Is there anyone here that thinks this move will have any profound effect on our offense? If so, I want to hear it.
Yes I know the Browns went 5-3 with Freddie as OC a few years back. But I also know what the Browns looked like with him as HC. Was he the OC as well during that time?

Well.....he seems like he would try to open up the downfield game more. Whether we have the skills to pull it off is another question. Does he get to decide who's playing on the line?

I think it’s likely to have the profound 1 game effect. Since we play the Eagles that’s not a bad thing. Overall you can take a pile of shit and mold it into the statue of David, but at the end of the day it’s still a pile of shit.

Kitchens deserves a test run so we don't promote him outright next year......If he sucks, get rid of the lot of em.

He called plays at head coach and there was a well documented disconnect between him and Todd Monken his OC. So doesn't absolve him of blame. One thing I know for certain, he will be more aggressive than Garrett. I'd give anything to not watch Daniel Jones play robotic football where it looks like he's a head case every play because he sucks right now. I want aggressive, TD making DJ from 2019. Shrink the field if they need to, even more RPO, more option routes, and for the love of God can Kenny Golladay be utilized on go routes, back shoulder routes, and some damn skinny posts so he can make the catches he does in his sleep? 2 targets against the bucks and they were both short field slants. Genuinely don't care if DJ starts fumbling again. Guy has been completely neutered by this offense for 1.5 years and at this point his fumbles have just been replaced by interceptions that boneheaded decisions that at least are a partial result of this robotic unimaginative crap the Giants have been putting on the field. Yeah the offensive line is attrocious, but maye Freddie and co. can scheme around that better as well.

He will probably end up being named our HC next year.

May not become a force overnight. But I bet we’ll see an immediate improvement in the offense.

Little impact imo. Maybe we win a game or two but....... The sorry state of the OL drives everything imo.

If the HC can not fulfill his obligations the position demands. There is no F-ing way the individuals under him can preform their roles. Never has stupid been fixed by following it.

Not sure WTF to expect but it can't get any worse honestly, if anything he is going to look like a Genius by Default because Garrett was SO BAD

I was reading all this without realising Garret had already been fired. I'm going to force myself to be a Kitchens Cheerleader until he proves he's inept as well.

Couldn’t care less about Kitchens. Well the offense couldn't be worse. Doubt if he is the long term answer. He went 5-3 in Cleveland as the OC, here he could go 4-3 or 3-4 in the next 7 games but so could anyone else. But maybe Kitchens could shake things up enough to at least be competitive. We can't score. We have to use a trick play to our LT from a 1st and goal situation. We can't make a yard on 4th down. Terrible turnovers by Jones. Kitchens can only bring us up from these depths of failure and despair.

Is there anyone here that thinks this move will have any profound effect on our offense? If so, I want to hear it. Profound, i doubt it. Can’t see the OL collectively blocking better. Will one look Jones read the field better? He might throw it downfield more often but read a defense better? Idk, i think we’re screwed.

He replaced Todd Haley under very similar circumstances that year. He dials up way more downfield passes (even the games he called as a Giant are our most downfield games). I can pretty much guarantee the O is gonna look way better with him calling plays. Will it lead to wins is another question. We still have an idiot at HC and and underachieving defence.

At the very least this will also open up the running game Freddie did some good stuff with rookie Baker Mayfield when he took over. I think he’ll do good work with Jones and he is buddies with Joe Idiot so there is the opportunity for a long term gig if he actually does well.

Little impact imo. Maybe we win a game or two but....... The sorry state of the OL drives everything imo. The o line and DJ’s weaknesses have driven more of the game plan than I think most want to admit. Hopefully better usage of personnel. That’s low hanging fruit he should be able to handle.

Just look at the 2 plays we have posted here (the 4th and 1 and 3rd and 1) It can't get any worse than that Jones: "hold my beer." Clearly, Garrett wasn’t clear with hitting the open receiver. Instead, Jones is airmailing it to the water boy..
