One of the best we ever had. His hand size measurement was incredible. Looking forward to seeing what shakes out of this year WR draft class.

Who can forget those huge red gloves he used to wear lol He was a top 5 wr in his prime. That Bucs game in ‘12 was legendary but it’s also sad because that same game he picked up injuries that would never recover from .

Loved Nicks. Never saw a WR drop off the radar that fast without a catastrophic injury. He just seemed to have an accumulation of non-catastrophic leg injuries that just robbed him of his career. Was basically done in the NFL by age 27.... I pointed this out several times at the time.He developed "Compartment Syndrome" as a result of his injury. CS can certainly be catastrophic as it often results in permanent muscle injury, which is what appeared to have happened to him. You basically have to Filet the muscle and facia open to relieve the pressure. Never the same again.

I have seen all the Giants WR in the modern era......and not so modern since I remember seeing Shofner as a kid lol. Nicks is my #! for all you could want in a WR.

We went through a period where our WRs were getting mowed down by career ending injuries and I asked whether that was a norm in the NFL or just an anomaly we were experiencing.
We lost Nicks and Cruz and Hixon and another one I can't recall.

If you ever needed to be reminded how good he was. Check his stats in the ‘11 playoff run.
28 receptions. 444 yards 4 touchdowns.
Injuries took away what most certainly would have been a great career.
Speaking of the Bucs game. He was putting up those numbers against Aqib Talib.

Nicks and Cruz were the perfect tandem for a short period.
Needed that 3rd conversion? Cruz found the spot and made the catch.
Needed that TD in the fourth quarter? Nicks was your guy.
Needed that spark play? Cant guard both of them but in the off chance you did, hello Mario Manningham Lol

I was brought back to the 90s with that soundtrack. I wish Nicks could donate his hands to Engram. Nicks had humongous hand size.

Needed that spark play? Cant guard both of them but in the off chance you did, hello Mario Manningham Lol Cruz was a major problem because he was a dynamic playmaker out of the slot that had home run ability and off the charts football IQ to make instant reads to hit the correct option route post snap. Gilbride always instructed his recievers to read the defense to try to find the deeper holes in the defense first. Here is the scary part If the line wasn't already disintegrating by 2011 can you imagine how many 5000 plus yard years Eli would have had in addition to a lethal running game ?

He’s my favourite Giants WR
Perfect X for the KG offence. Just destroyed. Made that whole O work.
How awesome was it to have an elite WR corps? Nicks, Cruz, Manningham. Always remember BB on the sideline in that ‘11 SB “this is a Cruz and Nicks game, make them go to Manningham”

Nicks is the guy I wanted from the jump of that draft. He was fun to watch at north carolina too. Wish it coulda lasted longer.

This is the benchmark, in my opinion, for any WR we bring in this offseason. Catch radius of a semi- truck Amazing hands Ability to understand coverage and run the correct option route Decent route runner With Nicks on the outside Eli always had an open option because Nicks usually won his 50/50 balls. Back shoulder portion of the video starts around 6:22. NFL non verbal communication at its finest between Eli and Nicks. They killed cover 2 coverages with this all day long best WR in Giants history IMO. What he did in the 2011 playoffs is unmatched 4 games, 43 catches, 444 yards and 4 TDs in that post season.

One of the best WRs in Giants history. Only Toomer is up there with him IMO (and that could just be nostalgia talking).

He played like he was 6'6" and used his body well against his opposition. Really miss that guy. It's sad the way his career ended because we all remember what he did in the 11 postseason run and week 2 game of 2012 against the buccaneers.

Imagine if he never got hurt and we drafted Donald instead of OBJ... Or Martin (Reese still had old school giants way traits with linemen on both sides of the ball, too small for the Giants way )
