No he wasn't People need to stop with this "hE was jUsT lIkE eLi Bs" Shurmer hand picked him because he saw Jones as a perfect fit for his system To 100% debunk this,if Herbert came out in 2019 he would be our current qb because Gettleman was I'm full bloom love and Shurmer was probably as well.. There are 5224242 plus reasons to blame the Giants way for everything and we would all be right This isn't one of them And FWIW Herbert,Allen and most of the qbs that are starting in tbe league and good went to the Manning passing camps if what you say is true then I stand corrected in my opinion.. Some people here have this wild conspiracy theory that Eli has the organization hostage or something and Jones was a "favor" If we bypass every qb that goes to the Manning passing camps it would take all the top guys off the table every year

Seems many have forgotten the injuries the Offensive line has taken this season .Season ending injuries. injuries are usually the excuse of a losing team, good teams just plug and play.... Just because it's a cute saying still does not minimalize the effect of losing those people on the Offensive line.

We live in a world of hyperbole and cancel culture. That’s certainly reigns supreme online. Adamant stances for months do a 180 within hours if the tide changes. Funny, sad and true. From an adamant “in Judge we trust”, the OL is fine and this is a 10 win team to abandon ship 180 after an opening day loss. No different for the QB either. Danny Dimes to he’s lost. The HB, he’s amazing to bust. We’re 10 years without competence on the OL. A coaching carousel since 2016 express praise for each coach to burn him at the stake. The silent majority know the line can’t block and the defense can’t rush the passer while loud minority blame life on a coach. Good or bad, no coach wins with this cr@p and it started with Coughlin. The same loud minority wanted him out and would have killed Parcells who started 3-12-1 on a team with Lawrence Taylor.

Is there anyone here that thinks this move will have any profound effect on our offense? If so, I want to hear it.
Yes I know the Browns went 5-3 with Freddie as OC a few years back. But I also know what the Browns looked like with him as HC. Was he the OC as well during that time?
He called plays at head coach and there was a well documented disconnect between him and Todd Monken his OC. So doesn't absolve him of blame. One thing I know for certain, he will be more aggressive than Garrett. I'd give anything to not watch Daniel Jones play robotic football where it looks like he's a head case every play because he sucks right now. I want aggressive, TD making DJ from 2019. Shrink the field if they need to, even more RPO, more option routes, and for the love of God can Kenny Golladay be utilized on go routes, back shoulder routes, and some damn skinny posts so he can make the catches he does in his sleep? 2 targets against the bucks and they were both short field slants. Genuinely don't care if DJ starts fumbling again. Guy has been completely neutered by this offense for 1.5 years and at this point his fumbles have just been replaced by interceptions that boneheaded decisions that at least are a partial result of this robotic unimaginative crap the Giants have been putting on the field. Yeah the offensive line is attrocious, but maye Freddie and co. can scheme around that better as well. I agree 100% and so does a really fired up Bobby Skinner. He makes great points in his rant...

We brought in a bunch of race cars and have been using them like Yugos 100%. The Giants have speed on the outside and a QB that has one of the better deep balls in the game. They better ****ing start stretching the field...

I'm not sure but I thought Fassel did the same thing to Peyton after things went south , I think this has happen before .

Kitchens deserves a test run so we don't promote him outright next year......If he sucks, get rid of the lot of em. This isn't such a bad point, now that some skill players are back. If he can show some spark with this current line, there is hope for him with what the next draft and the jettison of a few non performing players brings.

Just from what I can recall this didn't help the Giants then . It did work. The Giants went 7-2 when Fassel stripped Payton of his play calling. They went from scoring a pathetic 12 points a game, to 24. Completely different circumstances though. Fassel, at the time was one of the better offensive minds. Freddie Kitchens, is trying to make a name for himself.

if what you say is true then I stand corrected in my opinion.. Some people here have this wild conspiracy theory that Eli has the organization hostage or something and Jones was a "favor" If we bypass every qb that goes to the Manning passing camps it would take all the top guys off the table every year Jones as it stands is the second best QB to come out of that draft and he was the second 1 taken, he isn't a talentless Buffoon he still has a chance tho it is getting little late.

Just from what I can recall this didn't help the Giants then . Fassel took the play calling over from Peyton and shoved his chips to the middle of the table lol. Peyton finished the year and went to Dallas I believe.

I'm not sure but I thought Fassel did the same thing to Peyton after things went south , I think this has happen before . It actually helped a lot. Giants rallied, offense exploded and they made the playoffs. Only to be dominating the 9ers, scoring TDs when we they wanted, only to collapse wildly in the mid 3rd to 4th quarter.

Just from what I can recall this didn't help the Giants then . I got it now. You’re talking about Sean Payton our former OC. I ready “Peyton” and immediately thought of Manning which threw me off as I didn’t recall Fassel with Peyton, but Fassel did coach Elway so there was a Bronco connection...

Those people we lost on the OL were as proven as you or me in the NFL for the most part. It is not like the Cowboys losing 3 parts of their starting 5. We really don't know whether any of our OL who are out with injuries are legitimate NFL starting calibre.
