The answer is yes they can save salary and cap space but will they? They may not want to upset X. Risking your career in a risky adventure shows poor judgment and hurts your team. Smart ❌ Dependable❌ I hoped he would be fined but losing salary is better. And SCREW upsetting him... they should read him the riot act! Its hard to know where to draw the line. Do you want to upset a guy that was honest and has done everything else right in his career? If you docked his salary would it help the team more than it hurts team morale.

Or should they simply say 'There, there now. No worries!'... and kiss the boo-boo?

Maybe make everyone run laps because of X so they can all joke and get on him.

We want to be mad at the guy but really...it was just an unforeseeable accident. Let's just hope he gets back in 4 weeks.

At the very least he should no longer be a team captain……only idiots get injured like he did on an off week…..truly a moronic move.

If he got hurt while screwing around on it then I would agree it's disappointing. Pretty sure we will never know if that was the case and I'm disappointed he'll be missing the Cowboys game..

we have one guy pretending to be hurt so he can get traded How do you know that's the case and not him being healthy enough to play but Daboll not GAF? Guess we will see for sure very soon . I’m going off of what he said in his tweet .. what I do know for sure is trading the 20th pick overall for a conditional 3rd and 6th is not a win for us in any way .. we don’t need anymore average players on this team .. if we had other receivers as good as toney I wouldn’t mind the trade but they just traded one of our more talented guys away for peanuts .. it just seems when it comes to personnel we are always on the losing side

Overall, it sucks and if he violated his contract in any way then punish him accordingly, otherwise, people get hurt stepping off of curbs, and for some of us older guys, just waking up in the morning. In this case, maybe he exacerbated it by popping wheelies, jumping ramps, etc. who knows except for whoever was there or people inside the organization? Otherwise, it is next man up....which is getting pretty close to getting the guy closest to the entrance running the tailgate.
Also, I think Kruunch has been influencing a lot of posters. I see more and more quips.

We don't really know the particulars around how much of an accident it was versus pure recklessness. However, he's been nothing but a serious professional in his time here and so I expect him to learn from it and continue with his ascending career with the Giants.

The Toney trade has ZERO to do with is potential on the field.

I also don’t understand the “more talented guys” mantra. Toney? The dude has barely played for us in two years. And what’s this talent level assessment based on? His ability to make a cut after catching the ball? The dude has had one good game his entire career. During a 44-20 blowout loss. He also thought it was smart to throw a punch and get tossed from the game!! Some of these fans are hilarious..

The McKinney news doesn't sound good today. Neither X nor Dabes would say he will be back this season. Had surgery on multiple fingers. Hand in cast with sling. Hopefully 4 weeks but nothing firm.

Now he can be remembered in the same vein as Plaxico Burress and JPP. That is sure an interesting way for a Captain to act. ahh....no. not quite that severe. I am annoyed but lets keep a little perspective.

he's lucky it wasnt worse. When ATVs start to flip or go over the first instinct is to put your hands out. All kinds of weight coming down and a surface of rocks and dirt make for a treacherous place for your hand. If you are belted in and the vehicle has a roll cage the best thing is too fold your hands across your chest or grab onto the hand holds inside the vehicle. Let the safety harness and roll cage do their jobs. Hope he is only out 4 weeks but I bet its 6.

When ATVs start to flip or go over the first instinct is to put your hands out. It wasn't a run of the mill ATV. It was a Can-Am. Most of those are pretty hard to flip. But who knows... <edit> unless it was maybe a 3-wheeler

Who doesn't enjoy the brilliance of a team captain taking responsibility for not taking responsibility?

But who knows... <edit> unless it was maybe a 3-wheeler Can Am makes standard off road 4 wheelers. No way it was a 3 wheeler off road. I have ridden big off road 4 wheel drive bikes. They tip pretty easy if you lean the wrong way in a turn and have a little speed. Can Am are no different then other brands big 4 wheel bikes. Not saying they arent well built etc but there are basics you need to know and adhere to.

It’s refreshing to have someone admit full responsibility for something they are fully responsible for

it is what it is. Probably seemed like a low risk ride and these tours are just that. However there is always a chance for an incident. especially if you have no idea what you are doing and its the first time or you have limited experience.
He is saying the right things and now just needs to heal up
