I thought he was a good player but I guess the Giants didn't feel the same way.

I have no idea what Gruden is doing over there

Makes no sense why he isn't still a Giant. Stewart is a Giant, when we knew we were drafting Saquon but DRC was cut when we knew we had no CB depth, frustrating.

He was cut because he was a nickel and didn't want to accept being paid like one.
Except now he will.

I liked DRC too but maybe his insubordinate episode last season did him in with the Giants organization?

Hard to judge until you know what the contract is.
I predicted he would be signed by a team late in preseason that had injuries or doubt about their backfield and I still think he could be a productive safety in the right role.
He was a good player for us, good luck to him.

That decision may have been more about chemistry. DRC was a leader on defense but was he a Gettleman guy...? not so much....based on the moves I have seen him make in the past. Our DB's seemed to lack leadership with Collins throwing people under the bus and DRC getting suspended. Not something u want from your leader and you don't use Landon to set an example but you use DRC to send a message.

Probably a small pride issue there. He wasn't straight cut, I believe they tried to restructure/reduce his contract. After all that he probably didn't want to come back for what less than what was offered. I'm betting what he got from the Raiders was higher in dollar value than what the Giants offered.

I dig DRC but he is also older and never would have made 16 games.

Well at least we can stop the "re-sign DRC" stuff.

JJ...way better and younger Apple...younger and "hopefully" more upside to come although I have my doubts. DRC can only be a slot at this time in his career. He was expendable. Nothing against him its just the situation

So DG signs a bunch of WHO? corners instead, throws them on the wall, and hope that a few stick. Good luck with that philosophy. I also don't belive he was sending a message by cutting DRC. There's no proof of that. Anyway, it's doesn't matter anymore. I'm just hoping that at least 2 corners can step up and play the position well enough from this pile of junk. If Jenkins goes down with an injury, it's going to get ugly.

Well at least we can stop the "re-sign DRC" stuff. ............why? It's only fair, since no one is still going on and on and on and on and on and on about not taking a QB in the first round.

Good player. Very versatile. Giants had to cut due to salary. Was getting too injury prone. Not likely to hold up. (Giants used as a blitzing CB/S/LB/Rover and it took its toll)
Most players don’t re-sign with the team that asked them to take a pay cut. Too bad those savings weren’t used to bring in a better CB replacement.

I think the idea he can’t cover is Bs. Plus that’s not his value anyway. His value is as a blitzer/hybrid as he was used in 2016. The problem with him is he was too expensive in his current deal and he has started to get hurt way too much. It was right to move on.

Then he started dropping every ball he had a chance to catch, including a couple easy pick 6's.
Last year I thought he was terrible. We couldn't stop anyone's passing game. I get that you have a different opinion and I get that. But my view of the kid's game, based on what I've is much lower.
Then add the suspension and price tag....he had to go.

Fair enough, like I say I think it was right to cut him. Unfortunately the things he is best at his body can’t really handle. Availability matters. Also less tolerance for veterans who have conduct issues.

Also less tolerance for veterans who have conduct issues. Corner is such an athletic position. Maybe the most on the field. If you lose a step at that position you are in big trouble. He's a tall corner and those guys can lose it sooner than others. A selct few with smaller body types are freaks, like Darrell Green and can keep it well into their 30's.
Guys with his body type have to either go to safety or get out. And he really doesn't like contact. Just don't think he can be a good player in this league anymore.

Not singling you out by any stretch but it seems to me many people didn't pay attention to Eli's game last week.
He never looked better IMO. He seemed totally focused.

The Giants are a 3-13 team; it takes a while to rebuild a team that bad. Thankfully we can just keep blaming individual players for it.

Who is this sarcasm directed at? I mean, unless you're trying to call me stupid on the sneak, since Eli didn't play last week. Did you reply to the wrong post?
