.. He definitely played faster than what people were claiming He is more than just a big bodied guy that moves the chains only and this confirms it... The question is ,is he worth the 11th pick if the big 3 and Pitts is gone. . Will teams have him rated higher than Waddle or Smith .. I have liked him since last year so I have no issues with him being our guy

Smith - not even a close call IMHO. Bateman “ should “ be more durable. I’ve seen Smith take some pretty solid hits from some of the SEC’s best. He gets right up - he’s kinda like a Gumby if you’re old enough to know what that is.
Bateman should be good and I wouldn’t hate the pick.
However if you watched Smith every game the past 2 season like I have you wouldn’t give it a second thought. Smith hands down - he’ll be great, if he remains like Gumby.

I think Rashod Bateman is going to be in play at 11. He's polished as hell on film and just ran a 4.39. We drafted 2 Minny players last year as well so there may be come connection to the staff there.

Odell was a late 1st round prospect till like 2 weeks before the draft When he was starting to get ties to us.

WOW!!!! Didn't see that one coming.... Call me crazy, but if the top 4 are gone, and we trade for Orlando Brown, I think I'd be on board with him at 11..... I would 100% be on board if we trade down, no questions asked, but now I'm warming up to the idea of him at 11 (if the top 4 are gone)

I'm not a big fan of Waddle, he can't run the entire route tree and isn't really a fit in our system, but what are your concerns regarding Devonta Smith? I know some on here want us to reach for any WR, but if the value isn't there and FO doesn't like any prospect at 11, I'd be open to us trading down and acquiring some day 2 picks. His frame. That's it. I think he's a stud and would ultimately be happy if we took him, but I have real concerns with him holding up. Alabama had legit threats at nearly every position, which spread most defenses thin. In the NFL, Smith is going to be a target. At 165-170lbs, I just don't seem him holding up. Waddle would be the only one of the top 4 offensive weapons I feel would be a reach. In my opinion, he seems like the same "gadget player" awe see every year that never pans out, plus he's coming off an injury. There are better ways to spend the #11 pick. People keep talking about him being too skinny, or his frame being slight, but dude has been in the SEC for a while, never really got injured and was always a willing blocker. Yea, dude is mad skinny, but he never gets banged up, and this is all while playing against future NFLers, not D3 guys. Of course I want my WR to be a little more stout, but I can't knock this guy, he produces

Ok it wasn't his pro day...his agency had their own combine and he 4an it there Still 4.39. Even if it's a 4.45 at his pro day that is still elite deep speed and take it house YAC yard speed...
I think we now have another legit choice at 11 (question is does he now go ahead of us ...)

He stayed relatively healthy during his time in the SEC. You also have to consider the rules in the NFL have completely changed WR's rarely get lit up the way the used to. It happens, but those hits are few and far between.

I remember last year him blowing to top off of defenses all the time.. My take preseason was he is a clone of Justin Jefferson (remember scouts said his liability was being too slow....then pops a 4.42 ) 2 others to watch for that have been hit with "no deep speed, slow " Marshall (he probably runs under 4.5... Coxie

Coxie Bateman REALLY reminds me of Nicks, and I like it. He has always been my favorite WR outside of the top 3. Marshall I'm not really sold on, his iffy hands aren't something I like in a pass catcher. Even though I like everything else about him

I just can’t see the Bama guys as Giants for some reason. They just don’t fit visually with how I see this offense looking. Bateman does. I could be way off base, maybe Gettleman will take Waddle, but my other of preference at 11 would be Pitts Chase(both of whom I think will be gone) then Bateman over both Bama WRs.

honestly, other than highlights, I really haven't watched Bateman play, but I have Smith, and would be elated if he's our pick. If Bateman is earnestly in that conversation, I won't gripe if he's our pick, just like Waddle or Pitts. 4.39 is damn fast, as GL said, even if really something closer to 4.45, that is plenty fast enough.

Those worried about his frame are evidently unfamiliar with the hits he has taken by the SEC’s best. I’ve seen him slobber knocked and he bounces up like a jack in the box. Stout WR’s get hurt all the time......... Smith’s DNA is top shelf.

“Smith is too skinny to survive in the NFL”
