Damn, the "other" Williams. I remember him in that 96 season. I thought he played a lot longer for the Yankees though looking back at his stats. RIP Did they say how he died? He was only 55.

Is it just me, or is it a big coincidence that MLB has stopped tested for steroids with the agreement between the players association and MLB expiring.... as MLB is in a lock out again.
Get ready for 60 HRs a season again!
Players have not been being tested since Dec 1st 2021. Enough for some players to get really jacked up for the season whenever it starts and still cycle off. Fingers crossed Gary Sanchez did
I bet Altuve comes back looking like a normal height person.

True, but roids do more than get someone ripped. They say it helps with injury recoveries, speed and also vision / eye sight in recognizing pitches. I believe it. There were many juicers that weren't huge and it helped them tremendously. I guarantee there are players right now PEDing up while they can.

YESSSSSSSS!!!!! No more pitchers up at the plate!!! While I understand it, and certainly do approve of it, I will miss the good hitting pitchers hitting. I wonder if there will be a rule where the DH can fill ANY position. For example, you have a good hitting pitcher, but a SS who is 100% defense and thats it. Can you place the DH on the SS and let the P hit? I think that would be good. Also, the draft lottery isnt that important in MLB. Draft picks take forever to develop and there are many more misses early in the first round in MLBs draft than any other sport. Much more. I think the NFL should actually do this and after the rumors of Miami paying the HC to lose, you may see this come soon to the NFL.

If teams want to tank, so be it. It rankles me when a pretty good team gets a lucky dice, keeps the bad teams bad. Hate it in NHL and NBA.

You could only use the top 10 teams, or even top 5 teams if you want. Doesnt have to be all teams that missed the playoffs. It just takes out the tank for this superstar QB from happening so much. Indy did it for Luck. Jags did it for Trevor. Cincy did for Burrow. Ect.

I'm not arguing that teams don't tank, to me its just that the cure is worse than the illness. How does that make it worse? Lets just say, the percentages break like this #1 worst record has a 45% chance of getting the top pick #2 - 25% #3 - 15% #4 - 10% #5 - 5% And the picks 1-5 are sorted out that way. I really like that idea. I guess the only downside I see is that teams fans will think its rigged if their team gets screwed.

Juan Soto turned down a 13 year $350M extension with the Nationals. $350 Million Dollars. This kid is an immigrant who came from nothing to America to play baseball. That is mind blowing. He must really really want to be a Yankee in a few years

I mean, odds are if he stays healthy the next 2 years, he will get $500M guaranteed by then. I really do think he is the next great player. A Trout type. Imagine pairing him up with Jasson Dominguez and all his hype. Soto turns down a 13 year $350M extension, meanwhile, the Rays extended phenom Wander Franco for an 11 year $185M steal late last year. I bet Franco, despite the $185M reasons to love his extension, is second guessing his agent about now.

I have a feeling Freddie Freeman is a Yankee in his next season.
Sounds like he is out of Atlanta, and the Yankees dont have a 1B, and need a lefty bat in their lineup.
Mark Tiexiera part 2.

Yankees to retire Paul O'Neill's No. 21 TAMPA, Fla. -- Eight years after Paul O’Neill was honored with a plaque in Yankee Stadium’s Monument Park, the Yankees have announced that they plan to retire the beloved outfielder’s uniform No. 21. “Paul O’Neill Day” will be celebrated on Aug. 21, 2022 before the Yankees’ game against the Blue Jays, as O’Neill becomes the 23rd Yankees player or manager to have his number retired. All guests in attendance will receive a commemorative game ticket. Affectionately referred to as “The Warrior” by fans and known for his powerful throwing arm, O’Neill spent the final nine seasons of his 17-year Major League career in the Bronx (1993-2001), winning four World Series with the Yankees (1996, ’98-2000) and appearing in a fifth (2001). He was acquired from the Reds in a November 1992 trade for outfielder Roberto Kelly. www.mlb.com/news/paul-o-neill-number-21-to-be-retired-by-yankees

It makes you forget how we gave Jay Buhner away.
