Can we at least he looked 100% better that this goober? Blashpeme! BTW that live concert was a 2 time oscar winner, the first full live concert footage recorded in digital...ever... and the Talking Heads are/were fantastic. I agree with you about the Talking Heads But I don't want my new HC tonmake his first impression dressed like this (One of my favorite songs by them...almost has a Prince vibe to it)

Joe Judge on Golic and Mike right now. "I don't know what the other 31 teams did, but during my 8 years with the Patriots we definitely practiced live tackling" I'm paraphrasing, but he did say that you have to do it safely. Do teams really not do that at all anymore?

A home run, he is extremely impressive. Now we know why he was hired. So he sold all of us. Impressed us with his rhetoric. We have all been taken one time or another, right?...But...BB respects him! Watch the interaction between them on the field. Bill wants his input. That's what really sold me. I haven't felt this way since Bill Parcells. There’s a lot to look forward treats for sure. Judge is very impressive.

Imagine that. Actually practicing a fundamental of the game that is sorely lacking across the league. I don't know what these defensive coaches are teaching these players today but I'm seeing the worst tackling I've ever seen in the NFL lately... True, but I think some of the newer rules, tighter enforcement of existing ones, and hefty fines have the players somewhat afraid of how they attempt tackles. Not to start the shitty reffing job bitchfest that some can't let go, but it's a factor. Defensive players used to take great joy and pride in their tackling and hitting style, the coach didn't even have to prod them...

Do teams really not do that at all anymore? I’m sure every team practices it. You can only do so much, and what Judge must be alluding to is teaching the basic fundamentals. Which he can do here. Having a young team you can mold them into what you want. A veteran team is not going to want to hear that. I think Judge is the right fit at this moment for the Giants.

One thing I will say, he better mention CT when talking about Giants fans. He mentioned NY, North and South Jersey. South Jersey? Eagles country. Southwest CT? Giants country.

That was with the generation of players who didn't grow up getting participation trophys and actually had to be a top finisher to get the award!

Reading between the lines it almost looks like Judge put it out there in the tone of his press conference that we do not want players that will accept participation trophys.. The unfortunate part is its virtually impossible to see inside a player during the scouting process to see of he is or isn't

One would hope all teams want the players who are motivated to be their best and are willing to put in the extra effort to achieve that.. Those are becoming a rare breed these days!

Finally got to see Judge's press conference. I gotta say, it's a pretty stark contrast to most press conferences I've seen. Especially when you get into some of the meat of what he said.
Obviously, he gave the normal stuff about playing tough and smart and fundamental.
But, I liked how he made it pretty clear that he wasn't going to be scheme locked and that his focus was going to be on ensuring the learning process is occurring, not on drawing up plays or limiting the team to a specific scheme.
His background in education really bled through the entire speech. His focus on players learning as people and coaches being able to teach and communicate was a positive to me. I like that he acknowledged that he'll need a strong staff to make-up for him not having HC experience because he is going to have to build everything in the daily schedule, workouts, meetings and logistics.
I can see why the team was so impressed with him.
Let's see how it goes.

The only thing more surprised than the fans all seems to in universal agreement but Judge coming off really good on at the press conference is how nobody knows how sharp brown shoes and blue are together.

I disagree. There are a handful of us. I mean, who wears black shoes with blue pants? Especially dark blue pants? What are you a automotive technician servicing my tires and checking the filters?

I liked his Presser , I like all he said. I did like Rhules better. He really went into detail and I think that is his HC experience. No idea which one will have more success, Judge could very well end up having more. Funny i got an ad for brown shoes while looking at this thread on my phone.

The funniest and stupidest thing is how I get ads about something I just bought for weeks. If I just bought a refrigerator, I prolly am no longer in the market for another refrigerator. No. It's because players are not drilled on how to tackle, and/or they are trying for a turnover/big play instead of just tackling. Did anyone notice how much better the playoff teams tackle than most other teams? That's why they are in the playoffs.

With many players I think it's the fear of injury. Jenkins would be the poster child for that!

With many players I think it's the fear of injury. Jenkins would be the poster child for that! With some veteran CBs it's the Diva mentality, and it was started by "primetime" Deon Sanders. "Business decisions" were celebrated instead of ridiculed. We have talked about this on the board before, proper tackling is punishing to both parties and in some cases hurts! Tackling is all desire and motivation. Are there situations that call for slighter built DBs to use caution--absolutely, but many more sad attempts are seen each week. I think we will see excellent tackling attempts by DBs this Sunday, partially because that's why their teams are there and because they will be extra motivated. KC's DBs have the biggest test.
