Is Peart really worse than Solder?

Solder is rated as one of the worst OT's in the NFL. Don't need the ratings to assess how bad he really is. Guys coming off the right edge are in position to take the handoff before our RB's (ok bit of an exaggeration but not far from truth). Can Peart really be worse? If so, none of the injuries affected the right side of the line Gettleman constructed. Hernandez has never looked so bad as he has recently.  Should have kept Zeitler and drafted an OT, end of story.  It really is incredible that this team needs four offensive lineman after all these years with Gettleman.

Which is further proof Gettleman cannot be trusted with the upcoming draft.

I agree he feels he needs to win. But there's no upside to solder. Peart is young and could have some.

Apparently is wasn't breaking news last year either so unless Gettleman is gone, we can expect more players off the scrap heap to try a patch together a block or two per game.

I agree it’s hard to believe. But (not directed at you) the fan base can’t suck and blow at the same time.

If Judge is coaching for his job, getting playing time for younger players isn’t going to save him.

He knows he needs to win and if he (and Kitchen) are playing Solder that tells us all we need to know about Peart right now.

This is the downside of firing coaches every 2 years. They don’t care about the future. Why should they?

or maybe we can go center in Round 2 or, like sheep, get sucked in by mock drafts,  change direction and suddenly be adamant about going center at #5 overall.    Good value.  

Back to reality, Peart might be a guard or solid run blocker.  Possibly injury yet there has to be a pass blocking reason he’s not in.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya! What happened to all the DG homers telling us how great the O line would be with Sale coaching them? Hernandez worked hard all off season and with the proper coaching Peart would show us all why DG drafted him. Who was it that said after one game that what DG did with this O line after the injuries was “nothing short of a miracle”?

The fact is, 3 guys that DG and Judge had slated to start are still out there and Lemieux was one of the worst guards in the league last year “but he looked ok for a few series this year”! The only guy that really may have helped this line a little was Gates but let’s not kid ourselves and act like the O line would be that much better with Lemieux and Gates. Only DG supporters and homers are that out of touch with reality and we all know who they are.

You’re spot on with the RB though, obviously Barkley isn’t the answer, hopefully there’s a RB worthy of drafting in the top 10, maybe top 5, even if we have to trade both our firsts to move up. The O line will be fine next year once we get Lemieux and Gates back, remember DG and Judge said they liked who they had going into this season. Next year we’ll finally get to see their masterpiece barring any more injuries. MAYBE we can draft O line in the 5th or later just for depth.

A stop sign would be better than Solder. The Giants invested a 3rd round pick with Peart, the least they can do is see what they have with him. This spot duty, and giving him a pitch count doesn’t work. We know what we have with Solder, a run down over the hill nice guy. If Peart is a bust, let’s see for ourselves before we make any further decisions.

Sadly if they keep trotting Solder out there, then that is pretty damning against Peart. I can't imagine any real scenario where they would play Solder over him other than Peart is worse.

That is a scary proposition. Unfortunately I think it's reality

Yeah I'm hoping he is in the mix for choices but you never know what good RBs will be there at the top of the draft to make this FO choose that instead..

There is nothing wrong with all these Getty draft picks it's the coaching and front office that are the problem..
How everyone doesn't see this is a mystery!!! 

You can count out drafting any oline in the 5th or later that's only for the starting LBs and CBs...

he’s the latest “generational” safety.  A 6’4 220lb rangy safety.  Still a prospect who appears to have some very favorable traits.  

Not surprising, he’s perfect vs modern day offenses yet not a peep from those posing to be modern day experts.

I think we’d definitely see Peart out there if Judge felt safe. He doesn’t, so it’s what do they look like today.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Peart has 300% more upside, but I have the same level of confidence that Solder is better than Peart right now because Judge needs to win. They’re playing the best that they’ve got unfortunately.

And I don’t buy into anyone (not you) suggesting they can’t evaluate performance. I know that’s coming with my comment. That’s because some people’s narratives that this is a coaching problem are getting shattered by watching this line play. So the last straw grasped for is “the back ups must be better than these guys”. Nope. This staff is in survival mode. This is as good as it gets with this roster.
