Change my mind. Plus leadership on field... “Without Stray, we would not have been world champions.”

Well balanced teams on both sides of the ball win championships
An offense that can play multiple styles, has firepower to win shootouts or come back from large defects if needed, able to run the ball at will when opposing defenses have to defend the entire field because of said firepower.
A defense that can dominate the LOS,have playmakers at all 3 levels and take advantage of weaknesses like we saw tonight (I see the usual suspects in out fan base everywhere I post at are having a mass maturation fest become KCs offense sucked.... a little elephant in the room they choose to ignore. Play this game with Fisher and their regular starting RT and not Remmers at LT and a practice squad guy at RT ,guarantee it looks a lot different. I know injuries are part of the game and Kudos for the bucs front 4 for not playing like our defense didn't vs San Fran this past year and taking full advantage.Anyone thinking the KC offense waw figured out and a blueprint was established is on the clueless side, when this happens when the O line is intact and full firepower all over then we have this discussion, but I digress)
Fully balanced teams win... Tampa had a top 5 offense or something this year and a QB that litterally collaborated with his OC on gameplans each week and had the ability to change the play to many different ones pre snap based on what the defense showed (Arians runs the Erheart/Perkins system Brady has been in his entire career so he knows the option route number system ,albeit Arians runs the Gilbride version. ) So it was litterally like having your OC on the field as well..
Give me the well rounded team every day

All good points. Just saying this Tampa D is way better than the got credit for and you easily could easily say they played a huge role in carrying this team all year. Underrated!
D front and LB Corp is stout! D backfield young like Giants but came on all year.

I actually think we are closer than many think on that side of the ball 1.do the work to make more cap room this year to bring back both Tomlinson and Williams 2. Go after Barrett or someone for the edge guy for the one splash That addition plus further blooming of our young linebackers and d backs and this is very close to being a dominant unit Then use the draft to get all our playmakers and more young meat on the O line (because the other thing we learned tonight is teams have to figure out how to avoid happening like what happened to the Chiefs having to start Remmers and a practice squad guy at tackles in the super bowl... 100% of the time it will look exactly like this if that happens in a super bowl

It helps out a ton when you have a stellar QB. Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer types aren't winning any titles going forward. That is stone age football. If you don't have your QB situation squared away, you will not win a championship now or going forward. There's a reason why Tom Brady has 7 championships and 10 appearances. It is because he is great at what he does.

Couldn't agree more. There's seems to be a new flavor or way of doing things every other year, but the tried and true model of controlling the LOS, controlling the clock, and running the ball continues to win Super Bowls.

Who won MVP? They were able to run it because KC's defense had to defend the entire field because of Adams and Godwin being able to threaten the entire field which opened up tbe inside and underneath for running it and screens NFL 101,take what defense gives you and exploit it

Yeah Those relics living in the past are having a circle jerk right now but you are spot on here as usual And of course they come out of the woodwork to want to build a team that only has a game manager that hands it off 40 times a game. Like it or not tbis was a true modern styled team we saw beat another modern styed team by exploiting a very bad situation on the KC o line to the max on defense (championship defenses do this,)and having a litteral OC on tbe field able to morph and change a very modern Erheart/Perkins style offense to what the Chiefs gave them, have the playmakers all over the field to force mismatches everywhere, including underneath and a very open box,so tvey hit screens and ran it when this happened, which is what good modern offenses do. If any lesson was learned it's that the Erheart/Perkins offense when operated by a highly intelligent really good qb behind a great O line and with weapons can't be stopped ..which is what the Bucs run

Not a single post. What we had last night was two of the best QB's the NFL has ever seen playing against each other in the Super Bowl. Brady and Mahomes are going to make the Super Bowl more often than not simply due to how good they are. They can make any scheme and any style of play work. Now, if it makes everyone feel better we can call it old school, we can call it being a relic, we can call it whatever it needs to be called. The fact is, the team that was able to keep their QB clean, the team that was able to create havoc on the opposing QB, and the team that was able to run the ball consistently last night won the game. Conversely, there was a recent thread alluding to how Tyreek Hill could be considered the best WR of all time. I believe it was more for discussion, and not necessarily a proclamation, but for many fans Hill is the epitome of what the new NFL has become. He's a damn good player, no doubt, but with the exception of a chunk play or two late in the game he was essentially invisible last night. As stated many times, there is no one way to win in football. Teams can be high powered offensively, they can be balanced, they can be run/TE heavy, they can be reliant on defense........it can all work so long as the OL controls the LOS, the defense is stout, and the threat to run is real. History continues to prove this every single year.

Oh shit!!! You mean "old school football" ?If that's what we're calling it, I guess so. I love the politics-esque feel this place has sometimes...... If someone disagrees with my opinion (which isn't really an opinion since it's my opinion and all my opinions are facts), then I'll immediately resort to name calling. It's comical.

Yeah that Troll was following around and harassing me when I said Hill was replaceable ...and he is...especially in a year where you have 3 virtual clones of him available in tbw draft that would be ready to step in and do what he does on a rookie deal on a very loaded team on offense..cap and roster management 101(wonder where he is today ) And Hill being taken out usually means their other players end up having big games Besides Reid forgetting that Edwards-Hellaire was averaging 5 yards a pop on the ground JPP and Barrett vs 2 really bad backup OTs wrecked that game and rendered their passing attack useless Survival of the fittest football 101 as unfair as that sounds on the surface

Defense might win championships but it's made a lot easier when 2 of the other team's starting OL are out. The injuries didn’t help the Chiefs. The score was 14-6 before the half. The Bucs handed the ball off. It was the Chiefs who called timeout. Then they lined up offsides on a FG attempt followed by pass interference calls. 11 penalties for 120 yards. Start of the 2nd half the Chiefs get a FG and it was their defense, for the 2nd drive in a row who allowed Tampa to go down the field for a TD. Fournette wasn’t even touched on a 27 yard football 101 block and run.

Tampa Bay's front 7 is unbelievable. Ive been saying that the past month or so. They have 4 LBs that are similar to our LBs of the 80s. Devin White is the best LB I have seen in the NFL in a long time.

On my Facebook timeline from the very usual outspoken Brady haters Facebook and the official Giants page are awful places to talk football. You have people on there right now gloating about how Eli Manning is the only one that beat Tom Brady in those Super Bowls a long time ago. The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in those games. This isn't tennis.

Score a lot of points and get out to big leads Make teams one dimensional Have a good pass rush and secondary... Don't get called for ticky tack DPI penalties or roughing the passer penalties Sounds like the winning formula for this era

Couldn't agree more. There's seems to be a new flavor or way of doing things every other year, but the tried and true model of controlling the LOS, controlling the clock, and running the ball continues to win Super Bowls. It reminds me of the run and shoot of the old AFC days. Teams like the Broncos, Bills, Dolphins, Oilers could never win anything meaningful once they faced the better defenses of the NFC. Offense is nice during the regular season, but the model for winning championships is what you described. Really, the Chiefs should've never won last year either. If not for some miracle plays by a 1 out of 1000 QB, they would've been eliminated in round 1.
