It's not as if we couldn't have won with Jones. I think Colt threw something like 15 passes for barely 100 yards that day. But staying healthy is key. And yet there is a segment of this fan base that wants to build a team that plays this way every week One would think the entire fan base would want them to play like that every week. Play in a way that wins the game, who gives a flying **** how they manage it?

I mean a segment that only wants to play retro goober ball all 17 games win or lose If we establish the weapons outside early to establish a fear factor out there there could be games we run for 250 plus on tbe ground witb all that empty green in the box, especially with Barkley near full strength

Whatever works. We had 190 rush yards that game, paired with a dominant pass rush. I don't think this philosophy will change just because we have some new receivers. We are not going back to a retro goober style of prevent offense no matter what a few relics want They didn't spend 70 plus million on Golladay and a 1st on Toney to make Jones a game manager. If they ar able to establish these weapons ASAP to put a fear factor into opposing defenses then there will be a ton of green to run it at will We are if the backup QB is playing.

The idea is to not have the backup play We also got a backup that had more than a 20 yard arm this time

Smashing a big back into a brick wall 35 times a game playing a prevent offense will guarantee they will be lucky to win 4 games

Smashing a big back into a brick wall 35 times a game playing a prevent offense will guarantee they will be lucky to win 4 games Well since there are no walls on the field, I don't think it will have an impact on the game. But good luck finding a player willing to do that on the sidelines. Love it, Giants win...Giants fans complain about how they win. Giants lose....Giants fans complain about losing. Sometimes I think the Giants could go undefeated for 50 consecutive seasons and the fans will find complaints about winning the last 50 Super Bowls with an average point difference of only 5 points. They won the game by passing as little as necessary because Colt McCoy was starting. Maybe if they did some of the same things that took the pressure off of McCoy when Jones was starting, they would have won more games. IDK, but they won that one and I am rather happy that they did.

And as I correctly predicted it was not sustainable (which pissed off the moron relics that were jacking their meat over winning a game old school style and were hoping that is what we would be...notice their silence now )

We won that game in the trenches on both sides. Gallman ran for over 8 yards per carry and DL couldn't be blocked. It was classic Giants football. The opponent knows our plan, they know we're going to run it and still couldn't do anything. We had no threat to throw with McCoy and we wore the defense down to nothing. If you're having that much success on the ground, you just keep pounding it. Maybe you can't win every game that way, but that was a perfect example of how football is won in the trenches.

Well, it has been my experience that the team that wins the trenches, wins the game. Regardless of whether they mostly threw it or ran it. Many things change in football, but this never has. You win or lose the game at the LOS.
