Completely impressed. Old school approach, hard nosed, aggressive schemes, fundamentals, accountability for players AND coaches, etc.......after listening to the press conference, I don't know if I could be happier. A few things/quotes that stood out to me...... “Fundamentally sound, situationally aware, and we play with relentless effort. “ @ 11:30….the answer to the Jones Q is on point “Round pegs into square holes ” “Everything I learned I learned in Kindergarten.” (re-emphasize the basics)

Not sure if this was said but I thought it was worth mentioning that it was John Mara who called Joe to let him know he got the job. Not Dave Gettleman. There are those who have stated they thought Gettleman hired Shurmur and that he was involved with the hiring of the coaching staff. Hopefully that will be laid to rest now. Im not sure what this proves other than John Mara is the owner of the team and writes the checks? I think that’s standard procedure in the NFL and any industry that the owner makes the actual hiring calls.

Well, so there's some disagreement on what shoes go with what suit. At least we dodged a bullet for a coach with a preference for Charlie Sheen Two and a half men bowling/piano shirts--contrasting short sleeves and the like.

Yeah...wow ....ugh.......
The fashion 'gurus' are laughing their collective asses off.....Lordy I know ppl think this is the 'correct' fashion but uh.. no
Don't take my word for it, look up John T Molloy's New Dress For Success
Whenever you see brown, think of a human biological function associated with it (btw for those of the progressive mind-set I'm talking dress not skin tone) thats what other see and think..
As an audio aide I have included a nice tune by a well-known recording artist that encapsulates the feeling (ya'll can thank me l8tr)
If you don't think brown shoes go with a blue suit of any kind, you're color blind. Plus I believe they were cap toe shoes. Looked great. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.......
The sartorial clowns at GQ and Men's health did a great job brainwashing the public..
Outside of the entertainment world the 'style' is laughably foolish....

This guy at GM still scares the living crap out of me. I wonder what his computer folks think of this He brought talent into the team through the draft. We have several building blocks at key positions. Yes he could have done better in free agency. I don't see the need to be worried about Gettlemen though. He can identify and bring in talent. Its up to the coaches to make it work. The problem is that he brought in a lot of average players .. very few coaches can make that work .. the thought of him having 80-90 million in cap space is scary

A home run, he is extremely impressive. Now we know why he was hired. So he sold all of us. Impressed us with his rhetoric. We have all been taken one time or another, right?...But...BB respects him! Watch the interaction between them on the field. Bill wants his input. That's what really sold me. I haven't felt this way since Bill Parcells.

There is no standard procedure as far as I'm aware. The Giants gave George Young final say on all football matters back in the day.

I know zero about fashion. But when I see brown shoes with red/blue color suits it looks weird. But maybe that's the point, trying to stand out in the crowd.
Then again, once it becomes a trend, are you really standing out, or do you just look color blind?
Tisch looked like he wore sneakers in his interview.
Who's in charge of this? 🤔

Im saying, just because Mara made the call doesn’t suggest he had final say in the hiring process

Brown shoes and blue suits are not a "trend." It's been around for a long time and works on the basic fundamentals of combining colors, not just in clothing. Anyone who doesn't believe this, use your preferred search engine or your eyes. If you're colorblind, I apologize.
How about that Joe Judge though?

Loved the interview he did with Bob Papa. Looks like he's a no-nonsense type of coach. No more milk and cookies.

I thought Gettleman mentioned that Mara would lead the head coach interview which put me under the impression that Mara had the final say. That Mara was the guy that chose the GM and hc that decision I'm sure is made in consultation with thy rest of the senior management there.

Just FYI, Skins fan on WFAN (Michael Kay Show) forget his name is saying the whole thing is fake. Just sound biting. Checking boxes. He said he was glad they got Rivera. Obviously hating but shows that Skins fans aren't saying "Uh Oh". They need to prove it first. I liked the presser though. Skins fans have no room to gloat about anything in regards to the Giants as they have been basicly our toilet paper since 2000 And that's saying something because the Giants haven't done shit in recent years.

Giants should have a lot of money to work with this offseason the most money since Gettleman has been GM, What Gettleman is saying is accurate. There is this myth you don't run the ball in this mans NFL you throw it but that's not true good teams run it and throw it and some QB's are like a second running back. If you look at this years playoffs most if not all the teams have a good running game. As for Joe Judge I loved what I saw, He seems strict attention to detail reminds me of a younger Coughlin! I loved when he said the Giants Organization and fans are Blue Collar! Its true Giants are a Lunch Bucket team!

Brown shoes with a blue suit? Good lord man.... That's been the new trend for many years now. Personally, I still prefer black shoes with a blue suit.
Haha. Exactly. Has that guy been to a wedding lately. Everyone is wearing. Brown shoes with blue suits

Joe Judge on Golic and Mike right now.
"I don't know what the other 31 teams did, but during my 8 years with the Patriots we definitely practiced live tackling"
I'm paraphrasing, but he did say that you have to do it safely.

He also said is they wont concentrate on what CBA wont allow them to do but to develop drills for what they CAN do. Simple right.....

Who's in charge of this? 🤔 There's a sleeper of a movie called "the Gambler", with Mark Wahlberg and John Goodman. There's a line in the movie by Goodmans character(loan shark) as he's lecturing Wahlberg(who could have it all but he's a problem gambler) "you need to get to a place where you have F You money". Yes, it seems Tisch is struggling with middle age, but he definitely has "F You" money. Sneakers n Suits? If its what some of the players are doing he's all about it.
