I love CC. Love the guy. Great person battled his struggles, lost velocity and changed his style, and for getting the teams back last year the way he did $500k be damned. HOFer absolutely.
But he is cooked. Much like Happ.
This is why I still dont see this team winning the WS.
They NEED Severino to come back 100% by October.

Time to go out west.... man I hate 10pm EST games. Yankees’ Brett Gardner sees dilemma in ending dugout antics The Yankees begin a nine-game West Coast trip in Oakland on Tuesday in firm control of the AL East and in contention for the best record in the majors. So why doesn’t it feel like it? Their just-completed four-game split against Cleveland in The Bronx had an occasional playoff feel, but it also featured another battle with the umpires that ended with three ejections on Saturday and more contention in Sunday’s loss. On Saturday, Aaron Boone noted his team “sometimes toes up to the line a little bit and there’s an edge we’re playing with right now.’’ Overall, it seems to have served them well, but following Saturday’s win, Cameron Maybin acknowledged the Yankees would have to change their ways in order to not consistently agitate the umpires, and both Boone and Brett Gardner said they hoped to stop getting tossed out of games. Still, Gardner is confident the team’s attitude is necessary for them to get where the players want to go. “For sure, there’s pride in us having that edge,’’ Gardner said. “I think that’s something that’s important for a group of guys to have.” And as the Yankees look toward another postseason and a shot at their first title in a decade, Gardner believes it’s vital to a championship. nypost.com/2019/08/19/yankees-brett-gardner-sees-dilemma-in-ending-dugout-antics/

JA Happ has just been awful this year. He is getting absolutely lit up.

This starting pitching is not good at all.

Yankees will be lucky to win one game this weekend as well. The pitching staff is so tilted in LAs favor its disgusting. Well done Cashman for not getting a starting pitcher. Glad I didnt watch any of the Oakland games since they were on too late, but I was planning on watching the Dodgers games, now, not sure. I bet Bellinger hits 5 HRs in 3 games.
This team is 1 and done in the postseason.

Well, I'm sad I went to sleep early last night. But I'm glad they brought out the hammers against a legit Cy Young candidate last night in Ryu.
Good guys win 10-2
5 fingers of death
Judge Sanchez Torres And 2 from Sir Didi
Paxton pitched very well.
Much needed W in LA.
I dont have much faith tonight though as CC takes the bump, but ya never know.

CC sucks and should be in the pen 😂

Yeah, I was really surprised the rotation held that powerful Dodgers lineup in check. 5 runs in 3 games. I think having lefties against that lineup is key. German gave up a first pitch HR, then a double, and then locked it up.
Hopefully Didi isnt hurt bad, but Bubba Mike Ford stepped up HUGE last night. That dude has some pop. Judge HRs in all 3 games. Hopefully he is breaking out of it.
Fun series to watch. Man so close to sweeping. Even if the ump screwed up that call timeout, Yanks still had bases juiced and 1 out. Cant blame the ump there. Gotta get the run home.
Orioles took 2 of 3 from the Ray's too.
Off to Seattle for 4 games. Need at least 2 games there and come home.
German now 17-3!

Gotta love LA sports radio. They are downplaying the series loss to the Yankees. Had they won that series, they would be calling themselves a lock to win the World Series. Lol

Sound the horns! Happ got a W!
Good guys win 5-4
Ford drives 2 long balls against he team he was traded to for a hot minute last year.
Gleyber Torres is also having fun, hitting his 33rd, yes, his 33rd HR of the year. The 22 year old power hitting SS is doing things that A-rod, Nomar, and those great hitting SSs of the early 2000s did.
We have a Japanese showdown in Seattle tonight, Tanaka takes on Kikuchi.

5-0

Good guys win again, 7-0
Tanaka turns in a dominant 7 inning, 3 hit, 7 K, 0 ER performance.
Judge 3rd fastest ever to hit 100 HRs.
Gardy smashes a 3 run bomb
DJL and Gleyber also with 2 hits a piece.
Seattle stinks.
Gotta get this sweep today, no excuses. Interesting matchup too, James Paxton going against his old team in his old stadium, vs the guy he was traded for, Justus Sheffield.

Nice sweep! 7-3 good guys win.
Judge is catching fire. Gary hits #30. DJL and Ford go yard again.
Paxton not hi best game but good enough to best the ex Yankee Sheffield.
Back to the Bronx for revenge on the A's.
Gio Urshela with groin tightness. Probably needs a stint on the IL. Expect a lot of Wade and Ford the next week.

I will take that 24/7 365. Speaking of the A's, that is the one wild card team that I don't want to see if we get that top spot.

Good news on Gio... Urshela said that he expected to be available to play on Friday, when the Yanks open a series with the Athletics in New York. Boone said that he did not know if Urshela would have an MRI or other tests during the club's off-day on Thursday. "I think it's just a little tight," Urshela said. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/gio-urshela-sustains-groin-injury

Oakland is a problem. It is pretty surprising how they have dominated the Yankees over the last several years. Out of all the teams....

It seems like every single player has been on the IL at some point this season. It is unreal how they've continued to win at this pace. The guys filling in and doing work aren't household names either.

I keep telling fellow Yankees fans that Oakland is the one wild card team that we don't want to see. For some reason. They just have the Yankees' number as of late.
