Couldn't agree more. There's seems to be a new flavor or way of doing things every other year, but the tried and true model of controlling the LOS, controlling the clock, and running the ball continues to win Super Bowls. It reminds me of the run and shoot of the old AFC days. Teams like the Broncos, Bills, Dolphins, Oilers could never win anything meaningful once they faced the better defenses of the NFC. Offense is nice during the regular season, but the model for winning championships is what you described. Really, the Chiefs should've never won last year either. If not for some miracle plays by a 1 out of 1000 QB, they would've been eliminated in round 1. Mahomes is going to make up for a lot of flaws throughout his career. The kid is unreal. I actually do think the Chiefs are well rounded and not some gimmick. They've got talent at nearly every level. I just tend to prefer the way the Bucs are built. Injuries aside, the Chiefs should be right back in the SB next season.

Saw this posted on another site:
47 of the 54 SB winners ranked in the Top 10 in scoring defense. Of the 108 teams that have reached the Super Bowl, 89 of them ranked in the Top 10 in scoring defense. Sixteen of the Super Bowl champions led the NFL in scoring defense, another 18 finished in the Top 5 and 13 more finished in the Top 10.

People who hate on the Chiefs because they are the epitome of where modern offenses are going (and make no mistake, yesterday was a major outleir because if Fisher plays the Chiefs put up 30,because Watkins and Hardeman were open all game but Mahomes was in run for his life status after 2 seconds)look foolish. Both teams were built well balanced on both sides of the ball and usually are capable of playing any style Lol.@ miracle play by tbe qb because KC ran it down the 49ers throats last Super Bowl which caused their secondary to become complacent and allow Watkins to get past them,if anything blame Reid for abandoning Edwards-Hellaire when he was averaging 7 yards a pop . The Bucs are built to win many styles of football as well and are indeed a modern style team as well in that they can morph between multiple styles of offense as well, cheifs left the underneath wide open all game because the Bucs had weapons that forced the Chiefs to have to defend the entire field Build your team to win any style of football, have the firepower on both sides of the ball ,weapons, dominate the LOS..

ALL of our Champions we had Good Defenses and we was able to get after the QB!
Yes Defense Win Championships for us especially! All the Brady talk and rightfully so but that Bucs Defense was INCREDIBLE last night credit to Todd Bowles for having just the Perfect Game Plan vs the most explosive Offense in the NFL.

Defense wins championships...... Atlanta thought so for a while but then their D lost their championship That's was the defenses fault? Com'on bro, the Falcons offense abandon the run, turn the football over and ignored the clock. "20:34-6:55 The Patriots would score the game's final 31 points, including the winning touchdown in overtime, while outgaining the Falcons 338-69 with a 48-16 advantage in plays and 20:34-6:55 in time of possession" The game should’ve been over when the Falcons got a first down inside the 20, then inexplicably threw it 3x and wound up taking a sack outside of FG range. I’ll never forget Belichick throwing his clipboard when Atlanta converted because he knew they just lost the game.

Defense wins championships...... Atlanta thought so for a while but then their D lost their championship Matt Ryan and Shanahan cost them as well and arguably played the worse situational football ive seen possibly ever with 8 mins left in that game. It was definitely a chain reaction.

Run 3 straight plays there while the pats burn all their timeouts and kick a short fg. Game....set...match... For the falcons..smh.

The Falcons O gave them zero help towards that. The Falcons coaches blew it as well. It was an entire team collapse. Add in Brady and the Pats and there you have it. Probably the largest collapse and comeback in SB history no?

I don't blame any of the players. Falcons won the game and the coaches killed them.

Chiefs were outcoached even with their challenges going into game. It wasn't all coachspeak by Arians about how Brady is actually coaching the team--we heard it from players on both sides of the ball on the bucs. He got into their heads and instilled belief. Yes, you need a well rounded offense in todays NFL--and the ability to adapt early enough in a game to survive. In a big game, it almost always comes down to which team makes the other QB throw off schedule and unsettled overall. If a team can do that rushing 4 they can survive the likes of Kelce and Hill.

Change my mind. Plus leadership on field... “Without Stray, we would not have been world champions.” Not true the game has changed.

So ,now that the Bucs are Super Bowl Champs. Will , it change how GM;s view the up coming Draft. NFL, is a copy cat League , defense dominated the most prominent offense [ since the Rams offense ] .

Many people are like that. instead of emulating the successful they are jealous and envious and seek to tear them down. Reason why they don't emulate is because if they do they would first have to admit certain flaws about themselves that needed to be corrected in order to achieve.Their (false) ego wouldn't allow it so they sit and stew and become envious. Have no respect for those types. I admire the hell out of Brady because he is a self made man and his work ethic put him in the position he is today

Quite simply many detractors of the successful either suffer from "impossibility blindness" or just do not want to make the sacrifices necessary.
