“Devonte Smith is so small he’s going an injury bust in the NFL.” - Giants fans hot take circa April 2021 Lol, the same people were saying that Kyler Murray was going to be a bust as well. IMO, people just say silly stuff to convince themselves that their team did right by not getting the player. Exactly

In all seriousness, people tend to forget how violent football is. It isn't the player's fault that they are injured a lot. Shit just happens. The first thing I would do if I were a pro athlete is hire both a nutritionist and a personal trainer before I did anything else. One of the most out of shape NHL players has played in 1000 straight games.

In other news, Parsons and Slater are having great rookie seasons. With friends like Gettleman, who needs enemies.. To be fair many people said great trade 6 months ago. And I still say great trade....... Unless Lobstah Boy or Abrams are making the picks it's a great trade

Why did we gamble on Golladay Lucille meet Artax regarding what we should have done in 2019/2020 Haha, just think its hilarious Gettlemen makes this statement and then binges on signing/drafting players with injury issues

I wanted Slater more than anything. However, the fanbase/management as a consensus thought that "weapons" rather than OL was the issue. huge flaw in their mindset. not saying I was against the trade. I love trading back in the draft, but its damn hard to find excellent OTs. Slater will be one for the next 12-15 years IMO

If all we did was just draft AJ Brown and Mooney 2019 and 2020(and not panic sign Tate) Trade back and get an interior O lineman (Humphrey)this past year.. Hmm,offense is probably better overall and you could make a move for Wilson But

Slater could be a probowler for years. I don’t think anyone ever doubted how good Slater could be. But you don’t ever turn down 2 first rounders, one a potential top 10 pick. No GM would’ve turned down the Bears offer. The Giants could potentially draft an even better player with that pick.

Could also draft a player that does not come close. The draft is a crap shoot. I like having the extra pick but until we see who is picked and how they play we will not be able to say if the trade worked out well or not.

Well, you and Gunner told me that because they didn't play last year drafting Chase or Slater in the first round, let alone with the Giants top pick, was not sensible. BUT as the process wore on and people realized he was damn good at least you changed your opinion. Though, keep in mind that again, everyone and their grandmothers knew the Giants were taking Devonta Smith, which is why the Giants got schooled - again. They would taken him, regardless of what trades Gettlemen had, all he has is all his years as a NFL GM as backup that supports that opinion. You know, similar to what they did in 2017, certainly got their man that year. I cant imagine Dave to be much of a poker player. Maybe its a good thing fortune prevented that from happening, again.

Man, this guy just can’t stay on the field I really think this guy can be great. But today when I read this, I thought, my god, this guy has been out or dealing with an inujury all season and in fordida he was hurt alot as well.... I worry this guy will be off the field as much as he's on it.. if that.. scary our entire offense is in and out of the lineup all the time, they're all injury prone its insane.

To be fair many people said great trade 6 months ago. If we took Slater or Parsons they’d be killing Gettleman for not making the trade. Lol, said no one but you. Pretty sure you’re not even a Giants fan. Yeah Mike, everyone would be killing DG for picking a guy that will most likley not only get Rookie of the Year but Defensive Player of the Year. Where do you come up with this trash unless you’re trolling? Just give me ONE example of who DG has drafted that is either in Slater or Parsons league and fans have bashed DG for. Just one. Maybe Thomas at the beginning because he sucked, so who has played as well as Parsons or Slater as a rookie that DG has even drafted? Let alone fans have bashed him for? Of course this is like arguing with a brick wall, or my dog, because not once have you ever admitted DG is a shitty GM. Not a single time. It’s almost like you purposely say the most ridiculous shit just to piss off every Giants fan here and see you who can get banned for calling you out. I’m sure you won’t answer eiter question, as usual, you’ll just ignore it and keep making ridiculous comments.
