As someone who loves great defense, and enjoy watching the Bucs in the playoffs; I don't believe there's anyone that expected what we say yesterday. That was a dream game for the Bucs while everything seemed to go wrong for the Cheifs. And I'm not complaining because I wanted the Bucs to win. Turns out there was 4 former Giants playing for the Bucs yesterday.
The Chiefs receivers couldn't get open. And as well as the Bucs played defense, the Chiefs couldn't and put the Bucs in position to score with killer penalties. Turns the game around when an INT gets called back and the opponent scores a few plays later. The Bucs scored quickly then were up 21-6 by halftime. You didn't feel the Chiefs ever really had a chance after that. You can't expect to constantly fall behind in big games and hope for miracle comebacks. Their magic finally ran out. It sure did, but I wasn't certain until Fournette scored in the 3rd. I was expected them to mount a comeback coming out of halftime.

its hard for a team to have quality backup people because good players cost money and you can't have big bucks guys standing around on sunday doing nothing, if you pay them they have to play or its a waste of a lot of money..

I couldn't help feeling happy for Gronk, he had a good solid game and did a lot to make this all happen, couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

I felt like if the Chiefs could start the 2nd half with a solid drive...really a textbook Chiefs TD drive, they would have been OK. I put it at the end of the second quarter. I felt the Chiefs needed 7 before the half or the game was over. After I saw how things went on that drive, I stopped watching the game and focused on the party.

With all that space open underneath and Edwards-Hellaire averaging 7 yards a pop I was fully expecting a 7 minute drive featuring him and underneath stuff with all the backfield action of Hill .. Reid had his worst game since Philly last night That was some old time Andy Reid playoff coaching last night. It looked like every Eagles and Chiefs playoff ever....before Mahomes arrived.

I think fans are way over analyzing the Chiefs offensive line. This is the same defense that sacked Aaron Rodgers 5x the previous game. And their line is arguably the best unit in the league. Give credit where credit is due. That defense came to play.. Mahomes never had a clean pocket, Hill was blanketed all game long, and Lavonte David did a spectacular job locking up Kelce. Todd Bowles deserves a hell of a lot of credit for his game plan. He pretty much said, you aren’t beating us with Hill or Kelce.. Oh, JPP had a great game. To anyone who forgot. We gave him away for BJ Hill and Kyle Lauletta. Bucs got an elite edge rusher, we got a rotational player in Hill and a quarterback who’s on the practice squad in Cleveland. Yeah, we won in that deal.. Mike Remmers was KC’s starting LT

Happy for JPP getting another ring. But not to the point that I’ve become delusional, he’s in the best place possible for him. Whenever I watch him its all effort, never gives up on a play. Future HoFer in my book. For all those complaining about the calls in favor of the Bucs, I saw multiple unflagged holds on JPP ... he was relentless

Goes both ways i guess People complain about the the PIs called on the Chiefs, I could tell you I saw at least 5 uncalled holding where the chiefs guard was virtually wrestling the DE/DTs ..and they still got close to Mahomes. Bucs defense came to play yesterday. The Chiefs were not up to the challenge

If you aren’t aware of who he is, he’s a back up. And he did just fine against Jones. It’s the NFL, have to do your job. No excuses..

Good NFL players take advantage Unfortunately both OTs were out, It would have been horrific if they didn't take advantage of these bad mismatches... What would any GM think if Barrett was controlled all game by Remmers one on one in his final game on his franchise tag in the Super Bowl?

All that said, the Bucs had two elite pass rushers going against two bad OT’s and that was a huge factor in the game.

But the pressure on Mahomes was hardly the biggest factor. What the Bucs did with their secondary was more impressive than what they did in the backfield. Nobody negates pressure better than Mahomes and nobody makes more plays outside the pocket. He had plenty of looks downfield, he just was throwing to receivers covered by 3 or 4 defenders. And Remmers didn’t put 31 points up for the Bucs. They ran for 150 at over 5 yards per carry. You’re not losing many games with those numbers.

It seemed like everyone else in the sports world thought so too. I turns out that he's just as dependant on the team around him as every other QB ever. And every QB sucks when they have a horrible OL. Who knew?

Who knew? this is true, however he doesn't need a team to perform well to look good. Mahomes looked incredible even in a game where nobody on his offense showed up. Some QBs are just good others aren't.

His receivers all looked like Evan Engram and the defense gave it away with stupid penalties. But he was obviously massively affected by the pressure.

I can't find any reason too at this date in time.. Not what the thread was about. Wait , what? So you're saying building a balanced football team has nothing to do with the GM. That makes no sense.. Good one!

Whenever I watch him its all effort, never gives up on a play. Future HoFer in my book. For all those complaining about the calls in favor of the Bucs, I saw multiple unflagged holds on JPP ... he was relentless There were a ton of penalties that weren't called on both sides of the ball. And while the disparity in the first half certainly helped the Bucs, no 31-9 game is decided by the refs. The Chiefs were completely beaten in all four phases of the game.

should we be praising Gettleman? Never said that , everythread needn't be a DG bitch thread. Well it's his roster, his cap and his record. All along he's gone about his business like his audience isn't smart enough to recognize the blind spots he arrogantly defends as if 15 wins over 3 years doesn't exist.

Edge rusher is the premium position in todays NFL aside from a really good QB...
