What’s that we’re smelling in the air: oh yeah, it’s an upset. No one is giving the New York Giants much of a chance going up against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville in Week 1. The Titans have been listed as strong favorites, with countless experts out there expecting Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry to power the AFC South side to a victory. Not so fast. While yes, there’s plenty of question marks surrounding the G-Men, this is still a team that features plenty of talent. Will they be able to stun the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 11? We think so, and here’s three reasons why. 3. Saquon Barkley will have a game to remember There’s no one who is more ready for this moment than Saquon Barkley. All offseason, Barkley had to deal with constant hate and outside noise. There were trade rumors, including ones that had him going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and more. Instead of leaving town, Barkley has stayed put and he’s motivated to have a huge year. Things will start with a monster game against the Titans. With the new offense being implemented by Brian Daboll and Mika Kafka, Barkley is going to have every opportunity to show he’s still an explosive player. Whether it be recording carries or receptions, Barkley is going to be ready to have his number called. Barkley was fantastic this summer, reminding people several times of how special he can be. It’s going to be on No. 26 to live up to the hype and prove all of his doubters wrong. Look for Barkley to flirt with 150 total yards and a pair of touchdowns. Will that come in a Giants victory? You better believe it. 2. Daniel Jones will have a big game himself Is this wishful thinking? Potentially, but let’s gamble a little bit folks. All eyes are going to be on Daniel Jones come Week 1. There’s surely more pressure on him against the Titans than Barkley. Everyone outside of East Rutherford has been writing Jones off, saying this will 100 percent be his final season with the G-Men. With the team making the easy call to not pick up his fifth-year option, Jones must have a big year or be out of a job. This could very well be his last chance to remain a starter in the NFL. We think he’s going to end up rising to the occasion and get things done in a big way against the Tennessee defense. While starting left guard Shane Lemieux has been placed on the Injured Reserve and will miss the first four games of the year, left tackle Andrew Thomas, center Jon Feliciano, right guard Mark Glowinski and right tackle Evan Neal will do everything possible to give Jones time vs. the Titans. We’ll predict Jones to finish with 255 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a close win. 1. The real Kenny Golladay will show up for the Giants We’re sticking with offense and we’re sticking with our guns in having faith in players who might be questionable picks. Yes, we’re inviting Kenny Golladay to the party. It’s been a month to forget for the standout wide receiver. Matter of fact, things just haven’t gone according to plan for No. 19 since he arrived in New Jersey. Golladay has been blasted by the fanbase this summer after he’s been spotted going at less than 100 percent both in practice and during preseason action. It’s not what you’d expect from someone who signed a four-year, $72 million deal not too long ago. Golladay wants to bounce back in 2022, though, after a terrible 2021. He’ll have the chance to make some major noise vs. the Titans. This will be the kind of game where Golladay can really get his NY career back on track. People were calling for him to either get traded or cut in recent weeks. Golladay could win back the hearts of so many if he can post something in the range of seven receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown. If the Giants want to pull off this upset, they’ll need the offensive weapons to rise to the occassion. Obviously, the list includes Golladay, who has what it takes to get back to his No. 1 WR form. gmenhq.com/2022/09/06/ny-giantts-upset-tennessee-titans-week-1/3/

If we cannot stop Henry. Those 3 parameters will be nullified. slowing him down will be the focus. That can be done bu the NYGs D of course and the TOP for offense keeping Henry off the field.

That's all that has to happen for the win..
I'm going to start expecting this game as a win on Sunday..
Nice that the Giants will be one of the top 16 teams going into week 2..

McKinney will have a sack and a pick 6. Aaron Robinson will have 8 passes defended and two interceptions. Kadarius Toney will run for two TDs on screen passes (I like this one!) Daniel Bellinger will set an NFL record for yards by a rookie TE in his first game with 160.. but this is a long shot. Sadly, Daniel Jones will run headlong for a TD into Bud Dupree in the fourth quarter and leave the game on a cart.

the odds of Golladay , Barkley and DJ all having a great game is a long one for sure just have to win the turnover battle and stop Henry on top of the quoted. That’s all.

Even though I hope it's true - the author lost me at #1: 1. The real Kenny Golladay will show up for the Giants
If he looked like a WR #1 in preseason...I'd be all in...but he was most remembered for dropping passes and missing blocks.
I think #2 and #3 are more likely.

D front and LBs have to shed blocks and get to Henry to gang tackle
At the second level he goes into beast mode

There are no plodding backs in the NFL. But I hear what you are saying Dude has it all. Speed, power, vision, awesome stiff arm, catches out of the backfield, yrds after contact and even throws the ball here and there.

The unknown vs the known
Our staff all have been in the AFC and know what the Titans do on both sides of the ball.
The Titans have no clue what we will be doing,he'll none of us know other than to speculate (all I can theorize is the slip/missle screen will be a staple play and Jones will be playing 80% out of shotgun with a lot of RPO and an option route based offense)
If our staff is as good as we hope and we execute we have a half to jump them big time, and if we hold them in check it takes Henry out of the game somewhat (hoarding the ball and ball control is meaningless if we don't get out to a 2 score lead because they can ball control us back and keep it close or get a lead otherwise)
Also They have a completely new WR core..a rookie that while many of us felt would be a year 1 replacement for Brown(my theory of trading your top guy for a high pick used for a direct replacement for WRs is in full effect here ),a guy coming off an ACL (Woods)and....
They also lost Harold Landry...huge blow as it will make our tackles job a little easier ...

I for 1 would be very happy to see any of those 3 options take place. But this is all wishful thinking, there is no reason to expect any of this to happen. I think were all guessing the Giants are running Saquon and throwing to him on swings and LBer isolation routes. The play action spreading the ball all over on short quick passes trying to break free. Jones scrambles on break downs.
This is going to be our offense, our defense hopefully plays respectable.
I would be pleasantly surprised if we walk away with a victory. I will be rooting hard for Big Blue. Not putting money on it.

I can’t see any reason the Giants would beat a well coached team that has been together for a while.

Tenn line dominated Cincy in their last game. I hope we have a LG and Center that can handle them. Sounds like a 3-4 way choice for LG right now. Wonder who it will be. I would ask our pass rushers who they have the toughest time against.

Giants will be doing on both sides of the ball just as KC, Bills, and Raven did. But that won't help much as plays vary depending on opponents defense. Also there are hundreds of plays to view.
On the other hand, newly signed Marcus Johnson was in Titans camp.

I think our best chance to win games we “shouldn’t” will be in the first 4-6 weeks before the opponents have a lot of film on our offense and defense. I’m also more confident in our D line than I am the secondary. Tannehill doesn’t scare me and without Brown their offense took a big hit but I don’t trust our secondary at all. I could see us keeping Henry in check but getting beat in the passing game. *and I know power rankings don’t mean anything, especially before a game has even been played, but most of the rankings I’ve seen have the Titans around 20th. They’ve lost a few key players, a lot of writers/analysts are down quite a bit on them this year.
