. Perhaps it’s because we are still inept on offense? Buffalo D IS decimated by injury. It’s a fact. When healthy they crush the Patriots offense. I get it, hence why I said that explains why we scored a whopping 9 points. Pretty sure their injured defense is still twice as good as that awesome 2nd worst defense in the league DJ gets so much credit for beating all by himself last year. Yep! Imagine being a Bills fan right now? Had all the pieces to compete with the Chiefs and you lose half your defense? Must suck! Not as bad as it is for us Giant fans but tough for them. Also truth, if Tyrod made a better throw to Waller at the end of the Buff game (like the TD throw he made to Waller this week) we win that game.

You assigning subjective narratives that are non-measureable attributes is not "having at least a rudimentary understanding of football." It's merely a mechanism you use to assuage your emotional needs. The good news is you're not alone. The "shell shocked," "he's been Carr'd" narratives have been percolating well amongst the contingency. That “shell shocked” is the biggest bullshit excuse I’ve heard BUT at least he said “it’s time to move on” because if it is true then he’s not as mentally tough as we thought, he’s damaged goods and can no longer do his job effectively. That’s something most of his apologists don’t admit or address. A lot of his fans have also repeatedly said DJ was/is better than Carr and that Carr isn’t that good, but now they say he’s been “Carr’d”. So if that’s the case, and he’s been “Carr’d” then that should mean he is now Carr 2.0 and we should move on but oddly his fans won’t answer that either, they just use it as an excuse, say get a better O line and “just wait”. If he has been “Carr’d” and is really “shell shocked” then a better O line will do little to help him because he’s been permanently traumatized. He will always hear footsteps in his head and god forbid he gets sacked more than twice in a game he may start having flashbacks and suddenly becomes a liability. The “he’s been Carr’d” narrative is the perfectly lazy thing to say that combines and summarizes all the excuses that deflect any and all blame from Jones to every player and coach who has surrounded him. Namely the offensive line, GMs and HCs. It’s amazing to me how 90+ other people can be the problem but not the one constant.

Moving on (if you can put Jones aside), the worst thing you can do is throw a rookie QB behind a line that gets him killed. Forget Jone for one hot minute. How is Howell fairing behind that horrid OL?

Having at least a rudimentary understanding of football is now considered a narrative? Why don't you pick you 10 favorite QB's and do a comparison of their Oline's to the Giants? Now, extend that comparison over 5 years and admit that you are wrong. Also, do you actually believe that getting sacked over 50x a year has no impact on a QB or his development? crazy.... Did you actually miss the part where I said it's time to move on from Jones? You assigning subjective narratives that are non-measureable attributes is not "having at least a rudimentary understanding of football." It's merely a mechanism you use to assuage your emotional needs. The good news is you're not alone. The "shell shocked," "he's been Carr'd" narratives have been percolating well amongst the contingency. It's completely OBJECTIVE that having a competent Oline is fundamentally necessary to winning football. Have you ever heard of winning in the trenches? The Giants Oline have had a bottom 3 to 5 Oline for Jones's entire career. QB's have talent and it's up to organizations to develop that talent. If you put a decent QB in a good situation (Oline with weapons), he will win. If you put a Good QB in a bad situation (Bad Oline and mediocre weapons) he will lose. There are outlier games and even outlier seasons but over time, the league will chew up good Qb's and spit them out. Take a look at Joe Burrow this year. The Bengals have a BETTER Oline than the Giants and Burrow looks like a chump.

Some here can’t have any conversation if it does not include beating a dead horse Jones even more. I’m already thinking about the next QB.

I have never been accused of being a Jones apologist, I tell it like it is. Before last year, I thought that Jones might not even make it as a backup in the NFL. Jones had a good year and now he looks scared and broken out there. I want the Giants to lose every football game 0 - 3 so at least we know we have a great defense and they can rebuild this pathetic offense (QB and Oline). WTF does 5 to 6 wins do for the Giants? They still miss the playoffs and probably have to mortgage their future to move up and grab a top QB that would start behind this POS Oline...

I agree, DG ****ed over Barkley and Jones by having no O line and no other weapons except each other BUT over the past 5 years DJ has had some opportunities and hasn’t capitalized on them, he’s still making rookie mistakes. I’ve seen enough, it’s time to put him out to pasture after next year.

He didn’t hold a gun to anyone’s head to make them pay him. He didn’t build the team around him. As bad as he might be, I do appreciate his willingness to put himself at risk physically. Dude, at a minimum, is a warrior even if he is a below average QB. Guy gets killed every week gets up and tries again. I don’t know how some here can’t see that. Yes, time to move on but the guy did the best he could do and he deserves at least that acknowledgment. Yes, he got paid but he also got a beating for it.

I still say they should draft a top QB if they are in position without giving up much. It sucks but they will need to hit on some picks, pick some guards up in FA and work it out. Jones is washed...

Then sit the kid, start Tyrod if you want to until the OL is good enough for a rookie QB to survive, not take a beating and learn.

We’ve had Washington’s number on speed dial.. Besides a few dropped calls.. we have flatlined the heart of the nation. This is the same team that got stampeded by Buffalo. And made Justin Fields forget that he sucks. They have been more Hyde than Jekyll. We set the tone from jump when we butchered that embarrassment for an offensive line. And fed Howell to the earth.. Martindale outsmarted.. outclassed.. and left Bieniemy out to dry.
This game was never close regardless of the score.. Washington’s offense which should be shot never stood a chance. We gave them two gifts and all they could come up with is a measly seven points. Riverboat Ron who’s sinking in a sea of stupidity.. is dangling over a shark infested waters. As each loss piles on.. the weight of new ownership will ultimately drown him. This win proved nothing.. but it keeps the jackals at bay. I’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss..

Even if we eventually cut DJ it's not till the end of next season. And then I believe we still eat 25 mil on the cap. So for the remaining 10 games do we start DJ or sit him and play Tyrod ? If were moving on we need to be in the 1st 3 teams drafting probably the first two picks.
Of course having Saquon on the field helps any QB. But Tyrod is moving the offense and at least giving us a chance to score. Do we give DJ a chance to run this offense the way it is now also ?
As of today going into Game 8 I'm starting Tyrod vs the Jets. This is going to be one tough game for our offense. Let Tyrod continue to start for the next 2 weeks at the least. Screw mgmt. that a 40 million dollar QB this year is on the bench. At least for 2 more weeks. And it might be best for DJ's neck anyway.
