets so much, he wants to be the first coach to try 3.... 132: R4P30 RB BRYCE LOVE STANFORD Time for more running backs, as this offense needs to score 65 a game to have a chance, and if Barkley gets hurt, as he is a running back after all...well, we need that added run dimension to keep on moving the chains and clock. Don't want a pass only team. Shurmur also is thinking 2 running back sets now as well...could he be thinking three? 142: R5P4 WR HUNTER RENFOW CLEMSON We decide to go BPA in this spot, and while Hunter is another slot, you know what they say...you can never have enough slot receivers. Or was that pass rushers? 143: R5P5 WR ANTHONY RATLIFF-WILLIAMS NORTH CAROLINA Shurmur decides we don't need to block, that he believes the league is getting away from blocking, tackling and shall soon be using a flag to stop plays. His theory is run by DG, who then pulls the trigger on the best value at this spot, DG warning Shurmur he could be fired if we don't sore 65 a game. Shurmur assures him we can be down by 40 at halftime, and can still win the game...and cover the spread. 171: R5P33 OT ISAIAH PRINCE OHIO STATE In a shocking pick, DG who is adapt at finding linemen who block in the middle rounds, takes Prince from Ohio State...prompting many fans to declare they shall boycott the team as they are in fantasy leagues, and the only Prince should be seen on a football field doing halftime shows. 180: R6P7 RB BENNY SNELL JR. KENTUCKY Benny fills the three running back sets Shurmur wants to use...DG declares Barkley, Love and Snell is a chance at the superbowl as no team has ever had three backs on the field at the same time who do so much. 232: R7P18 WR EMMANUEL BUTLER NORTHERN ARIZONA Keeping the fans happy, the Giants take Butler from NAU and assures all we can now come back and win any game that is against a team that has no pass rush, blockers or any players at all. 245: R7P31 EDGE CARL GRANDERSON WYOMING He finishes off his best weapons draft with a grunt...believing the war can be won by air superiority alone, and adding the grunt to teach the players how to make a bed so tight, a quarter shall always bounce back. Too many weapons. 19-0 confirmed lol

I'd like to trade back for him but I see him as a legit RT now with Solder at LT and developing into a LT in the future. We need one more OT in this draft.

We need one more OT in this draft. I honestly think we can get a good one in the mid rounds that can be developed behind a 1 or 2 year stop gap. Most or your really good lines have historically been built in rounds 3-5,where Gettleman has done extraordinarily well finding good starting linemen. The Cowboys are the outleir here and because they spent so much first round capital on the line they neglected the defense for years till they got a coach that has made some average talent overachieve, and now that their defense is decent the line is starting to crumble health wise... Not to mention all the first round busts lately on the o line, unless there is a verified blue chip guy its actually best to get a few of the lunchpail type guys New England,Pittsburgh, the Rams and Panthers have found in the mid rounds to build the line and just keep a pipeline of mid round talent every year coming in to replace linemen that either get injured or are too expensive to resign without any drop off

OL is boring to draft, but I think JWill is one of those top OLinemen worthy of a top 10 pick. I would rather get a pass rusher of there, but wouldnt be mad getting Jwill to play tackle for the next decade for us. Trading Odell will make our OL that much more important. QB will need more time, SQB will need more blocking, WRs will need more time to separate, ect. I want both our picks to build the trenches. If we get JWill and Ferrell I'd be very happy.

It's not boring at all but at the same time it's an overreaction to a trade that I still think sucks unless we somehow replace talent with talent, and the strength of the early part of this draft is an elite front 7 player that will immediately improve the defense. Hell I'd actually go Sweat/Wilkins back to back (Q William's is my dream pick at 6 but not as realistic as this scenario)because as far as I'm concerned, the front 7 is so much improved that the defense overall is that much improved (with upgrades at safety this is enough to get by with front line talent till day 3 as this can cover some deficiciancies at corner, which to me is best finished with the 2020 free agency period where we have the money to add 2 high end finished corners if needed ) So then day 2 could be deadicated to a playmaker in the passing game and line depth (get am AJ/Marquis Brown,Campbell at 37 or Isabella in the 3rd, or a Reisner at 37 or D Edwards or Sharpning in the 3rd depending on value

6: R1P6 QB DWAYNE HASKINS OHIO ST. 17: R1P17 EDGE MONTEZ SWEAT MISS. Nothing overly flashy other than Sweat falling to 17 (which I would be beyond shocked), we get the QB of the future, a stud pass rusher, a solid 3-4 DE who could probably start if not play a ton early on, a RT that could compete for the starting job, some solid DB prospects, guys with upside at WR, some intriguing LB's and some depth on the OL and DL
