Several writers have mentioned this. Move our most consistent olineman to a different position? That sounds bizarre. They should've been looking for guards this off season.

I don't think they will do that. I read this morning that it will be one of the recent signings at LG.

Skura ( former Duke ) and Price have played guard. Or , both will be backups.

Gates moving to LG and Price/Skura at center seems to be happening per multiple beat writers.

Why do I have this feeling which ever way they decide….it will be a bigger disaster.

If that's the case then why is Bredeson here? 🤔
Im not buying it, smells like media looking for pre-game clicks. Don't fall for it.

I hope you are right Because every moron on BBV that wanted to replace Gates will have gotten their wish and their karma will be the blood on their hands cod wanting this stupidity Let's do this with only 2 practices and the new C not even knowing protections

Gates moving to LG and Price/Skura at center seems to be happening per multiple beat writers. That's what I hear too. For all that we were trying to build on the OL, 2 major setbacks in the past couple of months. Losing Zeitler who was our best OLineman and happens to play G, and now possibly moving our 2nd best OL in Gates to the G position. I was one who was pleasantly surprised with Gates performance at C. He changed my mind quickly with his play at C. IMO, the best fix right now would be to use Price/Skura at G, not C. Start Thomas - Bredeson - Gates - Hernandez - Peart Solder back up OT unfortunately, Skura and Price backup middle of the line.

Im guessing they are regretting not drafting at least 1 OL in the draft right about now.

I haven't heard anything from the reporters that isn't pure speculation based on the signing of Matt Skura to the active roster. None of them have cited any sources that this is happening. Unless you read something I didn't. Skura had some bad exchanges last year that led to a Ravens loss and got him released. Gates/Jones have never had a bad exchange.

I really wish we'd settle into a solid lineup, even if its rough for a bit, if it means some young guys just have to build up reps for the sake of future improvement. Solder should retire after that game, that was absolutely awful. blocking booker was the crown jewel of futility, its become a meme so people can poke fun at the crappy giants. ...it is kinda funny....

Im guessing they are regretting not drafting at least 1 OL in the draft right about now. “We like who we have”. I’m sure DG liked who he had for the past 3 years as well but this time is different because it’s Judges team and they’re all his guys, Gettleman just gets who Judge wants. Nothing to be concerned about here.

I don't think they will do that. I read this morning that it will be one of the recent signings at LG. Seems weird to have both Price and Skura on the active roster active if they are not going to move Gates. Who knows, though, maybe one of those guys will be inactive tonight and they are just making the move because they plan to put Lemieux on IR.

Who should we have drafted that could step in as a starting Guard right now? Trey Smith Who is drafting a OL with 2 bloodclots in his lungs unless it's a throw-away pick? 6th round flyer who has worked out so far. That's Victor Cruz rare. His career can be cut short at any time.

Who should we have drafted that could step in as a starting Guard right now? Trey Smith Surprise rookie with a serious illness in 2020 that dropped him to the 6th round. Fair answer, though you could see why teams passed.

Who should we have drafted that could step in as a starting Guard right now? Trey Smith Ding ding ding! 6th round pick, widely regarded as a potential first rounder but had blood clot issues his junior year of college. Played his entire senior year without any issues and was there for the taking. Got a ~55 PFF grade in his first NFL game which isn’t great but was significantly better than our Will Hernandez and better than most of our rookies first games last year. He was also playing against the Browns. Just an FYI, KC has either 4 or 5 new starters on their O line and held up relatively well against the Browns but here in NY it apparently takes 4-5 years to build a similar O line (or worse) and that’s acceptable to some homers.

Nothing to be concerned about here. That's what makes people dislike Gettleman - his arrogant condescension. "It's really apparent that we have more confidence in our OL than you guys do." Then the team proceeds to completely change out the IOL depth after training camp and to switch OL positions around after Game 1.

Surprise rookie with a serious illness in 2020 that dropped him to the 6th round. Fair answer, though. Every team passed on him at least 6 times But this is the poster boy for us passing on a lineman I guess every team that passed on Brady at least 6 times should also be held accountable for their qb issues from 2000 on

Who is drafting a OL with 2 bloodclots in his lungs unless it's a throw-away pick? 6th round flyer who has worked out so far. That's Victor Cruz rare. He played his entire senior year without any issues and if he works out he will most likely be a very good long time starter whereas most 6th rounders won’t even make the practice squad. It’s called risk vs reward and out of all teams the Giants were the ones who could have used him the most. You’ve never played football before, have you? Only someone whose never strapped on the pads would say something so foolish.
