I didn't know that you were one of the owners. Don’t have to be..but getting thrashed by a bunch of bench warmers will not sit well with any of the teams that requested an interview with Rhule. He moves far down the Giants want list now.....perhaps Rhule should learn something about a thing called defense in his next few years at Baylor, then try the NFL interview circuit again. Who do you want as the next coach?

Does the include going for it on 4th down on your own side of the field in the 3rd quarter. What an absurd reply. Is that why you will not hire him? You still have not answered my question. Ok I will ask you the same As I asked 3 others that will not answer the question You will be the 5ith. What qualifies him to be the Giants head coach?

So what makes Ruhle so great...I've seen you deflecting TEM now in excess of 200 posts...you were pounding your chest for him. I personally want to know why....you are good at throwing the jabs, but are having issues with counters. Why, why...not the generic anything is better than Shurmur, Shurmur blows donkey balls, answers...we get it, you hate Pat Shurmur. He can't be the answer to why Ruhle. NEVER have you said why. Yeah, he changed a college program...hardly not enuff evidence to suggest he can handle an NFL team. What makes him the next superbowl coach? I created a thread months ago stating my reasons for wanting Matt Rhule as the next coach. Go find it. I have told TEM the same thing. Apparently, you both have the time to create rambling, incoherent posts about Shurmur’s greatness, but not the time to do a simple search for my thread. Don't give me the Bull S%%%. If you had anything with that inflated ego you have. You would have spouted it out like a broken water main. At least I have the balls to make my point clear on why I do not want him. I will ask again What do you think qualifies him to be the Giants Head Coach?

Coughlin spent 8 years in the NFL and was on a super bowl winning team, he was the Wide recievers coach . He also was the FC of BC and had a 60% win total How does that compare to one NFl season as a low level o-line coach with a 53% NCAA record? MattRrhule was also a assistant oline coach on a Superbowl winning team. Pat Flaherty talks highly of him. My point is TC is a very good coach , a 2 time superbowl champion Head coach. He didn't meet most of the requirements you had for Rhule but was still given a shot to coach in the NFL. What I am saying is none of us know if Rhule will make a good NFL HC but you can't rule him out based on random criteria that doesn't determine if a head coach will be successful in the NFL What Super bowl team was that?

If you could repeat it I'm interested in your opinion on this. I would like someone with at least a few more years experience in the NFL as a coordinator at the minimum.

Let me preface this by saying I DO NOT WANT Rhule as the next Giants coach.....with that being said if I HAD TO make a case for him the things I like about him are: - Original NY guy.
- Walk-on at Penn State (tough to do)
- Coached multiple positions (LB's, D-Line, QB's, O-Coordinator)
- Brief coaching stint with the Giants (2012 Assistant O-Line Coach)
- Proven history of turning programs around as a HC at the collegiate level
- Temple
- 2013: 2-10 (Last Place)
- 2014: 6-6 (6th Place)
- 2015: 7-1 (1st Place) (Bowl Game)
- 2016: 10-3 (1st Place) (Bowl Game)
- Baylor
- 2017: 1-11 (Last Place)
- 2018: 7-6 (5th Place) (Bowl Game)
- 2019: 11-3 (2nd Place) (Bowl Game)
- What's most impressive was that he was man enough to step into the toxic situation at Baylor and clean it up in a matter of 3 years.
With all that being said as other have pointed out I don't think he has enough NFL experience. Couple that with having a month to prepare for Georgia's back-ups and they still got slaughtered I'd rather go with McCarthy.

If you could repeat it I'm interested in your opinion on this. I would like someone with at least a few more years experience in the NFL as a coordinator at the minimum. Here is my argument Here is his resume ( Unimpressive) 1998 Albright (LB) 1999-2000 Buffalo (DL) 2001 UCLA (DL) 2002 Western Carolina (LB/ST) 2003–2004 Western Carolina (AHC/LB/ST) 2005 Western Carolina (AHC/RGC/OL/ST) 2006 Temple (DL) 2007 Temple (QB/RC) 2008–2010 Temple (OC/QB) 2011Temple (OC/TE/RC) 2012 New York Giants (assistant OL) 2013–2016 Temple 2017–present Baylor he is 47-42 as an NCAA HC Winner of the Texas bowl (2018) How is this resume a top NFL coaching prospect? To me his just a made up shiny object that has glitter an no substance. 47-42 is (53%) That is between 8-8 and 9-7 in the NFL Not one of you would want an a coach that has been an NFL coach with between an 8-8 and 9-7 record. But it is ok for a college HC from the Big 12 that only has Oklahoma as competition, to come in and run the show with a mediocre record. I do not get that logic. Well, you can all watch a major bowl game today with Matty...Baylor is taking on Georgia in the Sugar bowl... “At the end of the day, I’m never going to be in an arranged marriage,” Rhule told KRZI-AM in Waco, Texas on Thursday, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I’m never going to subcontract jobs to the offense and defense. I always want to hire people that believe in what I believe, that are going to do things our way, that are going to believe in process, that are going to be part of a program. I truly believe that programs win.” -Matt Ruhle he problem with group think . There is no voice of reason when the S### hits the fan. That last thing an NFL HC wants is clones of himself. When that happens. Because; if what he believes becomes wrong and he keeps doing it. He has no one to tell him to try a different path. I agree the staff should believe in the process , but if the process goes bad. Yes men are your worst people to surround yourself with. He is still only 53% In temple his first 2 years he had losing records 2-10 6-6 . In Baylor 1-11 and 9-7 So what some of you guys are saying it's ok if the HC has his first 2 losing seasons if it is the guy we want. Let me ask What has he done that you think makes him so good as a coach? What has he won? What has he done in the NCAA that would make you think he can win in the NFL? What has he done in the NFL? What makes him a good evaluator on NFL talent? Can he handle the egos of NFL players? Enlighten me because I just do not see it on his resume. You seem to have an affinity for asking people to answer your questions. Time to man up. We can make a pretty good assumption that his first 2 seasons will mediocre at best. Are you ok with that? I here everyone saying Rhule is a top candidate but no one ueses his resume and explains why he is. Not one person that is a proponent of him can answer any of these questions. I see nothing in his record and resume that would suggest he would be. Never ran an NFL offence Never ran an NFL defense Never won a major bowl game ( He may today) Don't know . He is in the big 12 (they suck) Never was part of an NFL draft team One season as a low level O-line coach on the Giants. None of this gives me a warn felling about this guy as a HC. Resemble TC? Not a qualifier as a HCOne season as a low level O-line coach Not a qualifier.A former New Yorker Not a qualifier
CEO coach What the hell does that mean?
I want a Head Coach. Not a New Yorker that resembles Tom Coughlin and is CEO Head coach. Because if that is all he has to suggest he would be quality NFL HC and he is hired. Expect more of the same. I not a fan of Mike McCarthy but his resume blows this guys out of the water.

Since you are too lazy to find the entire thread that I started on this, I have copied and pasted the below from that thread:
44 years old.
Grew up in NYC
Walk-on LB at Penn State under Paterno
Asst OL coach under TC (when the OL was good and when Gettleman was here) - so there is a Giants connection (which we know the Giants love)
HC at Temple - took a crappy program and led them to two straight 10 win seasons (first time ever in school history)
HC at Baylor - has turned around a program that was even more of a mess than the Giants (hard to believe). Team is currently undefeated.
It seems like most NFL teams miss on HC's by taking a non-HC and hoping that he can be a HC. As it turns out, a lot of these guys are just not the CEO types that you need to run an entire organization (see, Pat Shurmur). Rhule is the CEO type and has actually turned around two down-trodden teams (albeit on the college level).

Obviously, I don't know the guy personally, but I have looked at some of his speeches on youtube and see that he is the kind of guy that is a leader of men. This has been confirmed by Sean Chandler (who played for him at Temple) as well as at least one other Temple player.
I think its time for us to find the next Parcells or the next Coughlin, instead of looking at the same-old re-treads.
There is obviously no guarantee with any of these candidates and the obvious risk with this guy is that he has never done it at the NFL level (I love that some of you guys think that you are geniuses by pointing this out).
This is simply my preferred candidate based upon a fan's level of knowledge.
And I am not answering your list of questions because they are stupid.

Half way through the 3 quarter down 5 points (19-14 ) He goes for it on 4th down on his own side of the 50 . Gives the ball back to Georgia on downs. 7 points and Georgia Ices the game. Only an idiot would make that call with 5 points down and 23 minutes still on the clock . MY pop warner HC would not have done that. Some day he may be a good quality NFL HC . IMO: It ain't this year. We do not need a guy that has to hash out his rookie HC mistakes on this already disheveled team.

Only an idiot would watch one game in a coach's career, point to one specific play call, and pronounce judgment that he is not fit to be a NFL coach.
We are fans. All we know is what is out there in the media. What I have read about him, I like. One thing in particular that I like, is that you don't like him, since my recollection is that you have never been right about any football related subject on this MB.
I find it odd that a poster who was so high on Pat Shurmur is taking such aggressive positions against other candidates ... lol.

I know exactly who he was and is. Apparently with shiny object dementia . No one else does. That game last night was not some prototypical benign game . It was the Sugar bowl . A top bowl game . Nationally televised. In the process of showing the NFL what he can do. He made that dumb ass call? Up until that point in the second half. He was in a position to win the game. He blew it and was outcoached by Kirby Smart. There is some irony in his name, don't ya think.

I'm not trying to butt into your debate. I just have a question for you and anyone else interested. What exactly are the prerequisite qualifications to get your first NFL coaching job? No one seems to know exactly what those are and the opinions are all over the place.

He took Temple from 2-10 to 10-4 and a perennial Bowl team. He took Baylor from 1-11 to 11-2, now the 7th ranked team in the country. Pretty drastic turnarounds for both programs, I thought it was impressive but that's just me What about QB development? Rhule seems to resemble Coughlin a lot. Former Giants assistant, a New Yorker, and is more of a CEO coach than any one particular thing like Coughlin. I wonder who his OC would be? I think Mara will hire Rhule because Rhule is a good salesman and Mara was bothered that fans of the opposition are filling his stadium. He feels like he needs a guy he can sell to the fans. McCarthy is a Super Bowl Champ..but isn't that guy. I said in an old post that Rhule had a preachers demeanor..After further inspection I think he has qualities of an actor...That was his Texas character. He will probably adopt a NJ/NY persona if getting this job. It bothers me that Rhule wants his own staff and control but has no NFL experience. I'd be open to an idea like this...a CEO salesman HC with experienced coordinators but I'm not sure what we get with Rhule: HC: Rhule OC: Gruden DC: Ryan HBO: 2020 Hard Knocks ...now that would be a Blockbuster cast.

STC O-line coach QB coach for some years...…. Not some assistant to one of them for a season. OR NCAA. Have a combined 60% or above record. Have won a major bowl game ( proves he can win a big game) I addition be and foremost able to win in a big conference. Big 10, ACC, SCE...… Winning against crap teams in the big 12 is not a testament to coaching prowess. Having a winning record against the teams in those conferences shows your muster. I will say it again put Baylor in one of those conferences. He would not be in the coaching conversation.

I tuned into the Sugar Bowl and saw Baylor running a 3-3-5 defense. That made me cringe. Georgia has a gigantic OL. It's fine in the wide open Big 12. That made me nervous about Rhule.
That was a similar feeling to watching Shurmur in the NFC Championship against Phila. Watching and waiting for Shumur to kick the offense into high gear....it stayed very plain. And it's what we saw every week with NYG.
But here's to hope!

There is no way Ryan is allowed in our locker room Like Gruden as his OC...would actually be my first choice It would become an instant Ryan clown show. No way he get anywhere near the door of the facility.

What about QB development? You lost me with the clown Ryan as DC.

Again not answering the question What makes you with what he has done qualifies him to be the next Giants HC Because if this is all you got 44 years old ? Grew up in NYC ? Not the O-line coach an assistant to the O-line coach? Walk on at pen starte talks a good game on YouTube? That is a S### resume for an NFL HC He took 2 teams not in the big 10. Pac12, ACC,SEC. And was able to win in crappy divisions How does that impress you? Last night should have scared the S## out you guys that want him. How is winning in the PAC12 or ACC better than the BIG12 and the AAC is closer to lowest ranked P5 than to the next closest G5. Baylor is never going to out recruit the top teams in it's own conference much more the SEC or B1G. I think it shows more that he has had success with lesser profile teams than teams like OU or TOSU who have built in roads to get the top recruits in the country. He is developing players not having access to the top 5* and 4* players so he can just out talent other teams like a UF or USC. I didn't watch the Sugar bowl, but I saw both OU games and the second one he lost his QB1 and adjusted his game plan on the fly and made it a very close game, the first one they blew a huge lead. I think he has the makings of being a good HC, maybe you're right that it is in the future but he definitely isn't a shit choice.

I do not know much about Rhule nor will I pretend to, but his resume in building college teams, (I don't care what conference) they are in is impressive. Sure, its not the NFL, but turning around two football programs is impressive and obviously, he made an impression with the Giants in the time that he was here. That is enough to warrent consideration if the organization is willing trust and believe he's the right guy for the job. If they do, he'll more than likely be our next coach, if not he won't. That's my captian obvious take for the day.

I agree with you on Rhule but let's not make stuff up......the game was never closer than 12 points in the second half it was 19-7 at that point.....not sure if that strengthens or hurts your argument.....just a heads up.

I stand correct you are right.

I'm not trying to butt into your debate. I just have a question for you and anyone else interested. What exactly are the prerequisite qualifications to get your first NFL coaching job? No one seems to know exactly what those are and the opinions are all over the place. My understanding is that the biggest prereq is prior NFL Head Coaching exp. How you get that before your first HC job is beyond me, but that's what I've been hearing bantered around.
