From everyone knowing our business.. To not even light escaping our building.. The Giants found out the hard way that loose lips not only sink ships. But they can also talk your way out of a player. No one can get a bead on Schoen.. It’s all second guessing and trying to retrace his steps. Stick to the plan.. Do your homework as everyone is asleep. And hit them hard when the time comes.

It's way more than just showing interest...some players meet with team doctors and do medicals (Williams did them with Chicago, not at the combine). Also, going to dinner let's them ask questions about traffic, teammates, arrests, troublesome family members, coaching conflicts, hours spent studying film, maybe the number of press that were at Michigan games (vs NY media)...it's a good way to see how people handle stressful situations and how they might deal with NY.
Why would the Giants need to trick Minn, Den, or Oakland? They watched DJ suck for 6 games last year and they all know the Giants need a QB. The Giants will get one of the top 4 QBs or a top 3 WR...no need for games. This idea that the Giants are the smartest team in the room, is silly. The other teams are doing what's best for them, not being tricked by Schoen.

That is true but they can get to very good players with the trade if they believe Nabers or Harrison is that much better than what they think will be their at 11 and 23 then they might stick who though? Cards go Harrison now the Giants likely go WR. Let’s say Nabers Titans I’d say OT yet they might go WR Falcons should go Ol yet they too on that turf could go WR Chicago goes WR Odunze Jets got OT or maybe Bowers Now the Chargers? They need a starter at WR being they only have 2 on the roster. Actually a 3rd body too quite a drop I have to look at it but that looks realistic given teh fact the Giants are probably gonna get shut out of the top QBs if this is the case do they even draft a QB I mean I don't like Penix or Nix using as second rounder where you know there will be position players graded higher. Lot of people hate Rattler but i think he brings good value in teh 3rd and actually has the traits to be an NFL starter.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Harbaugh want OLine as much as he likes to run the ball.

There's rumors Giants like JJ... I don't know what to make of it. Why would Giants spread this rumor, what do they benefit for tricking Vikings into jumping them as someone just alluded to... Given the top 3 QBs are gone, Giants are guaranteed one of the top three WRs, Bowers or best Tackle if they go that route. Why would they smokescreen interest in JJ?
I think they have real interest in him. They won't trade up for him, but if he drops to them they will get him.
Giants have knack for showing their hand... A couple years it was Devontae Smith, allowing HR to jump them. Before that it was the rumor they were interested in Dan Jones in 2019..it's like they are stuck playing checkers while others are playing chess

If they really want JJ McCarthy, they really are screwing it all up. Reminds me of the Devonta Smith year. Everyone knows we wanted him, including Philly. I think this is all an attempt to try and get Marvin Harrison Jr to be there at 6

They should meet with all the top prospects, if for nothing else, to cover their bases (ok, maybe skip Williams, since it is all but certain he'll go top 2). As I've said before, I sincerely hope we do not trade up for any of the QBs, none of them wow me enough, and we need the picks that we have (If we could trade up one, and only give out #6 and no other first or second round pick, I might consider it, but don't think that's realistic). If the Vikings jump us, we get one more positional player to choose from, I see that as a big positive. I'm guessing that Harrison JR will be the first non-QB taken, that would leave everyone else for us to pick from. If he is on the board at 6, I'd run that card up so fast, you would think it was the Flash delivering it!!!

That's not what I'm saying. What is the reason why JJMcCarthy is the QB connected to the Giants by most pundits and scouts? It's either they love JJ which would be bad, or this is a smokescreen. Either way, it appears they are targeting JJ more than the other QBs. So much so they are now predicting other teams will jump the Giants for JJ. As I said, if they love JJ, they should be clamoring about how great it would be to add a target like Brock Bowers to Daniel Jones arsenal.

Because all the pundits make about 25 different mock drafts each and they are all guessing. It's fans doing all the clamoring. The Giants are doing their due diligence nothing more. The Giants have met with WR all so what does that tell you, they met with players at the combine. Seems like no matter who the Giants take there is already a factor of fans that are going to bitch that they screwed up.

I have to agree I think teams that trade down need to have a plan A /B and C when a player that a team like SD knows can help them be a great offense is sitting in front of them there is little reason to move just to move, they are picking again top of the second round there will be some really good OLs there too.

LOL this is a practice Earnie Accorsi used from time to time I believe back then when asked some of the top draft picks said the Giants showed little to no interest, pretty sure I read that more than once when he was running things.

Also todays NFL is a different animal with social media everyone knows almost everything going on. I said it before think a lot of this is speculation wonder what Schoen would do if Maye Williams and McCarthy and Daniels were all sitting there, would it still be JJ. I because of where they are in the draft it's pretty easy math JJ right now is #4 in the writers and fans minds so at 6 before the Viking did their thing the Giants would be the likely landing spot. Now some teams order most likely is different JJ could go before Daniels or Maye in the real world anyway, all it takes is one team to love him in the top 3 or 4. if the Vikings can move up Giants more than likely are out on the top 4.

It is smokescreen season. They've been all over the place with what they're doing and saying. You know what, I love it. As a person that would highly prefer a QB and a trade up if necessary, I like the chaos right now. No one truly knows what the NYG is gonna do. I hope it's a smokescreen but if it's not then then Schoen is a powerless GM. We always had a leaker in the system and many suspected it was one of the untouchables (Chris Mara, McDonnell). If we become so obvious and Schoen is unable to stop this, we're in big doodoo. So I hope with all my might it's a smokescreen but the fact that the little mice are still there makes me worried.

This is a tough one i saw one analytics guy that works for a company that helps NFL teams say Daniels is a great prospect but like Mahomes his best landing spot would be a place where he can sit and learn. His reasoning was is that he doesn't run to create he runs to run that is where the fine line is with QBs that are mobile coaches don't want to pull them back to far, they want them to move to throw and when all else fails use the legs to keep the offense on time, of course sometimes it results in big plays this guy thought he might need some time learning that part of the game heard on one of the crap ton of pods I listen to.

(despite the overall org a mess) Jones is going to start and whomever is drafted gets redshirted. Even if Lock has to start the kid has at least a year to learn. Heck, it worked for Green Bay twice and recently the Chiefs. if Jones plays well that’s a great thing. Maybe the Giants keep or move him. The rookie QB can sit and learn. If it’s more than a year that means the Giants are winning and if he starts that means Jones is replaced.

I would not be shocked if Chicago passes on him.

Still, I see a problem that hasn't been fixed, it's getting out there who we specifically want and that's a problem if they are doing this despite Schoen's efforts to control it.

Boys (and jmike),
Giving a tour and having dinner with JJ should tell you nothing about what they think of him. It’s part of how you form an opinion of him, and what level of draft investment he’s worth.
The real breaking news would be NOT doing this.
For JS, this is called doing your ****ing job.

I think it’s because most pundits/scouts have as much info as fans. They look at our roster, they look at the draft board, and they decide who we should draft. Literally no more analysis than that. So the Giants meet with JJ, which they should or they’re not doing their job, there really isn’t any opinion that can be gleaned from that. Other than scouts/pundits saying we need to upgrade QB and JJ is potentially available at #6, I’ve read nothing that rises above that unsupported speculation. Implying that meeting JJ is because we’re interested in drafting him is like saying going out on a date with someone is because we’re interested in marrying them. Of course that could be the outcome but it ridiculous to make that leap with basically no other info.

It's due to the other 3 QBs expecting to be drafted 1,2,3 leaving the Giants with the 4th best of the group. My first calculation within my algorithm ran over 700 Mock drafts that were conducted for the beginning of October through Last Saturday. The consensus has the highest probability for the pick compared out of the top 20 players. Caleb Williams has a 83.2% chance of being taken with the #1 pick. Drake Maye has a 53% chance of being taken with the #2 pick. (30.6% with pick 3) Jayden Daniels has a 36.7% chance of being taken with the # 3 pick. (22.9% with pick 2) Marvin Harrison Jr. has a 54.9% chance of being taken with the #4 pick. (21% with pick 3) Brock Bowers has a 23% chance of being taken with the # 5 pick (12.4% with pick 10) Malik Nabers has a 31.1% chance of being taken with the # 6 pick (18% with pick 5) Joe Alt has a 39.9% chance of being taken with the # 7 pick (19.2% with pick 5) Dallas Turner has a 28.6% chance of being taken with pick # 8 pick. Rome Odunze has a 22.5% chance of being taken with the # 9 pick. Olumuyiwa Fashanu has a 20.8% chance of being taken with the # 10 Pick (24.6 with pick 7) J.J. McCarthy has a 28.9% chance of being taken with the # 11 pick. Bo Nix has a 25.8% chance of being taken with the # 12 pick. Michael Penix Jr. has a 20.8% chance of being taken with the # 13 pick With an average of 95.6% probability of the top 10 in this order. These scenarios account for any team that holds the pick. (trades) All other probabilities are in the less than 10%. Mostly in the under 5% to 0% range. For Entertainment only. Use my data at your own risk. I do not want to be responsible for any losses that you may incur.

He’s most connected to them because (1) they likely have no chance at the top 3 QB’s (2) he’s the 4th QB and (3) we have a QB need. Just people connecting the dots. Not sure how this could be avoided
