don't know who Robert Hunt is and gotta look him up .......... Hunt is a good player. The problem with TEM is he thinks signing Hunt and keeping Neal at RT is somehow a better, less incompetent, move than signing Onwenu. However Onwenu is a better OG than Hunt AND he can play RT. Onwenu makes the most sense if we can afford him. I would absolutely take Hunt though and wouldn't bash people or the coaches for either signing.
Notice he still hasn't come up with a reason not to sign Onwenu other than he would rather sign Hunt.
Owhenu wants tackle money he is repping himself that means starting tackle cash Andrew Thomas money he is a good player if he is reasonable yes if not Hunt and or Eliuminore should be on the radar and by now the Giants might be going after one or both of them first.

I would also have no problem with bringing Zeitler back I was pissed when we lost him. But now? at 34? I'd sure like at least 2-3 good years out of a FA Guard. Played really well last year and takes tremendous care of himself. Not talking long-term deal … maybe 1-2 years

I like Hunt..a lot. Great tape. First off, he is a tremendous pass protection blocker, with feet to mimic the best 3 techs. The most impressive aspect of his game is he is scheme versatile. He climbs quickly, and hits the gap equally well, zone and gap/man…that’s 12 million a year good, and a player far more important than any east west running back who has a tough time finding the hole to send his pigskin through…remember, it’s the one that is open and doesn’t cause discomfort while entering it.
I believe we still pick a right tackle in the draft because I am not stamping the injured excuse on Neal. His injuries do not have any effect on his play, or should I say lack of. What we have seen screams move me inside to left guard. Ideally we get a tackle that can do both tackle and guard on a rookie contract vs 20 million per and then having him play a guard position, as I am not overpaying for Onweno and would rather overpay for Danielle Hunter. If we are using cap space pay for the premium positions, and please do not overpay for average, below average or one dimensional. You want a defensive end or edge, make sure he plays the run as well as his bend..wide receivers that can do more then make 50/50 catches and tackles that are finished products in college…and get the plug and play stamp of approval.
I’m also worrying about our center as well….if he continues the year being the worst blocker in all of football, from pop Warner, high school, flag, 2 hand touch and college…we should have another pick to play guard that can also play center. We have a weak IOL class, but at the 2 round level we have 2 or 3 very good ones.

Yes and I've always said if we can afford him. We might not be able to. This is a good year for OL in free agency and the draft so we should not feel like we MUST sign Onwenu. I really like Hunt, he's OG #1 on my list of free agents. Eluminore is a not thanks unless we are just looking for a body to compete for RT and he is really cheap.

I would pay hunt top Guard dollars he can do it all at a high level he would be target #1 and I would look at Eluminiore also he could play both Guard and both tackles. Then I'm moving to Huff on the other side of the ball and either the guy they had in yesterday Williams or JC Jackson which I think if Williams is gone on to his next visit he isn't coming here.

Landon Dickerson's extension may have put the top G market out of reach for us Damn, top guards are now being paid 2 to the dollar vs elite running backs, Finally, the LOS and IOL getting paid for what they are worth. Sure took the league long enough to realize the Eagles won their superbowl because of their IOL, so does not surprise me Howie Roseman was the guy to spend it. BTW, Landon is 6'6 for all the Neal is too tall to play guard. Damn, loved that kid in Alabama...just so many major injuries. Looks like we now draft some guard and say hell to the surplus receivers that come out each and every year. This is the year to get the right tackle, AND versatile plug and play guy on the IOL. Who said Bowers at pick 6?

I'd still entertain Hunt and Danielle Hunter with solid offers.

Hunt just signed for 5 years, $20m per.
He was way out of reach for us. Wonder what Onwenu will get.
