Heโs my favourite Giants WR Perfect X for the KG offence. Just destroyed. Made that whole O work. How awesome was it to have an elite WR corps? Nicks, Cruz, Manningham. Always remember BB on the sideline in that โ11 SB โthis is a Cruz and Nicks game, make them go to ManninghamโThat was vintage BB and it was the right call by him.....until Manning made the throw of his life and MM made the catch of his life. What made it all the more impressive was the coverage was still excellent. As for Nicks, that Bucs game was excellent for him but he was awesome in the Falcons and Packers playoff games as well. I remember when Nicks was a rookie his closest friend on the Giants was David Diehl. Big shot new kid WR and an overachieving 5th round vet "big ugly" O lineman. Good stuff.

If you think about it: that roster of Eli, Nicks, Cruz, Maninngham, plus Jacobs and Bradshaw....oh my......what a ****ing crew that was..... It took a lot of work to have so many picks and never replenish the stock.

Nicks is one of my all time favorites. Ran a complete route tree, had a wingspan of an albatross, plucked the ball out of the air, undeniable chemistry with Eli and had a nose for the end zone. I would trade top-end speed for all of that. Plus you never heard a peep from him.
Those back shoulder throws were automatically for 10-15 yards on the perimeter.

My favorite receiver during Eli's era. He was definitely HOF talent. Injuries suck man. Seriously. After 2011 it looked like we'd have an elite WR corps for a long time anchored by Nicks and Cruz. Injuries basically scuttled that whole thing.

Imagine if he never got hurt and we drafted Donald instead of OBJ... I think we would've had Lombardi number 5 if that happened

I thought Nicks was great. It's really a shame he got his career derailed by injuries. Same with Cruz.
For my money, that was the best WR pair the Giants ever had.

Hakeem Nicks is one of my favorite all time Giants.
When I think of him I always think that with most WR's, the play is usually over when they catch the ball. With Nicks, the play is starting when he catches the ball. It seemed he was always looking to score once the ball was in his hands. He had such a great motor.
Splitting the Atlanta secondary in that playoff game was one of the most dynamic plays in Giants history.

A receiver like him would massively benefit us/jones, not having to nail every pass through a pinhole with the coverage and crappy separation these days. A dude that goes up and can fight for and come down with a ball lofted in his area. we have nothing remotely close to nicks. he reminds me of how different its been watching giants games, how when the ball was thrown his way you were confident he'd make a play, now every time the ball is thrown anywhere im cringing waiting for engram to play volleybal with it. ugh.

He was an awesome Giant and should never have to buy a beer in NY or North Jersey.

For my buddy MH. He better like this. I know that he never likes any posts but he better like this one. Awesome memory, and how great it is to hear GIANTS fans. I treasured those towels a buddy in Jersey sent me right after that game. My wife and I had them whipping in the living room through the rest of the playoffs and SB.

The place exploded as soon as he split the secondary. I still have my towel draped over the top of my mirror in my bedroom.

Ironically the football Gods played a cruel joke on us and the Packers did the same thing to us before the half the last time we were in the playoffs.
