]If our starting OLBers are not looking healed and ready for this first game, it might be wise to keep them and any others questionable off the field and kinda concede this one. Quite a few of the upcoming games after are far more favorable to get wins, once more players are back 100%. Not at all how I'd like to see the season start, but a 500 or winning record at the halfway point would certainly make that worthwhile.
My response:
Free agent OL players Anderson and Phillips are now on the Giants 54-man roster. Both are very good. Whether they can get up to speed in one week to play significant minutes is an open question. Would not be surprised if at one point in the season at least one of them supplants a starting offensive guard.
The Titans game is a winnable game. Never want to send a message to players that you don't want to win a game. It may be close but the Giants have a good chance of beating the Titans. Sure the players are confident that the Giants can beat the Titans.
I've got concerns about Crowder and Coughlin on the defensive end. Looking forward to seeing how well they play.
It's usually the team that makes the least mistakes that wins.

Will you back this up with a bet? When we are under 500 in Oct he will be a ghost He will reincarnate until he is correct which could take decades ....hopefully his transmigration turns him from a miggs to a cricket, and I can step on him until he simply becomes a tumbleweed that bounces around the desert from the Yuma winds

Apparently there is a petition to change the team name to the New York Ravens: To me it reads square peg in square hole defense. when your money is low you only shop for what you know tastes good. No experiments

I've never seen some fans so invested in knowing they are right in predicting their team will have a losing system.
Total inability to actually speak about current Giant football.
They say We have bad cap situation so players must not be any good. Little talk as why prior coaches were so bad. Lots of blame placed on the players. Lots of talk about salary caps, reminding us of how bad DG was, who should Giants draft next season before this season even starts. Put-downs after put downs.
But some rationale posters here. Glad one poster likes someone being "bold and refreshing."
One would like to think that even the skeptical posters would want to see my prediction come true.
I've been upbeat as I've seen good offensive systems and how they make players better and that results in wins.
I'm completely overwhelmed by Daboll in how quickly he has organized the Giants into a well oiled team at the Giants training camp. Knows to how to limit mistakes. Has different plays for each area of the field. He negates pass rushes with quick passes.
Do believe the Giants have a great system, a plethora of impact players on both sides of the ball, and a deep roster.
I have some concerns that may drive much prediction on wins down, but I doubt it.,
This week of practice will give us more insight into the state of the Giants. Titans game should be even more informative.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Miggs, or the eventual tumbling weed, gives you hope...but unrealistic hope based upon practice squad players that are fast...and also, strong. Some extremely fast, and some extremely strong. Some might conclude from reading his strongly simplistic posts, he is vastly misguided in reality not knowing nada about the art of evaluating talent.... football talent. While, don't worry be happy, might have a place during a dreadful breakup while other ladies suddenly appear, this type of thought process forgets the preparation for the worst. Now, preparing for the worst in theory is grounded in reality versus faith, faith of hoping for the best based upon practice squad players that are strong and fast, as well as extremely strong and extremely fast. I will give you the feel good fix post by being prepared for the worst, and suggest most football players are fast....while others are strong, and some are both, fast and strong. I could even prop this knowledge up by suggesting extremely fast, or extremely strong. However, I will tend to allow you to understand teams that rely on practice squad players usually end up picking top 5 in the draft...no matter how fast or, well strong. So, in theory, preparing for the worst, could end up with the best ....come draft time. And that is the feel good post you should always refer to when Daniel Jones decides to dive head first for a 3rd and 3 from our own 40 yard line, and suffers a concussion as the player he was diving into was extremely fast, extremely strong.... and extremely talented.

aris: The free agent signed by the Giants who I described as strong and fast is free agent linebacker Wiley. Have no idea if he's a good player. Was not evaluating him as a player. He does run the 40 in 4.5 seconds. Not many linebackers do that. Fans like to know things like that.
Did speak to a long time Ravens fan who did not speak highly of S Jefferson. He questions his effort.

aris: Why do you get so bent out of shape over the number of wins I predict the Giants will win?
Hope you agree the Giants should have won 7 or 8 games last season, but didn't because a lineman was offsides in one game, and Jones missed seven games due to an injury.
With Jones healthy, the Giants having better coaches and a better offensive system, an excellent draft, and having upgraded it's roster, it seems likely the Giants will have a far better record.
It also appears you're oblivious to what occurred and is occurring.
I understand that most fans do not think Jones is a franchise QB because of his past poor performances. I think most didn't realize that such was so due to the out-dated offenses be played in. And simply don't realize that today when brought to their attention.

They can sit a few questionable starters, give the backups confidence that they can step up just fine, and still let all the players feel it is a game to win. Preseason showed good discipline and mostly decent execution throughout the roster, I certainly hope that translates to keeping games in reach, and opening it up a bit comes the critical time.

Daboll will and should do everything he can to beat the Titans.
Giants winning this game would be a shot in the arm for long suffering die-hard fans here. As for 10 seasons they have endured pure hell.

Best new defensive backs are Pinnock and McCloud. Both provide Giants with depth.
Layne is a very good special teams player.
Jefferson no longer can cover receivers.

Giants release CB Hand from the practice squad, waive Rb Sandro, and added CB Fabian Moreau to the practice squad.CB Moreau is 6'. In 2017, he was a 3rd round NFL draft pick. Played at UCLA. Has run the 40 yard dash in 4.3 seconds.
In the past last week, Giants have added 2 CBs to the 53-man roster( McCloud, Layne), and 1 safety (Pinnock). Layne will probably just play on special squads.
Added to the practice squad: CB Moreau and S Jefferson.

That makes 5 DBs added since cut day I believe. All seem to be upgrades over a low bar but improvement, nonetheless.

After this weeks preparation to play the Titans, it will be interesting to see how defensive backfield and offensive line shakes out. The defensive backfield has been upgraded.
Still remains to be seen if linebacker group is strong enough. Trying to keep Titans RB Henry in check will be a formidable test.
Same for defensive line if Thibs and Ojulari are not available.

Odds and ends:
I dislike short cornerbacks as they have a difficult time covering deep passes. Glad the Giants added some 6 feet cornerbacks with speed.
I'm displeased that Bachman was cut.
Won't be pleased if Webb not on sidelines in Titans game.
Can we agree that OL, defensive line, and defensive back are better looking than last season.
HC too?
Does anyone think Giants roster not better than last season? If so, why?

Didnt see much confusion etc in preseason. That in itself covers a lot. Jones looked decisive and accurate the little he played.

Pass and run blocking appears significantly better. maybe... reg season is upon us. All questions will be answered in time If you were watching the pre-season games, there is no "maybe." Receivers were open, passes were accurate, and run-blockers were sometimes taking-out two defenders. Rarely saw either last season.

Preseason is the very definition of "maybe" in regards to what results may follow to the regular season. The real games start for the NYGs on Sunday.

Good offensive systems are good against starters and back-ups. The Giants have a proven one. Saw that in the pre-season. Get that you haven't seen that in sometime. You will on Sunday.
