Surprise rookie with a serious illness in 2020 that dropped him to the 6th round. Fair answer, though. Every team passed on him at least 6 times But this is the poster boy for us passing on a lineman I guess every team that passed on Brady at least 6 times should also be held accountable for their qb issues from 2000 on So every team had as big as an issue at guard as we did? That’s hard to believe since we were widely regarded as having a bottom 3-4 O line in the league and have been working on putting together an average O line (at best) for 4 years. I didn’t realize every team was as desperate as we are at guard.

Who is drafting a OL with 2 bloodclots in his lungs unless it's a throw-away pick? 6th round flyer who has worked out so far. That's Victor Cruz rare. He played his entire senior year without any issues and if he works out he will most likely be a very good long time starter whereas most 6th rounders won’t even make the practice squad. It’s called risk vs reward and out of all teams the Giants were the ones who could have used him the most. You’ve never played football before, have you? Only someone whose never strapped on the pads would say something so foolish. Offensive Lineman with history of bloodclots in his lungs. Offensive Lineman who also gets hit in the chest area every play. I'll take someone else everytime if I'm thinking long-term. You can be hindsight extraordinaire once again.

Im guessing they are regretting not drafting at least 1 OL in the draft right about now. I'm still shocked by this. After FA our only glaring need was to bolster the OL. I still like most of the players we drafted, but not addressing OL was mind boggling.

“We like who we have”. I’m sure DG liked who he had for the past 3 years as well but this time is different because it’s Judges team and they’re all his guys, Gettleman just gets who Judge wants. Nothing to be concerned about here. That's what makes people dislike Gettleman - his arrogant condescension. "It's really apparent that we have more confidence in our OL than you guys do." Then the team proceeds to completely change out the IOL depth after training camp and to switch OL positions around after Game 1. Lemiuex unfortunately got hurt, but had looked good. And you have to admit, Smith looks great in hindsight, but wasn't exactly a projected rookie starter. Some players we discussed in the mid-rounds like Banks, Davis and Eichenburg have been disappointments. So the FO had some idea what they're doing.

A RB over a potential 1st round guard who played his entire senior year without any issues. That’s laughable. You probably supported taking Barkley at #2 overall. RISK VS REWARD, is that a new concept to you? It's situational to each team and he would have been a perfect risk for the Giants to take.

Several writers have mentioned this. Move our most consistent olineman to a different position? That sounds bizarre. They should've been looking for guards this off season. I think it's a luxury when you can place him anywhere around the line as needed. He's proven he can play tackle, center and I wouldn't be shocked if he could play guard. In fact I thought a move to guard would have been more natural than going from tackle to center last year.

Drafting OL isnt all about right now, its about building depth and future projections. As for the OLmen who played week 1 from this class, I havent done much homework but I think there were several good ones later in the draft, and certainly ones who would make our 53 so we dont need to bring in a Skura or trade for a Bredeson or Price. I think the Ravens got a good Guard too in the the mid rounds they like. Ohio St maybe? Humphrey the C drafted by LAC is getting some great reviews from week 1. Trey Smith to KC seems to be doing well. The point is, the draft is there to help strengthen weaknesses. Or OL is a clear weakness. Get some bodies in there and see what happens. I was particularly worried about losing Zeitler and not having a RT outside of hoping Peart works out.

Passionately arguing hindsight while shitting on a rookie RB who earned his roster spot and has done nothing wrong as of yet is hilarious. Here's your crown King... 👑

Yet he aquires a guard that he probably would have drafted last year had he fallen a few spots for basically moving back 25 or so spots in the mid rounds that has good starting g upside after cut-down day and it's shit on ... Look I'm as down on Gettleman as most are here but this is just assenine We get a guy who looks to be plug an play now as depth that possibly makes Hernandez expendable if he plays good and Lemieux is also good

I dont trust any moves they make with the OL anymore.
I do know an OL needs consistency. Moving Gates would be kind of odd and dumb IMO.

That was Reese and I thought the same Except Dallas tampered to scare teams away as his agent was saying if he wasn't take in tbe 1st 3 rounds that he wasn't going to report and already had plane tickets to Dallas before the draft was over

But I don't see who I would switch from our draft class for the player that was available. Or wasn't. I wanted Banks or Davis at G and I would've been dead wrong.

This is the move I wanted them to do with him last season.. With some potentially decent guards and centers on the roster I can see this happening at some point..

Good point but this will just prolong the problem in the future. Now, if they draft Oline in 2022 they will have to wait even longer to develop a player. Hell, you even mentioned in multiple posts that you expected the Giants to draft a Guard and wanted them to. It was logical to draft a guard since they were losing their best Oline, who also happened to be a Guard.

I see that as an extra 2020 o line pick for us
