Okay, next opponent up on Thursday a lot needs to work itself out for that game: plan, adjustments and I guess conditioning for the starters (sad attempt at humor), if nothing happens and it is not a competitive game where they leave it all on the field(win or lose). Then, the Message Board may implode!
It's borderline insanity to watch these games with the same result year in and year out. I cannot call this a rebuild anymore, cannot call this DJ needs more weapons and for God's sake where did the Defense go today?
I call it a dumpster fire.
I try to remain optimistic but finally maybe I need to go to the dark side for awhile... I am fired up since this was such a big miss expectation wise. Thankfully, this week, I am going fishing in Mexico for Blue/Yellowfin Tuna plus Dorado maybe even a Wahoo!
So, I will miss this game but will have it recorded. So with what little optimism I have left it is on the line this week boys, jeez so sad.

It is pretty clear now whether this “rebuild” has or will be successful under Gettleman and Judge…..it will not. Mara should and will not act too quickly, but there will be a house cleaning before Halloween as this team has no chance to succeed, and it is hard to see which team they might beat on their schedule this season. They have no QB, no Offensive line, no running game, no pass rush and no coaching……hmmmmmm…..what should Mara do….. Mara should fire himself because this organization is a shell of what it used to be .. there is something drastically wrong inside this organization and it starts at the top . As he’s walking out then he should fire everyone else also ..

im hoping Tishe has had enough of Mara and his family nepotism. What is he going to do? He isn't the decision maker I keep having dreams that somehow I wake up with $120 billion and make an offer to buy out both Mara and Tish ,build my own privately funded grass stadium Granted knowing how I am I would have to lock myself in a room to prevent myself from being too hands on but I would hope I would figure out a way to run this team like a modern franchise forbid any gooberdom here

He is out of sight and mind. He lays low and counts his stacks like an NFL owner should. He is a businessman and leaves the football decisions to the people he hires. Mara is a trust fund baby and wannabe football guy who talks a big game while knowing just as much about the team as a football message board poster.

Do yourself a favor and tape your fishing trip….you will not want to watch what happens on Thursday night. we’ve seen this movie before. Both teams look awful, the game is frustrating and the Giants win b/c the Washington QB blows an easy play. Gettleman’s fan club celebrates the W and plays the “we don’t understand why fans are upset” card. “We just beat the defending NFC East Champions!!” Next

There is so much to talk about but what has happened to this franchise is a disgrace. I blame John Mara for thinking he knows how to run this team. It's the classic owner'son who fks up the business once he takes over. The structure of the organization is the problem. You can't have a HC and GM that are basically equals under the owner, with the owner having input on hiring. Whatever you think of DG, do you think he would have hired JJ on his own? I don't. A GM trying to save his job doesn't hire a former st coach with no experience. They need to hire a good GM from outside the organization and give him the power to run everything under him. But they won't.

We have an owner who's stuck in the past and obviously he hired a GM who's also stuck in the past.
This league is passing our organization by.

Yesterday really pissed me off and was very disappointing....however...let's pump the breaks a bit. It was one game in week 1.
I do think Jason Garrett should be fired sooner than later, assuming he doesn't drastically improve his playcalling soon. But give the Giants a few more weeks before we start assessing where the team is at. A lot of 'good teams' played terrible yesterday.
I also think we're not talking enough about how well the Broncos played yesterday. They were at least as equally good as the Giants were bad. I thought their roster was loaded other than having a game manager at qb...and not only did that look to be true, but Teddy Bridgewater played like Brett Favre. That was a very good team that the Giants played yesterday, and they were clearly more prepared than our Giants.
Im not giving the Giants a pass for that performance, but I'm not giving up on the season because of it either. Even good teams tend to have a few bad games, let's hope that's what this was.

Just love that old architecture. Has so much life and soul, contrary to MetLife Stadium. I hate that it's even called Metlife 🙄

I wish I could be that optimistic, but I am tiring of the excuses... 1) It's just training camp 2) It's just the first preseason game and they didn't have a lot of the starters 3) It's just the third preseason game, they were working out some of the kinks in the offense 4) It's just the first game of the season, let's wait a few more before the season is over 16) It's just the last game of the season, with the high draft picks this team will be a SB contender next year! This could just be a slow start, but unfortunately a lot of the best chances for the Giants to win are right at the start of the season.

I hope you're right. But almost every aspect of it was so bad its hard to have much confidence. It looked to me like the whole team was just unprepared to play a game and every aspect of it was just vanilla. Aside from his runs, did DJ even move out of the pocket on any play? They ran one jet sweep that got blown up and never tried anything else with their first round draft pick. I have given Garret the benefit of the doubt, but he was so overmatched by Shurmer yesterday its astonishing. Giving this a few more weeks is going to end up with us 0-3, IMO. I know they arent changing much with another game on Thursday, but in the long week after that something needs to change. Like maybe fire JG and promote Kitchens.

Even back to the days of Ron Ernardt the fans kill the play calling. Hated Gilbride, Shumur, etc. Now Garrett. For the past decade the offensive talent has stunk. From an older immobile QB with no OL who checks down non-stop to a QB who everybody can see looks at one receiver and occasionally checks off. It starts with QB. A change of Coordinators doesn’t do anything IMO.

Mara is too worried about the perception as a flagship franchise. Too much of a pussy for widesweeping change. It’s always a piece at a time. We have been ass for the better part of a decade and he’s a big part of it. Well said. I have never liked John Mara. Even during the long past good years.

Wellington Mara knew his weaknesses and got the people he needed after he failed in the 1970’s….the current Mara is a weakling who can’t admit to his weaknesses. A good owner hires qualified people…..a weak owner hires people he knows or likes.

Pretty much what i have said in a few threads here: Before too long, however, Lombardi's focus shifted over to the dismal offensive effort, taking Jason Garrett's system to task.
"There's no imagination. And Barkley's not ready to play yet," Lombardi said. "He had 10 carries for 26 yards, he has no juice in his lower body. Did anybody watch him practice?"
"John Mara is one of the nicest human beings on planet earth. Unfortunately, John Mara can't have an honest conversation about his organization or evaluate himself. That's just a problem. It's just a hard thing. He's loyal to people, he likes people. They're stuck in time. They can't get out of it. They won't change, and they think Garrett's a good coach! They think, because he went to Princeton, he's a great offensive mind — no he's not!
"It's one of the worst offenses to watch, and you're not helping the quarterback."

I am also on this bandwagon. If they don't want to completely divorce themselves from nepotism, at least poach someone from the Steelers who they have a connection with. They have proven to restock very well year after year. Though my first choice would be they go take whoever they can get from the Ravens org.
