Disagree, I could see them taking an OL there. I just don't think it will be Slater. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but he just doesn't seem to fit. I could be nuts, and likely never know if I'm right. If they take him I will clearly be wrong. I just don't think Slater will be high enough on their board to be BPA at their pick before he is picked by another team. I think there is a lot of group think going on with Slater in the media. Huge jump in perceived talent year over year, which happens, but I've never seen it happen with a player that didn't play that season before. I find it odd to say the least. Well i hope you're right. If im thinking about whats the one thing that will hold this team back from winning games next year its the OL. I just think the FO thinks higher of Peart than the fans do. DG spent a top-100 pick on him just last year so I doubt they take his replacement in the first. They could go OG but I just dont think they will at #11. Though, I would prefer they did, our biggest whole is OL. We can get by next year without an EDGE You can make a case for need at every position for the Giants, save safety and QB maybe. The Giants are in really good shape heading into the draft as they don't have a desperate need somewhere as well as have a position where taking a player there would be a waste. I lot of the deep positions it some of the perceived needs as well. WR, OL, CB and ER are all quite deep this year with high end talent at the top. They could spend all 6 picks at those 4 positions and do much to improve the team. LB is shallow but if one of the top guys like Collins or Davis is there for them, they aren't stacked enough at LB to pass. Same situation for TE, nobody there that would prevent that pick if the talent is there, but not a deep or plentiful class. I'd say DL and Safety are the weakest positions in this draft, but there are a few guys in the later rounds that could add to the Giants unit. But overall neither position is stacked at the top nor do they have much depth of talent.

I would say that both Guard positions are currently in bad shape at this time and could be what derails this season..

We dont need a 4-3 DE, we need a 3-4 OLB IMO, I dont know if Paye can hang in the 3-4.Ā What happens when we ask him to drop into coverage Top edge guys in this draft: Paye, Phillips, Ojulari, Rousseau, Tryon, Oweh, Ossai, Basham, etc....The only one serviceable in coverage is Ossai and I like him but not at 11.Ā Paye has the movement skills to be decent there eventually but that is not what he will be asked to do. Look at the top edge players currently n the NFL, very few are more than serviceable in coverage.Ā Paye would be a very good 4-3 DE, but that is not all he is and if the Giants plan on lining him up only on the outside to rush the passer all day, then they picked the wrong player.Ā If the Giants spend the 11th pick in the draft on a player that only rushes the passer from the outside, then they have wasted the 11th pick. The Giants like to move players around, bring their rushers from many angles.Ā They don't run a 3-4 or a 4-3 but a very hybrid system with multiple looks.Ā A player that can do as many things as Paye is great for this system.Ā If you want a guy that is just an outside pass rusher there are better choices. So that would be like Leonard Williams?? We have LW and Lawrence, we don't need another DE who isn't gonna rush the passer from the outside. He's a straight on rusher who lacks the bend to come from the outside IMO.

He was the worst rated pass blocking guard in the league. Galloday, Rudolph, and Jones are going to have a hard time being successful with that kind of blocking and we still have no answer for RG.

He has the athleticism, his problems were mostly technique. You can make big improvements between year 1 and 2. The Giants sure seem to have alot of faith in him.

Just listened to David Diehl profess his love for Paye ... his favorite of the Edge class š¤·āāļø and? are you a Paye fan? Iām a Michigan fan and, while he had some flash moments, he didnāt ever seem to take over games like I would hope to see from a #11 pick. Iāve also read that Michigan had him doing things that didnāt capitalize on his strengths. Frankly, I donāt know enough to know whether thatās true or not. What I do know is that Diehl knows a lot more than a bunch of message board scouts like us

My comment is pertains to the hypocrisy of this front office. Have to draft the best player and canāt draft for need whereas they drafted Barkley and then needed a QB. I canāt keep track of the laundry list anymore. Itās too long
