This is the benchmark, in my opinion, for any WR we bring in this offseason. Catch radius of a semi- truck Amazing hands Ability to understand coverage and run the correct option route Decent route runner
With Nicks on the outside Eli always had an open option because Nicks usually won his 50/50 balls.
Back shoulder portion of the video starts around 6:22. NFL non verbal communication at its finest between Eli and Nicks. They killed cover 2 coverages with this all day long

It sucks, I was really excited to have him have long career as a giant.

The title off this thread would make one believe he passed away. I am glad that is not so.

I was brought back to the 90s with that soundtrack.
I wish Nicks could donate his hands to Engram.

Loved Nicks. Never saw a WR drop off the radar that fast without a catastrophic injury. He just seemed to have an accumulation of non-catastrophic leg injuries that just robbed him of his career. Was basically done in the NFL by age 27....

IMO, Nicks and Cruz were the best receiver combo we ever had, it was for too short of a time for sure!

I said in his rookie year that if he could stay healthy he would be the greatest WR ever for the Gmen. Very sad that injuries killed his talent. You have to be damned lucky to last long in today's NFL at WR.

He wasn't the biggest or the fastest but he was a great wr. Some guys just have that awareness in space.
Shame he never got the big check.

IMO, Nicks and Cruz were the best receiver combo we ever had, it was for too short of a time for sure! Well, I'm one of those old timers that has seen every one of our WR's since the early 60's... damned near 60 years, And, I agree with you 100% Both were among the top 10, maybe top 6 of all time for us, but as a combo there were none better. As a combo I'd put Toomer and Burress of 2007 in 2nd place. I can't even think of a combo that deserves 3rd, compared to those 2. Homer Jones of '64 - '70 was one of our tops.... in a 3 year span in the middle of his career he was dominant and I think still holds our record of 27.3 y/c. But, he never had a dynamic partner on the other side of the line.

My favorite receiver during Eli's era. He was definitely HOF talent. Injuries suck man. The curse of the Giants WR's.... Literally every receiver from that team (including TE) had their careers cut short to knee/ankle injuries. You could say every good receiver drafted by the Giants in the last 20 years (minus Toomer) was doomed by injuries, and at a young age. It's still happening. Beware, class of '21.

My favorite receiver during Eli's era. He was definitely HOF talent. Same here. Caught everything. Won every jump ball. Took big hits. Played faster than his timed speed. And that dirty bird!

That is a big thing missing for the Giants at the WR and TE guys who take it from them. Guys that are open when they are covered. Eli struggled once they lost those guys he had Plex and Toomer then Nicks Cruz and Manningham those WRs were dogs man .

He was much faster than his combine time He for some reason was overweight because how many time did he break away in his prime and not get caught Also was one of those guys who needed a few yards to get up to speed Problem with these guys is injuries hkt harder and that little burst goes away quickly

It just makes it worse when the video is over. Like looking at pictures of old girlfriends when you're single.

I say this all the time. I loved nicks. He was such a monster in his prime. He and Eli worked so great together. Odell was dynamic, but nicks wasn’t far behind him at all. I would take nicks all day long.
