@jordanraanan As new coach Joe Judge tries to fill out his staff, he interviewed Mike Shula on Monday for the Giants offensive coordinator job, per sources. Shula was the Giants OC the last two years under Pat Shurmur. Helped in the development of Daniel Jones. Pretty standard I think Yeah, this isn't anything new really. Teams usually ask new coaches to speak with any assistants still under contract. Means the team doesn't have to eat their salary if the guy retains the assistant.

You know TC I might be caught up in the moment but this LSU offense has been a juggernaut all year, over 700 pts this season. Brady and burrows haven't missed a beat. Of course those WR's don't get as much credit as they should but the whole offense very impressive.
Now in the NFL can his concepts be nearly as effective ? But his offense at a college level is like KC's offense. 2.0. This is why Bienemy had me so intrigued. I feel after all these years of losing I am just so open to try anything. Don't know if I'm being smart or not.
Pro style modern offense with the.Sean Payton concepts from when he was with the Saints HaHa, Very good description. And damn if Burrows doesn't look like a college version of Drew Breez. 60 TD passes this season including the Bowl games.

If we keep Shula will we get the 2015 Panthers version (#1 O in the league) or one of the other years where they were a middle of the pack O? I just want someone that can develop Jones (I think Shula can) and maximize Barkley sending him to the HOF (not sure if Shula can), while working around or fixing our OL (not sure if anyone can).

If there’s no word by tomorrow that he’s been hired than I don’t think Shula did very well in the interview and will probably not be retained hence they will keep looking for a coordinator.
Wouldn’t have minded Joe Brady but fake preacher man Matt Rhule took him

Wont raise ticket prices. I would hope Mara would pay anything to get a coach he believes in the most. Otherwise its settling for someone else due to being cheap. Even the contract Rhule got is a drop in the bucket to these owners. It's nothing.

Over at BBV some people speculating our next OC is still coaching for a playoff team. One of the names brought up is Pat O' Hara . Tennessee Titans QB coach. Maybe Vrabel ex Patriots ties could help Judge out in that regard? The coach has done well with Tannehill and could be the Titans OC in the future unless he comes here

I think he means that was how Joe Brady agreed to be the oc for carolina rather than entertain any other potential offers to be in better situations. In other words, just like Matt Rhule.

And it becomes an horrific problem for the 31 other teams if this trend we see starts happening in the free agency period where he singlehandedly wrecks the market for every position group when he starts spending recklessly for players.

TE coach Lunda Wells, OLB coach Mike Dawson, DB coach Everett Withers and offensive assistant Ryan Roeder won't be retained.

TE coach Lunda Wells, OLB coach Mike Dawson, DB coach Everett Withers and offensive assistant Ryan Roeder won't be retained. Why do I not see Hal Hunter on this list? Literally one of the worst coaches in football.

I wonder if letting go some of these guys on offense indicates that he is not going to retain Shula?

@rapsheet Per @mikegarafolo: Former #Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is in the #Giants facility today interviewing for the vacant OC job today. Garrett is no longer under contract.

Sounds like Cowboy ball.
I hope he knows our OL is far inferior to the Boys OL And Zeke is a different kind of running back than SQB

Would be really happy with Garrett as our OC. When he was one, he was aggressive and multiple. Im not the foremost expert on this, but his core philosophies would be like the Saints offense.

Yeah he learned under Sean Payton.. Seemed to prefer an attack style offense that pushed the ball down the field, which would indeed open up the running game. Also ran a lot of up tempo with the running game(which I love),easiest way to trash a defense is power running uptempo

Pass Arthur Smith, Tenn OC, intrigues me, maybe we can also make him Assistant HC, which would be considered a "promotion"........ First year on the job, he did a whole lot more than Matt LeFleur did last year with nearly the same offense.

I'm guessing Jason Garrett is going to be announced as Giants new OC very soon. I was ok with it before when it first was rumored. It got much more attractive when I thought they may actually keep Shula. I will take incessant clapping over a "no pulse" guy any day. C'mon Jason--Jerruh's playing late nite board games with McCarthy probably telling Garrett jokes--you can dig deep for some feelings of revenge, I just know it! Burn that midnight oil!
