Remember last year with all the FA signings and hope! We sign these FA's and they never play up to the hype! Last year was a disaster! I think Lock will beat Jones out for the starting QB position! We will also TRY to get a top QB in the draft! The OL should be better, but they are not long term solutions! With the HARD cap, unlike MLB, all teams lose players and sign players. Its the never ending perpetual "Merry-Go-Round"! As salaries climb in the bidding wars, the hard cap gets squeezed and players are let go even if they are still playing at a high level! We are fans of Mercenaries!

Lock is not going to beat Jones out for the starting role. Lock is going to be this years Tim Couch.

am I the only one on this board who thought Tyrod did a decent job for us?

Agreed on hope
Schoen’s job to to build a good team not rob Peter to pay Paul.
I like the focus on positional value, but this team has holes at QB, WR1, DE, corner and S and the OL is broken until I see it fixed.
Huge draft for him. All 32 teams get to draft, his needs to be special.

I honestly haven't seen anyone get overly excited over the last few days. We've made moves that should improve us, and get us on the path to be a consistenly good team, but who knows. If we don;t fix the O line with the changes we've made, and our QBs perform at the level of last year, our boat will be sunk once again..

People can both be excited and keep their expectations to a moderate level at the same time. I haven't seen a single Giants fan act like we are worldbeaters all of a sudden.

they suck until they dont. no excitement at all. I keep saying that all too often. 2022 made us think, maybe, maybe we are about to turn the corner and not be the NFLs sphincter. Then, 2023 came.

Umm screw you man*. I'm excited as hell. Why? Because it's March and the only thing I can do is day dream about Burns, Thibs and Dex tearing up the opposing Os and Jones getting protected and lighting up the scoreboard like every week is the 2nd half of the Cardinals game. The best thing is until September none of you negative nellies can prove that won't happen lol. Reality as a Giants fan hurts, living in a 'best case scenario' world from March-September makes football tolerable.
*I mean that is the nicest possible way, just in case anyone takes offense.

Im always excited to see what impact changes will have.
But I understand complex organizational systems. You make changes, and test outcomes.
You don’t assume “There. Nailed it”.

am I the only one on this board who thought Tyrod did a decent job for us? He was the best QB on the team every year he was here. He was easily better than Jones when he played last year and had he not been injured I think he would have been even better than what we saw.

I like seeing the young kids that they draft, I do have to admit great talents like OBJ SQB I enjoyed seeing them do things not many if any could do, hopefully Banks and Thibs and this years number 1 will put a big smile on my face the same way.

All we can says is they're a better team than they were last week. I will say this last year they ended the season a much better team than the first half team part of that was Taylor letting it rip throwing out side the numbers hitting hole shots and using the middle as well. If they can get that from Jones or Lock at least they will be fun to watch if they don't rip it I think the leash will be short Daboll doesn't want his seat any warmer than it is

Yea I think having a partner in Burns and rotational guy in Azeez is gonna help him a ton azeri will most likely be spelling them both Thibs to me took way to many snaps last year. Agree Thibs is coming into his own one trait that he has is he has some big 3rd down sacks over the last 2 years there's guys that get sacks but timing matters some guys pile up meaningless sacks.

am I the only one on this board who thought Tyrod did a decent job for us? I also thought TT was the most effective QB last year. Maybe he was too old or too expensive or he didn't want to come back.

I think he has the opportunity to make up to 20M over 2 years on the deal he signed with incentives. We weren't going to get anywhere near that for him. Paying Lock 1/2 that for one year...

am I the only one on this board who thought Tyrod did a decent job for us? He won 2 games and got injured but threw enough deep balls to keep people excited I guess. Classic Tyrod season. Not saying Tyrod was bad but I remember listening to a Giants podcast before the season when a caller questioned Tyrod's skill and Paul Dottino went ballistic saying Tyrod was the best backup in the NFL and got mad at the caller. I get what the caller was saying...I thought Paul was out of line. Very elusive with a good deep ball but erratic outside of that...didn't have the accuracy on short and medium, "IT factor", and clutch. People talk about the tablet flip when Jones missed Waller vs Seattle but the Daboll ran on the field to chase after Tyrod and get in his face after abysmal game management at the end of the 1st half which was a lot more aggressive. That game came down to the final play...so you can say the game/lock management lost us the game. We won those tight ones the year before.

If your saying DJ is better than Tyrod he should be but we really don't know 5 years into it.
