Austin Wells is in the fold: ‘Officially a Yankee!’ First-round draft pick Austin Wells has signed on the dotted line. “Officially a Yankee!’’ Wells, the 28th-overall pick in the first round of the 2020 MLB Draft, posted to his Twitter account on Thursday night with a photo of him wearing a Yankees cap and pinstripe jersey. The 20-year-old catcher — who originally was drafted by the Yankees in the 35th round in 2018 before deciding to play at Arizona — agreed to a $2.5 million bonus, according to YES Network. That just about matches the $2,493,900 recommended slot value of his selection. nypost.com/2020/06/26/austin-wells-is-in-the-fold-officially-a-yankee/

We shall see, at least there's a shot of it. Of course, once they swing a bat or try to run, all bets are off they STAY healthy. Honestly, I cant wait to see Cole pitch. Almost forgot he was on the team. I feel a little better about Judge's ability to stay on the field than Stanton. Hopefully he proves me wrong, Hicks too for that matter!!

Yankees in prime position to take advantage of delayed MLB start: Sherman Brian Cashman expressed optimism Tuesday about having Aaron Hicks (Tommy John surgery), Aaron Judge (fractured rib) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) on the Opening Day roster, the same for James Paxton (back surgery). That represents one-third of a lineup and the No. 2 starter behind Gerrit Cole, which is even more vital with Luis Severino (Tommy John) out for the year. nypost.com/2020/06/30/delayed-mlb-start-a-boon-to-healed-up-yankees-sherman/

Yankees wear masks as they arrive for spring training 2.0 The Yankees are back in The Bronx. Yankees players arrived at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday for the start of spring training 2.0, with the 2020 MLB season scheduled to start July 23. The Post previously reported the Yankees are expected to face the Nationals that night in Washington to open the MLB season, which would likely be Gerrit Cole’s Yankees debut. Among the Yankees who arrived (shown above) were Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela, Brett Gardner, James Paxton, Tommy Kahnle and Clint Frazier. Manager Aaron Boone said the team’s first official workout will be held Saturday at the Stadium. nypost.com/2020/07/01/photos-yankees-arrive-for-spring-training-2-0/

Why would 2020 be different?
Tanaka gets hurt taking a liner off the side of the head from Stanton in batting practice.
Yay! This is Yankee baseball!

Judge and Stanton both say they are 100% and ready to go.
Paxtons back is also a non issues right now.
Hicks may be able to return from TJ without missing a game.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and I know you're frustrated about 2020 since the Yanks seemed set up for a championship run. My niece in LA is a huge Lakers fan and she was completely distraught by the suspension of the season when she thought this was their year.
But the 2020 season, if it happens, is going to be nothing but a glorified exhibition season with token playoffs.
They are trying to salvage something to save at least SOME revenues but the product will be mediocre at best and the legitimacy of any results will be very questionable.
Sorry but real baseball will have to wait until 2021 at the earliest.

Damn... they hid this well. Morehead you ever hear about this? Gods team huh? Red Sox dogged by claims of racism, sexual abuse NEW YORK (AP) — Last month, when former Major League All-star Torii Hunter said he’d been called the N-word “a hundred times” at Boston’s storied Fenway Park, the Red Sox were quick to back him up with a promise to fight racism. “Torii Hunter’s experience is real,” the team said in a June 10 Twitter post, adding that there were at least seven incidents as recently as last year where fans used racial slurs. The team promised to do a better job dealing with racism: “As we identify how we can do better, please know we are listening.” But those words rang hollow for more than a dozen Black men who have spent the last several years trying to get the Red Sox to listen to their claims that they were sexually abused by a former Red Sox clubhouse manager who died in 2005. The former clubhouse manager, Donald “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick, pleaded guilty to criminal charges of attempted sexual battery in 2002, admitting that he used Red Sox team memorabilia to lure young, Black clubhouse workers into secluded areas of the team’s Florida spring training facility, where he abused them. Fitzpatrick did not admit to abusing young boys in other ballparks. www.boston.com/sports/boston-red-sox-2/2020/07/07/donald-fitzy-fitzpatrick-sexual-abuse

African American skin is not typically compatible with shaving. When I was in the Navy, several of us had to get a no-shave chit because shaving caused lots of skin problems, specifically in-grown hairs. I was lucky enough to not have my face act up when I shaved. I don't necessarily agree with the article's headline about it taking away from individualism, but I do understand why a person of color could disagree with the policy. I think that the policy is fine, but it might be outdated.

This season to me is nothing but a cash grab. Mike Trout is actually on the fence about whether or not he is going to play this year.

FYI, when I shave every day, I get those bumps on my neck too.

FYI, when I shave every day, I get those bumps on my neck too. I am trying to see where I said that in my post. I also don't see anything where people are appalled by the policy. It isn't trending on twitter and I can't find any links saying that "woke" people are up in arms about it. Anyways, Pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps) is a common condition of the beard area occurring in up to 60% African American men and other people with curly hair. The problem results when highly curved hairs grow back into the skin causing inflammation and a foreign body reaction. Over time, this can cause keloidal scarring which looks like hard bumps of the beard area and neck. Shaving sharpens the ends of the hairs like a spear. The hairs then curve back into the skin causing pseudofolliculitis barbae. A 100% effective treatment is to let the beard grow. www.aocd.org/page/pseudofolliculitisb#:~:text=Pseudofolliculitis%20barbae%20(razor%20bumps)%20is

I know all about that. This is the first time since the country has gone mad Im hearing this rule brought up. I am willing to bet it will turn race related soon although Andrew McCutchen (a rare black baseball player) didnt exactly say that was reason for saying it. He brought up it taking away individuality as you pointed out. Either way, whatever. I dont mind hair or beards on players.

Starting to think you guys are right. This is going to be a very odd season if it even happens which I still doubt. Well finishing anyway.

It's kinda very disturbing no? Did you hear about the Wayfair child auctioning thing? And how Amazon, Etsy, Ebay and other sites are selling missing children on them? Very disturbing shit. Just saw it pop up on my FB. The FBI needs to figure out what's what and burn these ****ers slowly to death.
