Spent as much money as the could and sit in silence. Expectations are low, that’s for sure. They are saying the right things but I assume come mid summer we will further build the farm selling Alonso. I hope not, but our division is a bear. We definitely aren’t better than Braves or Phils and Marlins is debatable. |

I’m wholly unexcited for the season. My expectations are low. Good thing MLB TV comes free with my phone plan. I don’t think I’d pay for it this season.

I'm excited to possibly see some young talent play and/or develop this year. How fun will it be to see a couple of young kids overachieve and make this team competitive. I'm actually glad they didn't spend big on fa pitchers. I like winning as much as the next fan, but one aging "ace" isn't going to make that much of a difference. Just look at the current situation with Jake, Max and scherzer. Mets looking smart at this point. |

Was just watching the Mets on sny. Wanted to see diaz pitch. I saw not even one batter an all of a sudden the video froze and when it came back amazing home runs was on instead of the game. This is on Hulu.
Anybody else having issues?

Megill may have some new pitches this season that will help, but the dude still can't throw strikes. And when he misses, it's not even close to being a strike. He has no control.

Holy hell did anyone see Lindor “blocking the bag” today? Get ready for some more fan infuriation this season. Alvarez had the guy by 8 feet. Unreal.

So even if your toe partially "blocks" the base the runner is safe? Are you supposed to have to completely get out of the way and lean over to make the tag? Wow. |

Quintana doesn't make it through 5 innings. Mets have 1 hit in 5 innings. Not the best start.
Edit: the Mets were 1 hit on opening day for the first time in history. 🙄
