Not a stellar draft in 2022 for QB's. Top prospects like Rattler are smurfs. This is truth according to the scouts who evaluate talent for the coaches and management...but even when a season starts with say Darnold and Rosen types getting the franchise hype, other QB's do sometimes emerge during the college year...Mayfield and Allen for that years example Myself and Irish Mike shall be scouting the college season and QB's especially close this year, in case Jones continues to struggle....I'm sure we'll at least find a top running back and linebacker for this team.

We all need faith Prayers that... Andrew Thomas becomes the best offensive lineman I've seen in the SEC for as long as I remember, the guy who was swatting pass rushers on their asses and destroying obstacles to create the Autobahnen for our running backs. You give Barkley an entrance ramp to the highway's center lane, and the dimes will drop However, if Thomas plays many games like he was in this video of last year...we're going to be regretting passing on Slater for years to come Sadly, this is why Solder was kept...this video

Thats a tall order. Hernandez...another crap shoot Bottom line this team still has two main hurdles. OL and Jones. Odds are stacked against them both historically and in just plain old reality. With that said I see it working.......

Pretty strong possibility I think the deciding factor will be if the staff thinks they can win with him now if he repeats last years numbers he is probably her training the new QB or competing with him.

More and better offensive weapons at WR and TE Better pass protection. SB’s return to solidify a more productive RB stable ( the kid we drafted from Arizona is great addition)
The recipe for DJ to flop on his face doesn’t exist IMO
DJ is a very talented dude. He needed a better supporting cast.
I believe he’s going to shine this season.
Think positive.

Haha I'm sort of thinking the Giants were looking for the Hernandez replacement in this draft...don't see them giving him contract 2. Lemieux is sort of a mystery for me...I loved his play blocking for Herbert in the northwest, but he had Sewell as his tackle...and well, Herbert as the QB. Still, we were looking at games where he was doing this... Sep 4, 2019 Destroying SEC future NFL players and a then GREAT DL...BTW, these are the best videos to watch to break down any player...the single games snap by snap...boring, but a far better evaluation vs highlight videos. Unless we just want to argue google searches and what a coach, player of beat writer says...haha The kid is smart, has feet...Auburn played now Jags star DT Derrick Brown on the opposite side, but this video has him doing it all...run blocking with feet, with power and most importantly, fantastic pass pro. That's what he was absolutely horrendous last year in doing...we want vertical?... we will need that interior and pressure kept clean for our Mr. Jones. He "does" have upside if you watch this game snap video alone...

couldn't it be said that most QBs who make it to the NFL might be successful if they had a good supporting cast, I use Trent Dilfer as an example...

The historical odds of him becoming a a very good G in the NFL is a long shot. But it can happen. I think the kid has a decent foundation to work off. Now its about desire, work and the rest of the OL coming together.

Do you mean flops on his face like literally?
I hope that doesn't happen again haha. Fastest damn QB in the NFL though. I think it will all depend on how the scouting goes. I've never scouted high school players before so I'm not an expert. If they have a QB they like and we are in position to take him then I think they would if Jones was horrible. I don't see them forcing a pick for a QB they don't believe in though, especially if a stud is there in another area. If Kayvon Thibodeaux as a great year and is there we won't pass on him for a QB we don't believe in.
With that said Jones won't flop this year. He will prove all the high school experts wrong and have a great year.

A supporting cast always helps but ultimately the QB will have to stand on his own to survive for very long (on the same team).

One of the hidden beauties behind our Rd1 trade this year is the fact we now have two picks to leverage in a trade up if need be.

Well, we all hope that happens...the consequences of him and the Giants having another losing year will have us all awaiting for Arch Manning, who has not even finished his high school career.
Here's a kid we scouted, and is actually a higher rated prospect going from high school into college than Arch...Oregon Ducks, true freshman. He will be available in 3 more years...they suggest dual threat, but while he can run, it's what you look for...eyes downfield, and looking to pass first. Jones seems more of a designed to run QB vs somebody who throws lasers across his body and creates plays. He does have a good deep ball regarding accuracy... If Jones has no progress...gonna get ugly if we pick a linebacker at 6.

Sadly, if he fails...that means the OL is as well...and I hate the thought of putting a rookie QB behind a failing OL, with a head coach on year 3...a do or die year, with a new GM drooling at the thought of having "his" head coach.

There has only been one Qb that I know of, that has not had a supporting cast season to season and continued to perform. With Golladay Shepard Toney Barkley Engram and Rudolph. On paper it looks like a good cast.

And I say this as someone's you know very well that was on the Slater or ATV train or a guy day 2 inside

Would fans be okay with getting an established QB such as Wilson. Sure, gonna need some cap expert to play with the numbers...but Wilson vs unknown quantity? Hey GL...remember the Thompson kid we were scouting 2 years back, and how I suggested he was the best QB I ever seen in high school and to keep an eye on? This kid
I posted a while back he chose the Ducks over 20 other teams...this is an interesting development on a team we will all be watching for their talent at DE this year. n.rivals.com/news/fact-or-fiction-trevor-lawrence-maalik-murphy-ty-thompson We could be watching Ty Thompson next year as a starter for the Ducks as a true freshmen...and I too would not be surprised. He has some great competition, but this kid has the arm talent that is mind blowing...with legs and the ability to throw dimes on the run. Like watching a high school junior hit 4oo foot home runs, or bring it near 100 mph...those special talents are rare, and so great to see at a high school level. Oh baby...Friday Night Lights, a College season and the NFL do or die year for our beloved Giants...miss me some football. Get that draft section hopping ....gonna be a interesting year.

If he falls on his face in what was a give Jones a hand offseason, he will force the Giants to start to look elsewhere at quarterback. You most certainly decline his 5th year option. That’s a no brainer, you can take the bumps in the road making $7 million dollars. You won’t be so forgiving when he’s making $20 million and still making the same boneheaded mistakes.
The Giants have options though. They have two 1st round picks next year. They can use them for a trade, or draft a quarterback. Either way, the Giants can’t just sit idly and hope he works out. Be proactive, and don’t let this become another Kent Graham and Danny Kanell situation.
