I go back and forth on Waddle He to me probably can be dynamic as hell but early on will need something to make him not be "the guy" Tyreek Hill has Kelcey and Maclin early to be eased in Throwing him out there and "be our savior" ..not ideal BIGGEST separation between Waddle and Smith is the injury that Waddle is coming off of. That versus the INCREDIBLE season Smith had makes me lean towards Smith It also makes it hard to compare Chase to Smith. Chase had an incredible season in 2019, now Smith does the same in 2020. How much are we willing to bet that players who opted out of 2020 are gonna be the same player we saw in 2019, cause it makes me second guess some of these guys that would have been LOCKS at their projected draft position Smith is like Todd Pinkston skinny, though. Waddle might play in the ship, hope he does and looks back to regular. I agree with what you're saying, though, just like Ruggs in LV this past year, couldn't be THE guy.

I'm starting to really become enamored with Smith. Feels like there is no shot he's around at 11.
His route running reminds me of this weird marvin harrison/OBJ combo. Which is a very high compliment, it's just a thing of beauty.

I’ve watched D Smith every week the last 2 seasons. I watched Waddle the last 2 seasons until he was injured. Side note, his rehab has gone very well and he may be in uniform Monday night. I watched Chase most weeks in 2019.
Chase should be a star - more impressive than Odell Waddle should be a star and I would be stoked if he became a Giant.
D Smith WILL be a star. I would be happy with any of the 3 however Smith is my #1 choice by a long shot. No showboat - not attention starved - a TRUE ROLE MODEL for youth. Unlike another #1 pick who lifted his leg pretending to urinate like a dog in the end zone.
Chase has some showboat in him but I’m not familiar enough with his character traits. He’s a pretty amazing WR.
Waddle no showboat but I don’t think he is as polished a WR as Smith.
I can’t see D Smith making it to 11. Philly could get a DeSean Jackson on steroids with character.
If that happens we get Chase and DJ gets a top shelf weapon.
If both are gone Waddle will be a gold nugget consolation prize.

Ok How are the Auburn guys(you living down there) I haven't seen enough of them My brain is fried right now as I can't remember names One is a bigger guy(but supposedly sluggish) The other is a track star but a bit raw.(think his name is Schwartz) I'm thinking later picks (rounds 3-5 )but not tbe instant inpact guys we desperately need

A natural hands catcher with strong hands who rarely allows the ball to get into his frame, Williams rarely double catches the football. He likely won't win against press coverage with foot quickness, however when he learns to use his hands and excellent functional strength, he wont have an issue off the line of scrimmage. Fearless when catching slants over the middle and is very good in contested catch situations. In the NFL he will be a red zone nightmare for defenses in slant, fades, 50/50 balls and back shoulder situations. He will have no problems excelling on special teams, if needed in order to roster.
CONS: He doesn’t have good separation agility at the top of the route and likely won't win with quickness against man coverage in this way — has some stiffness in his hips. Unless he gets better at defeating press, coordinators will have to get creative with how you use him, relative to getting off the line and possibly scheming him open. He will likely have limited route tree and doesn’t project well to run every route.

Anthony Schwartz at 6'0 179lb is the other guy
Pros: Anthony has aligned at both inside and outside WR for the Tiger spread offense. He is an excellent athlete in terms of his combination of agility, speed and toughness. He has excellent suddenness off the line of scrimmage and quickly eats up a defender's cushion. Schwartz is the type of ball carrier that keeps you on the edge of your seat due to his home run ability to take any catch or carry the distance. Because his deep speed is so dynamic, he forces defenders to open their hips early — as a result, hitches and 5 routes are usually easy pitch and catch situations. He demonstrates toughness to catch slant routes from the slot and also 6 routes. He has good tracking ability and soft hands to catch deep balls.
Cons: Schwartz doesn't have a lot of mass or strength on his overall frame. He's somewhat of a linear athlete with not a lot of ‘wiggle“ both as a ball carrier and at the top of the route. He can use more sideline awareness in regard to toe drags and also sight adjusting his routes in critical moments of the games to get first downs. He's disinterested in being a run blocker and although his route running is sufficient overall, he would be absolutely scary if he developed more polish in the short to intermediate range.

There is a difference between just being big and knowing how to use that size to create separation with it.

Wow just saw a 2 round mock by MSN that had D. Smith going all the way down at pick #25.. These guys are way off compared to all the otjer mocks showing him go 6 or 7.
I dont know if this will become a trend? Maybe dropped that low due tomhis size?

Dude is coming off a fractured ankle, while Smith is coming off of a Heisman winning season

Dang Waddle just grabbed a little shuffle pass and came up limping. He needs to get healthy for the offseason pro day and combine if there is one. Love to see him in blue if he doesn't wreck his ankle completely.

This is who I have had my eye on. K. Toney ( Florida ) is the closest to Smith. Question, is there any red flags on Toney.

Already saw someone mention us taking either Cosma or Slater to play RT at 11. I say get the playmaker first then go there if they feel they need to. When I'm saying wait on OL I want OL all the time but not this time I want one of these top 3 WRs.

Thing is when they are big and slow they need to be precision route runners. And have guaranteed hands That is one of the things that stands out watching Playoff football besides the separation is the WRs and TEs catching balls not only on them but ones the WR makes the QB look good also. Think we need hands guys the closest guy we have like that is Sheppard. Tates not bad there but he's on his way out and should be to make room for a more dynamic play maker.

From what I'm seeing he is getting very little seperation at this level and just winning with superior athleticism Very little deep speed Very suspicious he could do this at the next level unless he develops better route running Day 3 pick IMO after we get a dynamic guy early
