Heck of a player, just not sure we need him on this DL with Lawrence already. Our staff apparently likes Bulldogs too so we will see. We do not have a long term replacement for Thomlinson . That is why I think a DT is one of our first round picks. Yep And fits the Gettleman mode perfectly for big guys up front help you win narrative... If all goes to plan and the Bears have a pick between 8-14 (while we pick between 23-27)an IDL would indeed be a BPA with the first pick and a great one potentially

The 3-4...most important position...the nose tackle....gonna be some good ones this year and the talented DT's always get plucked high....that boring trench warfare and the fat boys. Clemson is bringing back ALL 11 defensive starters from last year, and the DL is full of NFL talent. Jordan Davis is one of those premiere DT's...the Bulldogs are stacked, and if they get the new secondary playing well, they will be only team IMHO that could give Alabama some trouble. BTW...interesting playoff fact. Georgia opens up this college year against.... Clemson Smart vs Swinney Damn, that's already the Saturday must see TV game....can't wait

I don’t care how we do it but I want Treylon Burks on the Giants in the next draft. Golladay, Burks, and Toney would be ludicrous

He’s a freak. Like 6’3 230+, 4.4 speed, 5XL gloves, etc. Him and their safety Catalon are two really good players on a bad team (but improving). He should have a really really good year this year I think. I would take him with a first (second one) as a luxury pick lol

If Jones is legit this seems to be a very defense heavy top of the draft from what I've seen so far
If Jones is legit our actual pick will be in the 20s and hopefully the Bears is sold top 10 yo tap onto some of that talent

If we're picking 7, Gettleman is gone, possibly Judge...barring season ending injury...so is Daniel Jones.
IOW, we're going QB at pick 7....probably using the Bears pick to move up as well.
This 7 pick would also dictate our OL was not taking that step forward, and we will be drafting more talent.
7: R1 P7 QB Spencer Rattler - Oklahoma
12: R1 P12 OT Evan Neal - Alabama
39: R2 P7 WR Chris Olave - Ohio State
71: R3 P7 DL Jordan Davis - Georgia
85: R3 P21 CB Josh Jobe - Alabama

With both our 1sts this year and possibly another next year ..

I think we make the playoffs and accepting a trade back with Pittsburgh makes our own Pick a bit more realistic (look at the haul I got back...even though I only went 5 rounds) Strictly went BPA BTW what happened to all the interior D linemen..that was the one position I wanted to target early....
12: R1 P12 G Ikem Ekwonu - N.C. State
We don't know what this position ends up or even of we bring Hernandez back.. BPA meets possible instant fill big hole
22: R1 P22 EDGE Zach Harrison - Ohio State
A LOT of edge rushers next year looks like.. Carter probably gone as well as X man ..get a 1st round guy to fill the rotation.
39: R2 P7 CB Trent McDuffie - Washington
BPA at possibly our deepest position in 2022
54: R2 P22 LB Payton Wilson - N.C. State
BPA 2nd level ...could be groomed to replace Martinez
71: R3 P7 QB Matt Corral - Ole Miss
What what WHAT? well..when you have 4 3rd round picks and 8 in the top 100 you can afford to get a developmental qb to groom to be a good backup plus...(my scenario tells me Jones is also legit)
85: R3 P21 OT Sean Rhyan - UCLA
BPA ..young swing tackle witb starting upside
86: R3 P22 DL Taron Vincent - Ohio State
This was the earliest I could find an IDL without reaching... thus I'm not exactly happy with this draft
97: R3 P33 OT Kellen Diesch - Arizona State
A lot of competition at OT the next few years ..BPA
109: R4 P7 TE Charlie Kolar - Iowa State
Replaces Engram 114: R4 P12 LB David Ugwoegbu - Oklahoma
BPA...funny last name
149: R5 P7 RB Rachaad White - Arizona State
Another backup RB
177: R5 P35 WR Theo Wease - Oklahoma
Depth at WR
TRADES Trade Partner: Pittsburgh Steelers
Sent:
Round 1 Pick 7 Received:
Round 1 Pick 22 Round 2 Pick 22 Round 3 Pick 22 Round 3 Pick 33 Round 5 Pick 35 Round 6 Pick 21

So I manipulated the draft to simulate what I think happens We make the playoffs,Jones is legit and the line fells
Bears have a top 5 pick
Interesting
:R1 P5 CB Derek Stingley - LSU
3 QBs went ahead of me as did the edge guy from Oregon You bow make an on paper deep position group ridiculously and historically deep and have an on team replacement when Bradbury's deal runs out after 2022...giving us an extra 2023 3rd round comp pick and a player that isn't thrown out there day 1 in this day and age where corners suffer their rookie years .
25: R1 P25 G Ikem Ekwonu - N.C. State
Hernandez future is iffy and while I'm more confident on Lemieux its bit a given BPA and possible need match
39: R2 P7 EDGE Ali Gaye - LSU
Carter is a FA in 2022,X man might not be here ...was looking actually for an IDL starter or rotation piece..nothing.... Just another piece to the rotation
71: R3 P7 LB Henry To'o To'o - Alabama
BPA..more depth at the 2nd level
85: R3 P21 DL Perrion Winfrey - Oklahoma
Your IDL guy albeit a little later than I wanted..
109: R4 P7 WR Ainias Smith - Texas A&M
Don't know much about him but we possibly could be at the time of the draft down Shepard,Petis and Ross and Slayton in his last year,so any type of playmaker should be added sometime around d here and he was BPA.
114: R4 P12 TE Will Mallory - Miami
Engram will be a past tense,a lot of guys on their last year of contract
Edit Very disappointed I didn't come away witb a day one IDL starter

Football can't get here soon enough ...my Saturdays and Sundays glued to the big screen. Hopefully Jones comes out strong and we can just sit back and root against the Bears and not worry about QB's. Oh, can we dream and get Kayvon Thibodeaux?....if that Bears pick gave us this guy who I believe would fit our base 3-4 perfectly...we would, as of now, found ourselves that superstar DE.

Thanks for the heads up for Gaye..wasn't too familiar with him so that is noted (was keeping it BPA...interesting that there was an insane glut of edge guys where we picked in the 2nd there) What I forgot to do was trade back all my 1st 4 Giants picks to get 25 in every round You can't pass on Stingley...even if we had Lester Hayes and Prime time in their primes as our starters... The football blood line shows (especially how he is dedicating his entire career to his grandfather Daryl) This is going to be an extremely deep draft class for defense it looks like So why not just go with the flow and add to it

If he balls like we think he can (remember the SEC is like the NFL minor league) He is a top 10 pick I honestly don't know if it's a wise idea to use a potential top 10 pick on another WR (let's assume Bears 7 and Giants 25)... Honestly I'm wanting to beef both lines...especially interior early if the value is there

If we're picking 7 we had a brutal year, and so did Jones and the OL Olave in the 2nd round is steal at this point...although we would probably not have the 12 or 39...as they would be moving up if possible for a new QB...so figure using the first 3 picks on a single QB. I'm just responding to where they have us picking. Yes, a 7 pick would be incompetence

So while not remotely interested in doing a mock till at least week 5 this year as we aren't picking top 10 with our pick until we are ....
Just starting to do a little research. This next draft is going to be incredibly defense heavy and deep.
If Jones does his part and the o line trends to a5 least average with a bullet Wow
We have ..what .. 7 picks in the top 130? Can you imagine going purely BPA luxury style and having the Bears pick be either Stingley or a Beast IDL to add to Williams and Lawrence?
Go 5 of the 1st 7 picks be defense and the other 2 O line depth and maybe a TE..

I don't know how you guys can do this seriously before the 2021 season.
I only know the prospective super studs.
I can't wait to see the QBs play. No Lawrence this year. Could be a surprise or 2 though.

Almost tempted to do a post 53 roster draft
But unlike last year where it was glaring we were lacking on corners and WRs ... Hell...even we seemed to pick up at least one young starting prospect on the interior and we could be deep here depending on Hernandez and such
TE seems to be the weak link and I'm not doing a pre season mock because we are probably thin at TE..
Let's hope by week 4 we aren't doing these and QBs are the top of the to do list
