I believe the Giants #1 and #2 roster needs are: WR and WR. They really need 2 legit WRs. You should build your Receiving core like a basketball team, you want different types of WRs.
Golloday+Waddle is the perfect complement of WR types.
You have your big skyscraper who wins contested catches in Golloday.
You have your explosive YAC route-runner in Waddle.
Add Shepard in the slot and now you got a dynamite 3-WR set. Anybody else see the Golloday-Waddle WR pairing as the perfectly ideal scenario for the Giants this offseason? It's the best case scenario this offseason imo.

Not happening the Giants do not have the money to aggresively pursue Golloday. I suspect they'll make an effort, but it's just not really feasible as other teams in need will offer more. That being said, they can still get a bargain type guy.. maybe davis, samuel etc. There might be a run on these playmakers early in the top 10.. So, even someone like waddle may not be an option.

His injuries is a main concern though. I Like Golladay and he would be a huge asset to DJ's growth but I personally wouldn't break the bank to get him.

We.will not be able to outbid Jacksonville or Miami...both in dire need for playmakers..and have the additional advantage of no sales tax

This is true, however, if they want Golloday they'll need to start with at least getting rid of solier/zietler and then do some serious restructuring of contracts to get someone like Golloday and also sign other non premium players that the giants are also going to have to pursue in FA as well. It's unlikely, but possible.

Rather, sign our own FA. Namely, Tomlinson !
Giants can always draft receivers .( lower cost )

Miami does have more money to spend, but many factors go into the players decisions. Florida taxes alone aren't a determining factor.

Sounds nice. But is it realistic? Hell no.. Once we tagged Williams all the dreams of signing a top wide receiver were dashed.
The op has the right idea. Fix a glaring weakness on the team with talented players. Now, Daniel Jones has his receivers, and we can finally field an NFL passing attack.

It's okay to dream... do not listen to the "Cap Strapped Crowd". www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-giants/cap/Don't listen, just read. The Giants are $5.5M over the cap, they need an additional $7M to sign their draft picks and Tomlinson isnt signed yet. Will he accept a signing bonus of a half eaten hotdog and a quarter drink from a bodega?

Everything is contingent on signing Williams. Let it play out, they still haven't even finalized the cap. There have been very few moves around the league so far.

At this point the Saints can do what the hell they want . There is no way they can get under a 185 million dollar cap. What is Goodell going to do? Put the owner in football prison?

Not interested in an often injured player.. At least that's what I keep reading about him.. I do hope they can add a couple of WRs this off season!

Why would we spend a first round pick on a slot receiver? From what IRC most these smaller guys become gadget receivers, not to mention this is literally all we've been drafting recently. How about someone that will fight for every catch like a Nicks/Plax...doesn't have to be 6'5... just someone with big/GOOD hands that can actually compete for a catch like most teams have. We've been trying to build with WR's that can't do a god damn thing unless they're wide open. I wasn't a big fan of Golden Tate but that's exactly what I mean...someone that can make a contested grab and he wasn't even tall! Slayton, Golladay, Shep and one more bigger guy would be good to me. Let's not forget about pettis either...showed some flashes. /rant

I don't think this has happened except though deception so not sure...

People say they don’t want a WR coming off an injury. What do you think we’d be getting with Waddle? Much worse than a strain, he may not be 100% this season.

It's up to the organization to fix it and it will cost players tough to get ahead as a team with this cap situation. Look to see who the winners and losers are going to be
