9 years and 360 million for Judge to come back. I'm glad that he is returning, but 9 years is a lot man. The guy bet on himself and more than doubled up. Good for Aaron

I'm sooooooooooooooooo RELIEVED!!!!!!!! I am too. I am not a fan of the 9th year, but you have to do what you have to do. I think that he was really serious about going back near his hometown. The Yanks were going to financially match whatever the Giants were going to offer. Once SF signed Hanigan, I felt like AJ was coming back.

Judge is gonna make about 110K a day during the deal. He will make my annual income not including my Navy pension in one day! I wish that I was great at baseball 😄

Judge is gonna make about 110K a day during the deal. He will make my annual income not including my Navy pension in one day! I wish that I was great at baseball 😄 Next life, be a baseball player. Baseball might not get the glitz and glamor of the NFL, or the far reach of the NBA. However, their union is that of an iron fist, and the players control their own destiny. As for Judge, he got what he wanted. When everyone was sweating and losing sleep, it was obvious the Yankees were not letting him out of their sights. While San Francisco could offer playing in front of his home town, here he can finish his legacy. This contract solidifies he will be a Yankee for life. We offer what no other team in the sport can. We’re the Yankees, and they aren’t.

Would have hated to see him leave, but otoh I think we're stuck in the mud now that he stays for that kind of money over 9 years.

I've heard the Padres offered him 10/400!!!! There was a time they were the Mets of the West. Cheap, and pathetic. Credit to them for giving their fanbase something to cheer about. One year and $10 million more is not enough to sway Judge.

Cashman is such an a$$ kisser, really hate the fact he's still here I think it is clear that Hal was the one that wanted to bring him back and Cashman, who embarrassed himself by making that declined deal public, rightfully stayed on the sidelines.

Well, I was wrong here. I didn't think the Yankees would resign Judge while having traded for Stanton years ago. After last season I thought they HAD to keep him here at any cost, but still wouldn't. I think if it was up to Cashman he would have let him go.
I'm very happy to have him back, but worried it might cripple any chances to improve the team now outside of minor league help.
And we must not forget his postseason stats. Where the real money should be earned.
Regardless, I will now get behind the decision and hope the team still makes some more big moves to improve the team to win a World Series.
And I still hate Brian Cashman as a GM. He is awful. Signing him to a 4 year extension was pathetic.

Xander heading to San Diego on an 11 year deal It was nice seeing Boston's best players getting picked apart. Devers is available next year and it just so happens the Yankees will need a 3B. That lefty bat would look nice.

Xander heading to San Diego on an 11 year deal 9 years for Judge, 11 years for Xander? These ridiculous contracts will kill these teams down the road.

Seeing the Pads do this is pretty crazy though. Machado for 7 more years Xander for 11 Tatis Jr for 11 And they still will have to pay Juan Soto after this next season. Unless... the YANKEES DO! Soto and Devers this time next year!

Reportedly wants a 7 year deal. Throw that coin! Injury history a little worrisome, but the Yanks need another top end pitcher in this rotation.

Ten current players have contracts of 11 or more years after Carlos Correa’s 11-year, $350M deal: Fernando Tatis: 14 Carlos Correa: 13 Bryce Harper: 13 Giancarlo Stanton: 13 (Only 5 more left) Julio Rodriguez: 12 Mookie Betts: 12 Mike Trout: 12 Xander Bogaerts: 11 Trea Turner: 11 Wander Franco: 11
Only one for the Yanks?
They better up their game! lol
These contracts are insane these days. However, I think they are extending the years to lower the AAVs, not worrying about the last 2-3-4 years of these contracts.

What will we do in 2028???? Judge will have to be in the OF until then, then he can take the DH spot from 2028-2031. Back to the contract lengths though, What is better for the team, 9 years $360M or 12 years $360M? AAV of $40M or AAV of $30M? You just have to write off in your head those last 3-4 years, but it helps keep the payroll lower. If Judge said, hey I want $360M, I don't care how you do it. Why not extend it out.
