against my better judgement i'm actually going to watch the Mets v Marlins game tonight live because it starts in the UK at 21.10 pm ( rather than the middle of the bloody night ). Ill miss baseball when the season is over despite the awful collapse. im not sure which is worse right now ....watching the NY Mets or the NY Giants ( at least i'm not a Jets fan i suppose !!! ...thank the Lord ) Yeah, I was looking forward to Giants football during the Mets meltdown. Now I am disgusted by 2 teams. on Sunday i was watching the Giants on TV , the Ryder Cup on my phone and the Mets on my laptop ........they were all total disasters !!!

Nice win for the Mets in game 1 of the doubleheader. Let’s see how Noah looks in game 2 shortly. Would be good to sweep the Marlins

At least syndergaard still has some stuff. And Seinfeld is still really funny.
Aside from a horrible, classic, typical Mets meltdown, it's nice we still have Jerry and hope. 🤨

I just want to see what we do after this shitshow. Better not be retaining Baez. I don’t want to hear that. Mets need Kris Bryant and to resign Stroman. And of course Rojas better be gone. Too bad that Freddy Freeman and Pete play the same position.

nice send off for Conforto ....if indeed that was his last game at Citi Field as seems highly likely.
and always great to see a Mets Grand Slam even in a meaningless game

But nice. Always liked him, shame if he leaves. But he's never been a consistently good player here. Never lived up to his hype.

Why in the world are they even pitching Syndergaard at this point ? What for ? Pitching him now is gonna show some great secret if we should sign him long term ? A Bull Shit waste of time.
Like next spring is gonna be treated different cause he threw 50-60 pitches and his arm didn't hurt. Sign him if he goes down and his career is through then make a settlement and move on.
Him and DeGrom are still question marks next year. And we all will hold our breaths every time they pitch. And re sign Strohman. He would be a hell of a #3 starter.

Even when not, he's been a very streaky hitter. He's a career .250 hitter. What will probably happen is he'll walk and explode with his new team, this being the Mets...

Too bad that Freddy Freeman and Pete play the same position. Why not go after all 3 ? This owner does have money to spend. I'm pretty damn generous with his money aren't I ? And were still 1 bat short in the lineup. Nimmo, Alonzo, Lindor and just say Bryant and Baez. We still need that RBI guy batting around 6th to protect the guys hitting 4th and 5th..

Id be amazed if Freddie isnt in Atlanta next season. But it's going to be an interesting offseason with the owner-union negotiations. Just a potential DH rule change would influence NL team's offseasons a lot. I wouldn't mind Baez back and the price doesn't concern me. He and Lindor are both 5 tool guys, in the middle of your infield? Sign me up. But I bet the Cano contract will influence that.

I have seen that suggested a few times I wouldnt go so far as to call him a turd, but he's not the manager this team needs. Just like McAdoo wasnt for the Giants. Although I would call McAdoo a turd. The silly Beltran thing made him the manager by default. I honestly dont think he was as bad as he could have been. And his players loved him and played hard for him. I bet he gets another chance in the future.

Someone on here chronicled some good reasons why, but mostly it boiled down to the stress on development and not on winning at that level. I could see why he was good in that role. I seriously doubt the White Sox love Larussa, but they sure as hell won a bunch of games. Larussa is a baseball savant and probably the best cheater within the confines of doing it properly in baseball history. That’s why giving Beltran his shot now wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. Most said he was the #1 brain in the cheating operation. In baseball if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying.

It pisses me off that no players got any punishment but he was, and he wasn't even managing the Astros. I hope he gets another shot somewhere. But I also think at this point the Mets need a GM and manager who have been there and done that. Being close to the players from the minors isn't cutting it.

As you say inevitable for Rojas and personally i hope he gets another job soon. He was a good guy , just not a Major League manager. I would love Beane to come back to the team who first drafted him , that would be a fantastic story and great for the Mets ( he's only 59 ) .....make it happen Cohen !

There was rumor on the Fan today suggesting Billy Bean as GM and Beltran as Manager with a high probability attached to it.
