It's strange that Danny is getting all sorts of positive media attention and that we really don't know much about him ourselves. Likely because he has the most vanilla interviews ever (more vanilla than Eli) and because the team was so bad his first 3 seasons no one paid much attention to him. Idk if comparing him to Mahomes is a good take, we've yet to see any indication he can play at that level. Hopefully with the upgrades around him this year we'll see it but until then I'd hold off on reading in to any comparison of him to Mahomes. I believe Mahomes does everything that Reid that Mcnabb wasn't capable of. Donovan Mcnabb wasn't a bad QB he just had a limited skillset that could only go so far in Andy Reid's offense. Similarly Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick weren't able to execute Andy's offense at a high level either. My best way to describe it would be Andy had a brilliant idea, he just didn't have the right resource until he found Mahomes. What I do know is I'm thankful Philly fired him, could you imagine if he stayed and the Eagles drafted Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Mahomes, Kareem Hunt and everyone else who contributed to the Chiefs dominance, I wouldn't want to face that twice a year. 1. Brett Veach is the one who chose Mahomes 2. If he stayed with the Eagles, he would have 0 rings 3. He didn't have the right resources until he found Mahomes? He's becoming on of the most prolific QBs ever and FAST. Any team that chose Mahomes would be super-bowl contenders every year and yes EVERY team 1. Brett Veach worked for Andy Reid for 8 years in Philadelphia as scout, when Andy was hired by KC in 2013, he took Veach with him to be his pro & college analyst, working his way up to eventually become the GM in 2017. All of the player personnel in KC are connected to Andy & Brett dating back to their Philadelphia days. My brother lives in New England, one of his friends has been a scout for the Chiefs since 2013 and was a scout for the Eagles from 2007-2012. 2. debatable, with Howie's GM skills and Andy's scouting department if they built the Eagles with a mix of their minds they would have built a juggernaut. Though that was the issue, Howie didn't care about Andy's vision. 3. Correct, he didn't have the right resources until he found Mahomes. Donovan Mcnabb, Kevin Kolb, Michael Vick, Vince Young, Alex Smith all played great for him but were not capable of that next level. The skillset Mahomes brings to the table enables Reid's vision to reach it's potential.

It’s as controversial news sells so sell it. How many years did we defend Eli from the media critics when they knocked him yet he was playing well? On the flip side, later in his career the media defended him yet we knew he looked awful. Collinsworth is one of many weirdos. Smart guy yet too many of his takes are often weird. A QB creates more time . . . so he’s like Mahomes. It’s like a linebacker getting a sack and somebody claiming he looks like Taylor. Nevermind all that’s missing,

Not my words, Chris Collingsworth(less) Haha. He didn't say that exactly but he does have a point about Jones' ability to maneuver in the pocket, which is a huge assest for the WRs/Oline Skip to about the 2:00 min mark IMPO I would change the title of this thread.

The media can only talk about Aaron Rodgers Jets 23.75 hours a day. They have to mix in an occasional piece about someone else.

Id say he is closer to the NFCs version of Ryan Tannehill Tbh, I was thinking the same thing. As of now, he won't win you games .. and he'll make your team just better enough to warrant him to be a "franchise qb". But I think he's a fringe franchise QB where teams have no choice but to re-sign them.

I am not putting him in the upper tier but lets at least give the kid props where they are due. Also he was signed to keep improving not to stay stagnant. Was not signed to be a "fringe franchise QB".

Id say he is closer to the NFCs version of Ryan Tannehill thats not what Collinsworth meant. Not sure if you listened to the clip. He just meant they way he runs and moves around is similar to Mahomes' game. If you did listen then you are just taking a shot at Jones. BTW...Jones (**** the stats) is a better QB than Tannehill. Jones has not reached his ceiling and Tannehill has. I'm no DJ fanboy but I will stick up for him if I see BS....

This will probably upset some people but I thought DJ out played Mahomes when we played them in Nov 2021. Its just one game and doesn't mean anything but he did 😊

Jones and Mahomes don't belong in he same sentence. Now Jones and Tannehill are very similar in style and talent. Both relied heavily on their RBs taking off the pressure. Look at the splits with and without Barkley for DJ. It's not a shot. Tannehill is a decent QB. He just isn't elite. Jones obviously can move the needle more this year with a big year better OL and better receivers. So let's see if he takes control of it.

Why Patrick Mahomes though? Their styles are nothing a like. Because they both run? Isnt that why they called him Vanilla Vick? How about comparing him to Tom Brady then because both are right handed white QBs and like the color blue? Collinsworth is an idiot and proving it once again. Sorry, I dont get the comparison to Mahomes, the best QB in the game. Thats just stupid. Again, Tannehill is the much better comp. Tannehill runs to extend plays too. And he is much more comparable stat and talent wise. Hell, most QBs run to extend plays now. Now if DJ starts throwing baseball sidearm passes on point, and looking like a video game QB on some plays, while winning games, then we maybe can start comparing their styles. Thats my opinion.

If you go one on one with Waller because of having the saftey on the other side to help with the 3 recievers, Daniel Jones is just going to throw the ball up in the air...... He came back and ran 4.67 and 4.68 afterwards. www.nfl.com/videos/duke-blue-devils-quarterback-daniel-jones-runs-unofficial-4-67-40-yard-da-425968
