It is. If we have a chance to draft a starting QB or maybe even a franchise and we pass for a 'stud' WR..Then we deserve to suck. Why is this difficult for ppl to understand? JJ MCarthy has "Sam Howell" written all over him. Penix? That would have been understandable. But Nabers WILL be a difference maker. It's a passing league. I doubt it will be with Daniel Jones though. I agree that he stinks. All the QB talk was a smoke screen. How many times did we hear how much the Giants were coveting McCarthy. I am betting that Schoen is too smart to fritter so much capital to move up for a QB as well. That was also more smoke screening imo. Nabers should be an impact player for us for 5+ years. Drafting another QB at this moment in time, where #1 drafted QBs mostly don't fulfill their promise seemed like a bad idea. I believe Schoen confirmed that last night. Now he needs to find a starting CB and S. We'll address QB next year.

Nabers a difference maker? How so? Can he throw the football?, can he block? how about tackle? He might be a good wr but unless our expensive backup can get him the ball (or see him) he is useless. You can't throw slants all day long.. opposing Ds will game for it

Who was the franchise QB they had a chance to draft. Sure isn’t McCarthy. Are you talking about Penix? Bo Nix? Sorry, but this year the three most QB needy teams in the league ended up with picks 1, 2, and 3. There is zero legitimate evidence any of those teams seriously consider trades (and why would they?). Giants did the right thing based on the circumstances. We don't know how these QBs will turn out despite all the crystal balls the posters on these boards possess. There might be a couple that do well, I know impossible as that might seem to be.. The right thing to do if the target QB was unavailable was to trade back get more picks, build up the OL (If you balk at that get a gander at how many sacks the Giants gave up last year) maybe even a pass rusher..A weapons is useless without A) A QB to get him the ball B) An OL that will allow a qb the time to get him the ball Simple concept for some. Extremely difficult for most

Their job is to catch footballs and make plays. Surprised this lesson was required, but don't forget I was there for you when it was.

Nabors and Hyatt, and even Slayton, outside the numbers is going to open up a world of possibilities in the middle of the field if the Giants remember how to pick up stunts and actually block.
There won’t be 8 in the box very much.

The Patriots, of all teams, know that you have to get the QB position correct, have to keep taking chances, and can't keep kicking the can at the most important position in football. The "smokescreen" narrative doesn't fly...Schoen tried to get a QB and the "smoke" caused zero trades and zero surprises in the top 6. Pretty obvious no other team bought Schoen's smoke.

Schoen was vague and non-committal while doing his due diligence as a GM and looking at all situations. It was the "media/fans/reporters" trying to interpret what that meant as far as the pick that created any "smoke". They are looking for clicks and attention and some people take everything said seriously.

Completely agree but there was a narrative, on this board, that Schoen was manipulating the draft, or creating a smokescreen, by spending time with Maye and JJ. It simply wasn't true...no other teams cared or reacted to anything Schoen did.

Perhaps we should give up on the forward pass. Since Mara is enamored of old school football, we can convert DJ to halfback/TE/hybrid receiver who will throw on occasion (if he has to) confuse the defense. When (not if) he gets injured again Lock can come in do the backup thing win a couple of games, maybe. The silver lining is that we will also suck this year too and draft in the top 5 next year, that gives up another shot at a qb. Or Mara might decide to extend DJ until Arch Manning declares for the draft and he moves heaven and earth to get him. So the question I have: Pepsi or Dr Pepper?

Keep in mind Robinson is not a deep threat. He is a slot and a gadget guy, We need to keep the Opponent's D in cover 2 . Keep those Safeties out of the box.

Folks...The Giants didn't draft a QB because they were in a bad position to do so. I promise you all if we had the 3rd pick, Drake Maye would be a Giant. The Pats desperately need to draft a QB and their price to trade out, even to drop just 3 spots, would most certainly would have been too high.

I do not see how he is.
