Does anyone think that the President would agree to this?

I can't believe he's still on this team.
And no, I don't think the president will accept the invitation.

I think the only reason that Mark is still on the team is because of his special team skills..

I think the only reason that Mark is still on the team is because of his special team skills.. Which are what exactly? He gets hurt it's what he does. The previous 5 seasons prior to 2017 Herzlich missed a grand total of 3 games out of the 80 games. Not exactly "injury prone" as you imply.

He made a simple statement and everyone wants to denigrate his skills? I have a lot of respect for him beating the bone cancer in his leg. The doctors just wanted to save his life, and the leg, and here he is playing Pro football, still, 9years after the cancer struck. He isn't a great player... he's a below average pro LB... but, he has been solid all these years on our special teams. No one beat him out for that role or he would have been gone years ago...so how about giving the guy a break and appreciate his years of effort on our team.

He wants him to talk to players instead of making blind statements about players that really lack merit? Why exactly does that piss everyone off? I don't really know why he's still on the roster, but even with DG around he's still here for now so that tells me he brings some value. As far as his comments, his comments showed some thought and consideration, that's more than you could say about poorly thought out tweets in the opposite direction. Full disclosure is that I generally support Trump(sorry for political statement), but he certainly doesn't give full thought or filter to many of the things he puts out for public consumption. It's one of the reasons that many of his successes so far as president are roundly ignored, because this media hungry generation only cares about that crap. I will now self impose a 20 minute ban for speaking politically, my apologies.

For one its a totally rhetorical statement.
Secondly its not his fault he is still on the team is it?? They sign him and he plays.
What did he really say that was so bad? He is sticking up for his teammates in the NYGs locker room. Thats a bad thing?? Since when??

Like I said earlier I don't think the President would agree to come but like you said GT he's sticking up for his teammates and I don't see that as a bad thing...

Who gives a crap what your locker room talk is about.
What in the world does that have to do with standing up for the National Anthem ? He wants the president to come and listen to the players talking about night nurses, yea that's rough.
Just do what the league says, stand up for the Anthem or stay inside. Then yea we can all hang out and talk about nice things, puppy dogs, babies, beautiful sunsets and yes even night nurses.

Then re-read Herzlich's comments. Its directly correlated.

You hold out an olive branch to Trump, he'll use it to scrape dogshit off his shoe! Herzlich is overstepping his bounds. It's not his place to invite anyone anywhere to discuss anything.

Right, The title of the article posted is "Herszlich wants Trump to come to camp to talk with the players". Don't even know why this silly article was written. How many people have said at one time or another they want to talk to a President over the years.
Who cares what Herzlich thinks or wants the decision has been made. He just said something that's not going to happen, lots of us have said this. It doesn't mean a thing, it's the off season anything that generates a reference to the Giants gets attention. Hell the other day we were talking about the long snapper.

A position that has been neglected for over a decade (linebacker) shouldn’t be a compliment to Herz not getting beat out. And to say he has been a good special teams player, care to give examples of his “solid” play on special teams? His best talent is he tries, outside of that he adds nothing to a team. Even when giving the opportunities to play on defense he looks lost. Him beating cancer has nothing to do with his on the field play. I think their is no chance in hell he makes the team this year. And quite honestly he’s been few years past due being cut.

If he was not good enough to be on the team, then you have a gripe against the coaches from these past 6 years, and Giant management. You sure do have a lot of venom for him... I assume in your profession you are in the top 10%, and all of your colleagues praise your performance. The man does his best, and the Giants choose to pay him for his efforts. NY Giants are not a charitable organization. If they had someone they deemed better we would have already said goodbye to Herz

LOL, I know and I get it but one .There is no need to talk trump and the Giants together.I am old enough to remember all of trumps BS from the WFL and the shit he talked about Wellington Mara. I am sick of the whole politics and NFL thing. We should be arguing football not standing or kneeling and certainly not DT. I admired MH for his cancer fight and admired the Giants for standing behind him and with him but that train was up about four years ago ,he just isn't productive in a football sense and he sure as hell doesn't help anything with dumb comments like this one.
