He is a tick below Nick Bosa, but it's a lot closer than people realize.
Gary is better than Josh Allen, Montez Sweat, Brian Burns, and Clelin Ferrell.
Why? The pure ability to convert speed to power. The #1 most important trait for an EDGE in today's quick-pass NFL.
Disruption = production. And on tape, Gary is more consistently disruptive than all those guys. Gary anchored the #2 defense in the nation, made everyone around him better (see Winovich and Bush, how many sacks and tackles did Gary create for those guys)
Gary is a more athletic Cameron Jordan / Brandon Graham / Michael Bennett and would be a very solid choice at #6. He is Blue-Chip rare.

I can easily see DG picking him at 6....actually, I feel DG will be in absolute 6 and 17 heaven with what this draft is about...matches his philosophy on building a team. I do not believe Allen shall be available at 6...Gary will be.

I dunno, He doesnt do it for me. Seems like a JR pick, good combine, alot of athleticism, didnt really put it together on the field

He is a pressure guy more than a sack generator . We need a farmer that specializes in planting Qbs

Played through injuries, and was the player always double teamed on that stellar defense...I'm sold on him, and believe while he might not have the bend to be an Allen type 3-4 QB projectile, IMHO, Allen is a more riskier pick vs. this dancing bear. Reason being, if Allen does not get the QB, he is basically a bust...not as versatile as Gary, who can be the edge, or play interior, a 3 down player. If he does not become the QB planter, he will still be playing for a second contract. The ceilings are high with Allen, and Gary...but how far down is the floor on each? Watching a lot of Allen tape, the upside is worth the risk at 6, obviously.... but he does get by with his production at Kentucky with simply being too fast and athletic for college tackles. His technique is far below a Bosa.... Only sure thing all pro types on defense are Bosa, Williams, Oliver and White....if used correctly (see Oliver). Guys like Sweat, Gary, Ferrell and even Allen are boom and bust/? down starter, but of course, Allen's upside in getting to the QB is too good to pass up on if he learns technique. IMHO of course...love hearing differing opinions.

I do agree that his technique isnt that of a Bosa, QW, or even Wilkins

Hoping he drops into our laps...his ceiling is so high if he learns the craft...you have to take a chance on him becoming the next Von Miller. Here's a nice question for you...say DG has Haskins fall to 6, and Allen as well...would you throw your slipper at the TV if we passed on Allen ...for Haskins?

I have seen several mocks showing us picking him but I believe Rashan Gary can be had at #10 overall...if we want him that bad, we should trade back, pick up an early 2019 2nd rounder and a third...maybe more...but three solid picks are very likely.
Get an idea for a plan B, C and D for that #10 also in case someone does grab him...Jonah Williams may slip...Devin White may slip.
I think Gary at #6 is a bit of a reach....not a big reach, but like I said, he is likely a #10.

If this happens I'm also hoping we traded for Rosen so the pick is a no brainer I think out of the big 3,Allen ame Bosa have about a 10% chance of falling to us I would say Williams has the best chance at 45% ,and if he does it's also meaning Haskins is gone so I wouldn't have to worry about the EDS clique crying about the team afraid to replace Eli with a Williams pick(Williams is to me the best player in the draft other than Murray

Grey has a total of 9.5 career NCAA sacks . How is he even in the conversation for a 1st round pick? Just for a comparison to the ludicracy of drafting him with the 6th, the 17 or the 37th pick. Strahan had 19 sacks in his last year at TSU . We took him at pick 40 . So how exactly is the 3.5 sack phenom considered a better skill prospect than Strahan was?
He can not get to the QB while being blocked by NCAA O-lines. I am almost self assured he will not magically be turned into a sack machine against NFL O-lines. We need a pass rusher. Not a dance partner for the opposing LT. Grey has 1st round bust tattooed on his forehead.

Jadaveon Clowney = 3 sacks final year in college. Try again, stop reading box score stats, and watch tape.

I do not get how anybody can think this guy is worth a 1st or 2nd round pick as a pass rusher . At least try to use some facts on Gray to change what I am saying. Some of you. Mainly you, believe by using the" you are wrong" argument changes what he is. You have given nothing to suggest Gray is a good pass rusher . Not one lick of evidence to support your point. If you are trolling to get a reaction, I an not your guy. I am so confident in what I am saying and it is backedup with facts. I think you are trolling , ( Are you the John Jerry guy? Because your style of writing is exactly the same ) If you are not . Here are some more facts. With Seymour: You are proving my point . He was never a sack generator in the NFL His best year was 8. His career was .35 sacks per game. That sucks as a pass rusher. That is one sack for every 3 games. We already have those guys on the roster. Hilll, Carter, Thomlinson ……... So sacks do not matter? I can tell you they do. We need a pass rusher that can get to the QB. We need a pass rusher with at least .75 sacks per game . ( 12 sacks per season) We have 3 quality of DTs that are run stoppers . Wasting A 1st or 2nd round pick on a DT/DE that can get to the Qb . Is just dumb. Clowney had 13 in his Sophomore year . That is 4 more in one year than Gray has gotten in his entire career. Clowney proved he can get to the QB . You can not say that about Gray. He flat out sucks as a pass rusher. Now if you want to say he can stop the run . OK . We do not need another run stopper on the D-line with a top 37 draft pick.

I see Gary and Sweat being interchanged at draft positions in moch drafts between #6 and #8. I find myself leaning much more toward Sweat than Gary but I admittedly am not as knowledgeable about technique as some you are.
I realize that Allen was just being used as a comparison because I can't see anyway that Josh Allen is in the picture. IMO Allen goes at the #3 pick to the Jets. If someone jumps for Haskins at #2 then Allen doesn't get by Oakland at #4.

He breaks down how teams deliberately ran the ball away from him, set up screens to the other side of him, how Gary completedly shut down the running game making teams one-dimensional, how he mostly stays in front of the QB (contain rush) and gets a push
Gary is the reason why Michigan was #1 and #2 rated defense in the nation back2back years. All started and ended with him.
#1 run defender in the entire draft. At any position. Before you even think about rushing the passer, you have to stop the run first. Nobody stops the run better than Rashan Gary.
