Martinez does not fit Wink's defensive scheme. Awful getting back and defending the pass.
You certainly deserve props on this. Good call.
Thanks GameTime. Generous of you to say that.

Schoen bring in lots of offensive guard who were high draft choices.
Anxious to see if the Giants three new offensive guards who were placed on the practice team (Anderson, Phillips, and Davis ) eventually wind-up on the Giants 53-man roster early in the season.
Giants recent draft choice Ezeudu is also a 3rd round pick.

Schoen seems like he's playing the old Pac-Man game by gobbling up every player in sight.

Four players were released from the practice squad: DB Darren Evans, OT Roy Mbaeteka, OT Garrett McGhin and DB Nate Meadors. Mbateka, the huge 22-year old offensive tackle, was part of the International Pathway Program, having never played football until he was 18. This might not be the end of the line for Mbaeteka and the Giants, though, as they guaranteed him a full-season practice squad salary of $207,000.

Will new signees OGs Anderson, OG Phillips, S Pinnock, S Jefferson, and CB Layne be on the opening day roster?
Did Giants find a potential starter in OG Anderson among recent pick-ups?
Giants now appear to be deep with good safeties.
Wondering if Wink will play four safeties at times?

Good to see that close to 10 percent of the roster was added to the 53-man roster in last week. Giants needed more depth.
Nice seeing OL Anderson,OL Phillips, S Pinnock, and CB Layne, were added to the roster. Phillips and Layne are 3rd round draft picks, and Pinnock is a 5th round draft pick.
Anderson was not drafted but is highly regarded.
Believe S Jefferson will be moved to the 53-man roster this week. As a proven player, he strengthens the Giants safety position.
The Giants have needed taller players in the defensive backfield. Now they have them in Pinnock and Layne.
Want to see how Wink uses new defensive players this week in practice. Free agent safety S Pinnock played CB in college and may be a good fit playing the CB position for the Giants.
Feeling so much more confident about the defensive backfield as the new players added seem heads and shoulders above those cut.
Hope we see Belton at practices this up-coming week. Like to see him play some CB as well. He has the speed to do so.

Anyone concerned about the cap number? People are assuming LW will restructure but he has to agree and then how much? Joe will not even be in town this weekend. Is this all settled already? If so I wish they would make some announcements.

If so I wish they would make some announcements. LW would get every penny he would be getting anyway. It would be a restructure to change how and when he gets paid not to reduce the guaranteed amount. The cap has t be set by the 6th. Doesnt matter if he is out of town. Phone convos, teams meetings, zoom meetings. etc. It will get done

Do you think if it was already done we would know about it? I wonder if its a deal like LW agreed but told them to make it as low as possible first? That is probably what I would say.

All I know is they will get something done. I am sure we will here the did a few restructures. LW and KG could take care of the issue with theor salaries alone. 27m and 21m. Then they could do bonuses with other players too if needed to change what money counts against the cap. This is all me talking off the cuff as I dont really know all the ins and out.

Wink needs all his weapons on deck. Would be a big shot in the arm if Thibs and Ojulari can play against the Titans.
Sending Giants have upgraded their offensive line with Anderson and Phillips, and on defense with Jefferson, Pinnock and maybe Layne.
Want to see if Pimpleton is moved up to them 53-man roster to receive kicks-offs and punts.
Wonder if Lemieux will win back his starting position at LG when he returns?
It may well be that LB Beaver is the only player presently on the IR (out for the season) who would be starting if he was not injured. He'll be missed.

Two years ago playing against Wink's Baltimore defense, the Titans scored 24-points in regulation, but only 13-points through the first three quarters
Titans RB Henry gained 139 yards (4.8 yards per carry).
Titans QB Ryan T. threw for 259 yards including the overtime period. Will the Giants beat those numbers playing the Titans?

I assume he will get his. RBs do fall off quick at some point but it has yet to be evident he is slowing down. Tannehill is more than capable of having a great day. The Titans are an established team. They know their identity and what they do. The NYGs have no identity and not much is established at all. The first game is the journey to that identity. The NYGs may start off the game well because they are an unknown. See how the Titans and the Giants adjust.

My response:
In three pre-season games, the Giants secondary players amply demonstrated that they could consistency run the Giants effective offensive schemes. Those schemes will be even more effective in the Titans game as Giants starters will be playing most of the game. Now Jones, Barkley, Shepard, Toney, and Robinson will be the focal point of the offense.
The Giants offensive passing schemes work as they get receivers open. Doesn't matter if Titans know the plays or not as the plays force Titan players to make choices, and once that choice is made Jones can see that and then exploit it.
But new plays will be added. But the bottom line is that virtually all the pass plays get receivers open. Jones just needs to find them.
In Giants practices this week the Titans likely defensive schemes will be run so that Jones will likely know what to expect.
Do believe that the Giants will win the battle of the time of possession as the Giants will move the ball down the field and it will be hard to get them off the field even though the Titans have a good defense.
And while Henry will likelyb get his yards, the Titans have a cast of mostly new receivers and it may take some time for them to gel.
I do want to see if Wink calls the right defenses, and am a concerned that two key Giants edges rushes will not likely play.
I think the Giants roster is a strong one as the Giants have highly drafted impact players, and other drafted players throughout the roster. The roster has been recently bolstered by the recent addition of free agents who had previously been drafted.
Realize that some Giant fans are hesitant to say that the Giants do in fact have impact players in Jones, Barkley and others.

Apparently there is a petition to change the team name to the New York Ravens: To me it reads square peg in square hole defense.

Apparently there is a petition to change the team name to the New York Ravens: To me it reads square peg in square hole defense. which amazes me how many times that method is not used. IMO Belichick uses that idea to the limit. You see him game plan around one payer and what they do best for that particular game. Then you may not see that player in the plan for weeks.

If our starting OLBers are not looking healed and ready for this first game, it might be wise to keep them and any others questionable off the field and kinda concede this one. Quite a few of the upcoming games after are far more favorable to get wins, once more players are back 100%. Not at all how I'd like to see the season start, but a 500 or winning record at the halfway point would certainly make that worthwhile.
