did you read everything I wrote? And if you have been following you should know where I stand I know where you stand. We're more/less in line. Moreso a conversation for the group. Is the 2019 decision to draft Jones worse than the 2023 decision to double down on the sunk cost? I believe Schoen did worse than Getty here. Which for most GMs in NFL history, means you're shit outta luck. I don’t see Schoen worse than Gettleman here. Schoen tied up cash for two years after a QB made the playoffs and didn’t opt for going shopping in the free agent market or draft a QB late. Gettleman not only drafted Jones but had $50 million in dead money not on the field (Eli, OBJ, JPP, etc) and you know he would have resigned Jones for a heck of lot more than Schoen did. No way Gettleman ever admitted he was wrong. Barkley would be here too for probably $20 million per year. I don’t see any doubling down when he have a QB with health issues and competency issues. I see it as a plus to go QB and if Jones plays well, great, keep him or move him. If Jones fails then go with the new QB. I think that’s safer than banking on Jones with nothing behind him

. Look at Murrays production his first three years. That's what got him paid. Having said that, I'm sure Cards regret that decision now especially after he tore his ACL in 2022. Still, he had a better body of work when he got his deal, compared to DJ who only has that one playoff win against an historically bad Vikings Defense And Murray has none..............keep trying. You asked a question and I proved you wrong. You proved me wrong, how so? Right, because winning a single playoff game is the end all be all. We had this same discussion multiple times in different threads. Using your reasoning, Mark Sanchez has 4 playoff wins.. does that means he was deserving of a massive contract at the time???

I'm not saying that Schoen should've been replaced this year...just not on board with the thought that he should get 4 years just because Gettleman got 4 years. If this team doesn't improve this year, Schoen should be shown the door. What issues does this team have that are still related to Gettleman? Jones is a Schoen issue now, Waller?...Schoen. Bad Oline?...Schoen. Blaming DG for this current mess is lazy. Schoen has created multiple problems on his own. Schoen is probably approaching wasting $150-200 million, on bad contracts/trades/draft picks, over 2 years, what would it take for you to think he's failing at his job? This roster is worse than it was last year, and the only hope to fix it, is to trade away next year's draft picks. On the contary, I do agree Schoen own's all of it and he is cleaning it up (dealt with roster & dead money etc.) as best he could/can so yes he's made some mistakes (do does every GM) but you fail to point out the good things he as done. The Giants have been bad for what a decade? It does not turn around overnight as fans have witnessed. Unfortunately, it's not on a time table you care for. There is the DJ out clause after '24 so least Schoen had that foresight and Mara likes DJ too, Waller deal did not pan out since he's probably not coming back (his personnel decisions go both ways). The O-Line looks like it can be average this year and that unamazingly will be an improvement. So to me, Schoen has done enough to be the GM and I am good with it. You do not like Schoen, it's okay, I see it differently. I don't like any Giants GM that isn't improving the roster. Schoen has wasted close to $200+ million on Dj, Waller, dead money, and countless other moves...but somehow that's OK because it was only over 2 years? That makes no sense. His job is to improve the roster, every year. Is that happening? It didn't last year, and this roster looks less talented, with less depth, than last years team. I could care less about Schoen, the person, but I do expect any Giants GM to be competent. I see A LOT more mistakes than successes. Hopefully, that changes. I don't get the constant excuses, defending mediocrity (or worse), by so many Giants fans.

Imagine if John Lynch was on such a short leash? Or was shit canned after trading three first round picks to move up for Trey Lance? What are you talking about that never happens; I read it on the internet so that means it's true.

yeah that's the only thing in having to shift your Oline and make plans for that left handed qb so then there's that.......... Take Fuaga in the first (he's a beast, and a natural right tackle) and Penix with our pick in the 2nd (not that he'll last that long) and problem solved... lol at this point I almost don't care what we do mannnnnn. I mean I do but it's almost a whatever they do I just have to see the damn thing play out on the fild smh. I kinda want to see Jones with really no excuses as in really having things fixed as in an average o line and especially right side protection and it would be nice to have a solid number 1. Even with the recievers we have and no more added, I'd like to see him with the protection decently solid. Since we gave him the money and have an out after this year, I'd like to see what he has under those circumstances of at least not Neal letting someone thru all damn day every day; he and the shit guards letting jokas right up the middle.........

We have been in this wait and see forever now and it’s not Jones nor was it Eli’s fault for the surrounding dysfunction. No, we still don’t know what Jones is although we have a lot of evidence. Imo, this mess is due to the front office, starting with this owner as culprit #1. Imo, too many give Big John the same respect and admiration as his father known as Mr Mara. And make no mistake, Wellington Mara did a ton of good for the NFL yet even he needed the league to intervene due to the dysfunction in his family. Bottom line, this family and friends can’t draft. Whatever they are looking at isn’t working and the same can be said for Belicheck b/c whatever he was looking at didn’t work either over the last X years. Hopefully the Giants can narrow the gap this season and rid ourselves of excuses. I wouldn’t bet on it though.

I'm with ya bro; this season is going to tell us a very lot about the direction of this team..................... if we see a much much better overall product and we lose games I'm sure most would be able to see the trend upward if indeed we see the signs vs the shit show and losing in particular fashions.........

You can go from trending to treading water in a New York minute. In a result driven business where production runs supreme. Last season was the year to see where this team was heading. And it went south faster than a cheap date. No one worth a damn is buying this garbage. Schoen will have his opportunities to steer the ship towards land. Or be engulfed by an unforgiving sea.

And it went south faster than a cheap date. No one worth a damn is buying this garbage. Schoen will have his opportunities to steer the ship towards land. Or be engulfed by an unforgiving sea. so you think if we have a year like the Detroit's and the Miami's of world were having I'd say maybe 5 ish years ago where their record stunk but everybody and their mama's saw and could see that those teams were trending upward and they had fight, fire and desire and were tough gritty bunches who just needed to keep adding pieces and boiii did they and boiii did they keep getting better and better...... So after 2022 and the promise and sure we had the shit season last year but after and depending how the draft goes and the moves we've made thus far, if we have that kind of season where you can see, and totaly different than what we saw last year, if we see signs of that in the teams play and fight, no BS o Line letting jokas thru the Los and us losing and mainly early in the season in the fashion we did, you think they are gone at years end? I think depending on how it goes and looks and if the moves made for ths season shows a night and day difference IN WHAT WE CAN SEE AND TELL WITH OUR OWN EYES that it and 2022 is further coming together, I think there's no way they are gone.....
