They spelled Gettleman wrong..This was long over due. I’m also not in the camp that this will fix our offense. You can’t change a whole offense mid season. We will still be running Garrett’s offense. Only difference is, Judges brother from another mother will be calling the games.
Such a Giants move. Find an scapegoat, isolate him, and then eradicate him.

Yay. Another scapegoat. Anyhow, it had to be done. Nowhere near enough though IMO. Smoke screen gives the illusion of improvement coming. This is a JM signature move.

Giants couldn't even get this firing right. They keep Garrett over the long bye and then fire him on a short week. I have no confidence that things will change with Kitchens Kitchens can be a good OC and had good success in similar circumstances before. With that being said, Judge doesn’t know wtf he is doing in games so that anvil will still be hanging around their neck. He was an OC for one season. He could be Barney Rubble for all we know.

Yay. Another scapegoat. Anyhow, it had to be done. Nowhere near enough though IMO. That front office needs to be gone completely it should of happened back in 2014 or 2015 at the latest just set this team backer further waiting then buying a 1 and done playoff appearance kicked another couple years onto already crappy situation, time clean house no better time.

The FO and coaches held a meeting and asked, "what would be the absolute smallest thing we could to to make it look like we are making changes, what would it be"?

Garrett deserved to lose his job, but by all accounts he is a great guy. I personally never like to celebrate someone losing their job. Not saying he’s a bad guy but this is not the first time he’s being fired for his ineffectiveness to get results. He’s been in the league a long time and His family isn’t going yo hungry and I’m sure he has enough wealth to start up a business or something. Coaching in the NFL is not for him. I don’t feel bad for him at all

Garrett deserved to lose his job, but by all accounts he is a great guy. I personally never like to celebrate someone losing their job. In other news firing him doesn't fix the main issue the OL now maybe Kitchens with the help of Sale and maybe Calloway might be able to work around it better then Garret did. I just rewatched last year's Browns/Giants game highlights to refresh my memory of the difference between Kitchens and Garrett calling plays. Stats below confirmed the eye test as far more downfield attempts, which is a strength of DJ.

Judge telegraphed it in his PC. Blamed coaching and said they had to score more points.

I never like seeing this stuff happen but it needed to, That said how much will really change they can add some things but the offense is the offense right now and it looks like Jones will be playing in offense #3 next season unless they use these last 7 games as an install, this is so f@#$ed up Jones will be in the same system or a version of it next year as the foundation isn't going to change What will change is hopefully our players being utilized correctly and better playcalling, maybe even letting Jones have more say pre snap...

Part one of more to come. As usual the Giants offseason will be the most interesting and exciting part of their year, not the actual football season that has been over by late October early November almost every year unless they do something stupid like pay the over the hill gang for a playoff appearance that set them back even further. Chowder head Gettlemen is next hopefully the rest of the front office and Chris Mara to.

Great! Now how bout benching a few starters that have stunk up the field all yr & show the entire team that if you can't do your job, they'll put in someone who can. Player are at fault too for not being able to execute plays all yr. I think it's unfair to lay all the blame on Garrett. He didn't throw an Int to a 300+ DLman. Not too many OCs could do much with the manure we have at OLine. Our DL let Brady wave at the fans & text his wife all nite! The game is won/lost in the trenches! All our offensive weapons were playing last nite but DJ was under duress on almost every pass attempt! This team better draft nothing but DL/OL in 22'!

I still lay it at Judge's feet.
Sure, Garrett had to go but he had to go after last season and Judge chose to bring him back.

I'm sure he has somewhat of a say in those matters but I felt like Garret was brought in by Mara.....John was enamored by him. Why? I don't know but it was really weird maybe he was untouchable at that point. Again I don't know. At a minimum at least they get to evaluate Kitchens.....see if it's still the status quo or production improves.

Their opening scripted drives have been their best drives if I'm not mistaken.....then everything seems to go out the window.

Well it's a start. Yes, he was a scapegoat, and yes, the problems on this team go deeper than JG.
But...does anyone really believe that this offense is THAT talentless? Not just this year but last year too? They have been horrible, absolutely horrible. There are players with talent on this offense, they should be better than THIS.
I guess now we will all see one way or the other how much of it was JG won't we?

Garrett definitely wasn’t one of the better offensive minds but I agree, it’s not all on him and anyone who thinks some new OC will come in and things will magically change needs to put the pipe down. Garrett had some downright awful plays but there were also plenty of times, like last night, when there were wide open receivers and Jones would do his one read stare down receivers and throw to the guy who was covered instead of the one who was completely open. I’m not opposed to Garrett being fired but after last night, I’m convinced DJ isn’t the guy and no OC is going to change that.

Need some thought put into what the talent they do have can do if put in better positions to succeed.

Glad Garrett is gone but im sorry , I was a believer in Judge. I thought with some time he could get this organization on the right track. I was wrong. Maybe it was too much to ask to put out this NYG dumpster fire. The guy is learning on the spot to be a head coach. Just not good enough. A damn good coach has to put his stamp on his team after a certain time. What are the Giants? What can we hang our hat on, Special Teams, Defense , Running Game,Passing attack, Scoring, discipline. To me he looks undecisive on the sideline , jittery, idk just not a look of confidence this team needs. He may be a good coordinator on his own but when you bring all facets of a team altogether on the field in live action, some guys just cant cut it. I think we need a head strong experienced leader out there leading the Gmen.

I just hope Kitchens and the rest of the offensive staff can salvage something, and help get Daniel Jones on the right track. Offseason would be so much more straightforward without QB being on the list. Even if QB we’re on the list… 1) they should fix the O-line first 2) this coming draft is not deep in QBs. I would seriously bring in a vet to complete with Jones. I mean really compete. Handing him the job next year at this point hoping he evolves is ridiculous. Simms had to fight off Brunner. Bring in Somebody like Tirod Taylor.
